And if you don’t want to be seen, red lights are a lot better than shining a bright white light
@@RomanHerrin it’s also if you are using a red light you don’t loose as much of your natural night vision compared to white lights.

Honestly i was impressed with the Lumentop flashlight it can handle getting dropped in water, getting frozen, 130 to 150 drops that's a pretty good flashlight right there.
Can Attest to the Lumintop It fell out of my pocket and got smashed by a 50 pound dumbell no damage! Taking it out hunting dropping it in dirt sand etc nothing it's a beast for the price!

Most likely that the batteries are just too cold for proper chemical reactions. Further, the batteries could also be crushed and destroyed by the pressure of ice. Just some thoughts. My guess is that with time and warmth the lights are all likely to work fine.
Should let them warm back up after the ice as batteries don’t like cold

Perfect review of an everyday product with a great host I cant imagine a situation where a flashlight would suffer such an experience as being frozen to death dropped numerous times and boiled alive and and shocked cold but you made it look good

Heat test is important for desert temps leaving flashlight in a car kit. Most important test to me imo
I've had a mini mag light in my truck in the dash for 3+ years in 150+ temps during the summer. Still works like a champ

The red spectrum of light is picked up less by prey animals. So if sorting your hide out reloading etc the hunt won’t see it.
Plus the red spectrum of light has the shortest wave length. Just look at a rainbow and see what comes first.

I'd like to see you test pretty much any Fenix light! They are hands down the best flashlight I've ever owned. The PD40R and the PD35 I can personally vouch for. They're awesome
I have a Fenix E16, PD36R, and HM65R. I have to agree that Fenix are the best lights I have ever owned by far.

Id love to see this again but with a way to test how bright they are and how long they will run. Also maybe do all the water tests first. (ps. Where I live a lot of people use red lights to look at penguins on the beach because either they can't see it or it doesn't startle them)

If you do flashlight tests again I would love to see my favorite brand tested: Thrunite.
Also, while they are more expensive and if the batteries have issues during the tests it could be dangerous - I would love to see lithium ion battery flashlights tested (especially 18650 battery ones).

Tyler, while i enjoy your shows, mostly for th humorous side, i do want to point out that lighter flashlights really have a better chance of surviving the drop tests based on a side by side test as you provided. I’ve also seen over my years as a self proclaimed flashlight junkie, that the higher lumen units seem to be a bit more delicate, i guess due to the larger heatsinks and other components that are subject to impact. Anyway, have fun, enjoy your show and your light hearted look at life, keep it up.

My husband and I really like your channel. He would like to no if you've ever done a video on locks. Some locks say they can't be cut off with regular bolt cutters. Must use a grinder! We would like to see one on this.
i got a ton of led flashligths for some reason, and the only difference is that the cheap ones burn the battery faster... still take hours to go but the expensive ones could last one day on and not turn off... as a guy that grew up whit the regular flashligth all of them are pretty much the same and excelent.

As mentioned in my other comment, as a hard core led junkie, Fenix, ThruNite, Olight, Streamlight and NiteCore are my favorites, honestly the cheap ones which i have several, with the poorly implemented dimming program and in some cases zoom cases are just a shadow of the better made units. I use to spelunk when i was younger, (back in the 70’s-80’s) back before LED was a commodity, and my choice back then was a 6v screw down hanging battery with a sealed beam bulb. the battery bottom would end up being my 2nd hand and be scarred by the end of one day of exporting.. Good times.. Sure wish we had the gear that’s available today. Anyway, be nice to see you test some of the higher end units.. cheers!
That lumintop looks damn near identical to the one i have and it doesn't have the problem of changing modes, maybe i have slightly different model
Those Streamlight's take a Hell of a beating. I have dropped mine from about 30 foot up and ran it over with a forklift and it still works till this day.
I will vouch for getting run over by a forklift. I did it out of curiosity and it survived beautifully. I've been using the same 2 streamlights for 3 years, no issues.
@@zx6r09 I have had mine for about 9 years now(5 of which the front lens has been completely gone), it has been dropped in puddles,snow,fell down stairs, and I even went swimming with it(accidentally) and it still turns on with all modes.
Love the fact coming out of the boiling water the headlamp was flickering s.o.s.

I bought some cheap flashlights on amazon a couple weeks ago and I can confirm that the changing mode every time you turn on the flashlight is annoying. The ones I got have 5 modes. 3 brightness and 2 strobe. Luckily they're more or less just for a power outage or the rare checking on something in the yard at night.
If they were for use often or a tactical EDC light I'd just have to get a different one. Even for my uses I thought about returning them as I wasn't aware it changed every time I pushed the button. I thought you'd have to hold the button halfway for 4 seconds or push it multiple times in quick succession or something.

Thought that this was going to be a different type of flashlight test after seeing the last video. Also, the red light is to stop your pupil from contracting because of the light so you are still able to see in the dark after turning the flashlight off. They are quite popular with stargazers.
And in the military we only use red lights at night because the beams don’t travel as far as white lights so its hard for the enemy to spot people when its dark.
I briefly, due to crappy eyesight, thought the title said fleshlight, and can't decide if I'm relieved or disappointed. 🤣
You should test some Sure Fire flashlights, they are tough and some of them are very expensive ( over $1000).

Tyler my man, you need the Olight Warrior 3. The “expensive” flashlight is like half the price of actual expensive flashlights that are “proven” to be durable. Should love for you to add in the Olight warrior 3, supposedly you can smash it into a tree on the light side and drop it from some extreme heights and it holds up. Don’t want to test it myself though, lol.
