There's a difference between blunt honesty and rudeness and I think that Ruth crossed the line here. Her comments were very snippy after Sarah got upset. She didn't stomp off. She asked not to be filmed for a few minutes. I probably would have done the same thing. But then, don't follow it up by mocking me about it.
Great Show of Strength to push forward enjoyed everything would love to visit this wonderful Estate Hopefully they are All doing well and successful making a go
I appreciate all the expertise Ruth brings to these projects, but as a person who has taught people art for forty years, I can tell you that if your student is in tears, you've lost them. They can't hear what you're saying and be that upset at the same time. It's necessary to push people, but each person has their own limits as to how fast they can change. I think her ideas for this place are great, and would likely bring in the amount of income she predicts, but she has to remember that these are people who don't live in the fast pace of the London design world. A little patience goes a long way.
Whenever i see the food in these places, it looks gross, and why put parsley or other greens that are for looks. I am happy the family has made a go of it, and are keeping the house in the family, while sharing it with the locals. G-d bless everyone.
Ruth has to learn, that she can't just barrel in and make sweeping remarks and determinations concerning the decor, the building color, etc. AFTER THE FACT! Those decisions were already made before her arrival - yet, she insists on referencing her own experience and tastes, beating a dead horse and berating the family members for their choices. Not helpful, and in fact very hurtful, and needlessly so. Doesn't change a damn thing, and merely allows Ruth to pontificate!
Well, it seemed to me that Sarah did not have a clue about colors. It begins with the strange choice of cool pinks she wears, when it is clear she has a warm toned skin and autumn colors would suit her much better. Same with the house, colors are off… it’s a shame.. please hire a designer !!!
