@@mimikyulover3411 so this is not the same really but I’m a practicing witch and I read auras and I can 100% say that they all have very different auras. Also it’s ok if you don’t believe in that stuff just my personal experience:)

Maeri doesn't seem as confident as the others... except when she's talking about something she really likes then suddenly there's a burst of sudden confidence. Then back to nervous laughter. Don't be nervous you did great.
I wonder if it's because she's new and just getting used to everything. I feel like once she gets the hang of things she is very confident and can easily take charge of situations. Like she doesn't seem to be afraid of stating things as they are and standing by her opinion, but is also recognizes when she doesn't know or it isn't her job to make that decision. She is definitely gonna be beneficial to the system.
I had the complete opposite impression. She seems really confident and reminded me a lot of Chloe character wise. She is not a trauma holder so maybe that's why. And she even said for Kaya that they're "still" the boss. It will be interesting to see how she's going to grow. I am very happy that the system is coming together.

A cat wouldn't really be able to tell that the body had a different alter fronting, but it would be able to tell that the body is acting or talking differently, and it would react to how it was being treated. A cat doesn't really have a concept of a personality independent from the body, but they still make very good companions.

I've been here since the interview with Anthony but have watched all of Chole so when Nin did her long "Meet Nin" stream I loved her already but still felt some loss for my friend Chloe. Yeah I’ve been around since near the very beginning and honestly there was so much loss but we also gained some amazing people. I guess I was most sad about the merge between Kyle and Nin but they both still exist inside Kya so it’s okay.
I have watched them through it all and I am really glad that Maeri is here because they seem like they will be very helpful
@@rangergirlrocks I watched a few videos to catch up, man I love Kya! I really loved kyle but you can see a lot of him in Kya, Nin sometimes as well. I never heard of fusing or final fusing before this.. for some reason I never questioned what the end goal is for DID.
Sounds like Maeri was created so that the system could finally get a cat... that must be the worthiest and noblest of all the reasons to exist :D

Cats are just the best… my baby licks my tears when I break down and maybe she just wants some salt (😂) but it’s so soothing. I’m trying to train her to recognise and respond to my breakdown breathing by whistling really quickly and she’s doing so well, running over to me and licking and tapping my face to check on me 🥺🥺 my Pixel is my everything, don’t know where I’d be without her
There is no legal registration in the US for emotional support animals just so you know in case you’re in the US :)
@@sofiapatrao2796 yup, WA state! 😊 What it looks like here is a written note from your therapist saying they've treated you for x amount of time and deem the animal in question essential to your mental health. Then it becomes illegal for places of living to charge pet fees or deny entry to said animal
@@yaoiover18justcos Thank you for doing research! That is correct! Most of the time it has to be A psychiatrist as they can write prescriptions, but that can vary from state to state :)
I recently found out I have DID, got diagnosed, and it explains a lot. I have 5 or 7 alters I know of, and only a couple have unique names; The Zealot and the Screamer. I was raised in a very religious home and I’ve also recently discovered I relate A LOT to cult survivors stories… so I think I might have been raised in a cult, too…
And that’s where the Zealot come in. Even though I don’t believe in god anymore, that part of my past is still in there and he’s a survivor. He won’t speak to me because I’m a heathen, but I appreciate that he saved my life every time I was suicidal. He refused to die, always had hope in God and the afterlife. I don’t need God anymore but I can’t ignore how he helped me survive.
The Screamer I think is a part of me from when I was a baby, and my mother would watch TV while I cried and screamed for hours because I needed her. I cried until I had no tears left, and screamed until my voice went out and mouth was dry. THEN she’d begrudgingly “nurture” me. My older brother confirmed he remembers that happening, and he hated her.
Now when I’m really stressed the Screamer I can hear in my head, always screaming and crying, it makes hearing people extremely difficult. I’m trying to figure out how I can give that alter the nurturing and care they needed and never got, I think they’re just a baby who needs an actual caring figure.
Not a system, but do you have a headspace/ would be able to build a headspace? There might be a change that one of your alters could nurture the Screamer inside.
I also don't know if you'll need a headspace for that, or if they'd be able to nurture the baby just by existing and being around.
@@SilverSkylark My therapist has been working on creating a headspace with me for just that, actually.
I have been asking if one of my other alters, I used to call Anger but he’s much more nuanced than that, I think it would help him a lot to nurture Screamer.
I as the control don’t really know how to intuitively help the screamer, but I can understand them. The rest have a consensus that they don’t want to be the control because for the last two years I have been at the helm and completely changing my life, going for a career in engineering, getting promotions at work, becoming a leader, getting my GED, going to therapy, cutting off toxic family and friend circles. I won’t stop. And the other parts are too young to have any confidence in everything I’m doing. So here I am. Lol. The newest part who can seize the day.
@@orangesnowflake3769 Christian nondenominational. But I grew up in a Christian conservative homeschooled small town family with a single black family in the entire populace. So that should give you the gist of what kind of environment I had.
I wasn’t TECHNICALLY raised in a cult because in cults you’re forced to stay, but we shared A LOT in common with them in ways of teaching about the outside world, nonbelievers, and how you have zero self worth without God and no matter what you do you will always be nothing. But “God” loves you so you can go ahead and ignore the crushing sense of mortal dread we’ve drilled into you.
I am no expert, but perhaps something like a weighted blanket or some sort of swaddle blanket could help the Screamer feel comforted? Or perhaps loving touch to themself? I don’t have DID but I do have some pretty intense ptsd from childhood abuse and sometimes I feel what I identify as my child self comes up when trauma is triggered and I try to go back to the small scattered things I did have to seek comfort in (warm milk, coloring, playing outside). Obviously those things may be different for the Screamer since they are an infant but perhaps there may be other applications to nurture them?
@@lumiya_lumos1423 That’s a great idea. I’ve wanted a weighted blanket for a long time and I’ve love to try that next time they’re coming forward with their stress. I know a few of my alters wanted to be a father, (I don’t like kids, so I’m not great at intuitively knowing how to help Screamer) so they might be up to that task.

I sort of imagine the internal world as like an island where everyone has their own little area with one building that is where people can control from but I have no clue if that’s accurate. Cassie (host/me!), Logan (protector), Bradley (protector/trauma holder), Nicolette (trauma holder), and Ember. I’m still very fresh in my journey, very new to the diagnosis. I’m still learning about it everyday, but I try to spread as much education as I can! I hope your day is wonderful as well!

It must be strange to be aware you've only existed for a month, and being so aware of your purpose, your reason to be around, is that comforting ? I know many people want to know their purpose in life, is it comforting to know yours? Or do you find it brings pressures knowing what you need to amount to be? I'm just very curious how it must feel.

My alter Minsung came into existence having no idea who he was or why he was there, but only a few days later decided his job is to make the system rest. Just days after splitting off, he knew we work ourselves too hard and stress too much and noticed he was only in front if we were worn out and decided that was his job.
For us knowing we have a purpose and knowing what that is can feel both depending? Like I know one of our trauma holders feels devastated her purpose is to hold trauma (this is shared with permission don't worry) vs other parts feel happy to know they're doing something useful/contributing.
It also can feel stupid or "less then" if you see your role/purpose as "less important" than other roles. Which can be hard.

Well at first, she was very afraid. She didn’t know who she was, why she existed and where she was as a whole. She couldn’t speak very well either. However, once she gathered an identity (well developed one) over the years, she says it is more comforting now. Almost like there’s a purpose for her to be there in a weird way? - May
It's so great to see Maeri emerge as an external caretaker. It means the system recognized that there was a need to take care of themselves and thus dedicate an alter for this role. Self-care should be a priority.

Maeri has such a calming aura about her, so I'm certainly not surprised that she's a caretaker! I'll have to keep up with the system's TikTok more so that I can see more of Maeri! She just seems absolutely lovely!
We’re all going to miss Kyle, and Nin, Nadia(?) and any others that aren’t who they once were in the system, but It’s exciting to see new faces such as Kya and and Maeri! I’m so happy that this system was able to get through 2020 and 2021, and I’m looking forward to continuing on with the system as it is now ❤
I, too miss Kyle, Nin, Nadia, Chloe, and whomever else has merged. But the one thing DissociaDID's always stressed is they're still here, just in a different way; I think of it as when someone passes away you still feel their presence with you (at least I do), and it's even better because alters never really die, they just go dormant. Maybe we'll see them again, maybe not, I only hope they'll find peace and healing as they continue on this upward slope.

I watched this a few days ago. We had a recent split a couple weeks ago and she was really confused about what she was supposed to do. She felt kind of lost. She was also a fictive (somewhat). When she saw this video of you Maeri, we hadn't heard of an external caretaker role. She suddenly understood what she wanted to do. She's our newest, but has become so helpful and one of the most frequent fronters. I just wanted to say that your video really helped her understand her goals and what she felt like she wanted to be for the system. I recently discovered I have atypical autism, which has also revealed that I have a separation in my brain that led to a couple pseudo-alters (how my therapist described them to me). They are extensions of myself but they have taken on personalities that channel through my body and they were VERY important to preserving my brain after I was smashed by a car last year. They took over at times while I was recovering but I barely remember any of it.
I still hear some of them at times, and they've once again taken a backseat, but they are a part of me as extensions of my personality.

It’s interesting and refreshing to see someone who’s learning to use the internet for the first time. Maeri is coming up with her own creative ideas (like reading bedtime stories) that I wouldn’t have even thought of. These days a lot of content on the internet is commercialized to just get views 😔
We've got a few fictives who are very similar to their sources, and then there's me. I started off pretty similar, and then within a few months I'd changed my name, grown ears and a tail in headspace (how?? I still don't know), and went through a complete gender identity crisis. It's a wild ride sometimes lol it's nice to meet you Maeri! Glad you're settling in alright!

He knew, during flashbacks, that there were no kitties in battle, so our cat Ariana would cuddle him and purr and Brien would come to realize where and when he was. Brien passed away, and Ariana has been critical in helping me heal from that trauma. A warm, purring cat helps tremendously on bad days, and her antics always make for great comic relief. Not only was I recently diagnosed with DID, but the dynamic between Maeri and Kya sounds like a dynamic that I (external caretaker, because I didn't know this was a thing until now) have with one of the Boys in my mind. He's nice, but he can have a little temper.

Proud of you. You guys taught me about dissociation. I live in the USA where complex ptsd is not recognized nor diagnosed. so i have heavy dissociation, derealization & depersonalization, But these will only ever be recognized as symptoms of PTSD. It is absolutely a miserable place & situation where, I can go through over ten years of therapy & psychiatrists & diagnostic assessments, with no one teaching me,nor asking me about any of this. Thank God I took the time to seriously research different keywords trying to describe what i had been experiencing-for days, and find other people saying my experiences and leading me to your system. How does it feel when you are first "created" or "formed" as an alter? Do you automatically understand the system and what your role is or do you have to learn who you are, and what DID/alters are before developing your role?
For us, we come knowing who we are already but we have to meet everyone else after we "appear" and kind of introduce ourselves. We learn our roles by how we act and feel as we live just like how we found a protector and a co-host. We just kind of assume that is why we were created.
