Oh its not even close. At least that game tried to be entertaining. At least when media used to be bad it was usually funny in how bad it was. Now I can't even laugh at this stuff because of how evil the ideology behind it is.
They gave this game a 7/10 and the Golem game a 6.2/10 and the gaming “journalists” had the CHUTZPAH to give Space Marine 2 a 6/10. Gaming “journalism” has been dead for the better part of a decade and the corpse is just exploding from the decay at this point.
Honestly, it's not (just) the woke stuff injected into videogames. It's also the anti consumer practices, the worker unfriendly environments, the general triple & quadruple A slop, the gaslighting. The fallout surrounding the fails of big companies is of their own making and more entertaining then most of their releases.
I long for a day when DRM-free is the norm and client-side-anticheats are just in PvP games again. A day where content creators will call out such stuff the same they do with wokery now, instead of never even mentioning it. Oh how I long for that magical time that will never come.
The scary part is that if the games were actually good and fun to play their agenda would be more easily accepted by the players. We're lucky they suck at this.
I used to play a lot of video games back in the day, and I love watching FPS vids from jackfrags. After seeing Concord crash and burn and Gundam's take, I finally watched the game trailer. It seems to boil down to a 5v5 shooter with no story, no "heist" plot, and characters that go out of their way to not look or act cool. The environments don't look unique. And why is it called Concord when you could use the ship's name North Star? I can't imagine paying $40+ for this.
The culture of toxic positive makes the idea they put this out, thinking it would do good, make much more sense; I've seen many cases where a group is allowed to feed off of each other's bullshit with no counter opinion between them. But it's still a bit baffling.
The seething, coping and dilating from journos about this was funny enough, but the addition of Based Chad Space Marine 2 being so successful has been almost _too glorious._
I used to kind of roll my eyes whenever people said that back in the day. But time and again that burn has become less of a burn and just more statement of fact.
Ultimately the devs have offered a poor product that no one wanted to buy or use. That's called the free market and no amount of moaning or complaining that rhe customers are wrong will change that fact
How could someone blame the majority of the consumers? If the majority didn't buy it, they should realize they are in the wrong and should take accountability.

One of the biggest reasons I honestly think this game failed: trying to convince people to shell out $40 for a gaming experience you have already been able to get for over a decade FOR FREE was a huge mistake. Sony just thought that, because they were Sony, they couldn't fail. They were wrong.

this game made duke nukem forever look like a great success.
George Broussard can rest easy knowing that Duke Nukem Forever has been one upped by an even bigger train wreck.
Oh its not even close. At least that game tried to be entertaining. At least when media used to be bad it was usually funny in how bad it was. Now I can't even laugh at this stuff because of how evil the ideology behind it is.
Duke Nukem Forever isn't even that bad of a game, it simply was a victim of current year before anybody realized what was going on.
a better success, since it can still be played.
Never listen to gaming journalists just watch a walkthrough and make your own decision on if you like it or not to buy it
Just like the state of all journalism, unfortunately.

A prototype sequel wouldve been better than Concord even if it sucked. 400mil on what? 😂🎉
Because they probably thought the homophone would work for them. Concord, Conquered.
The culture of toxic positive makes the idea they put this out, thinking it would do good, make much more sense; I've seen many cases where a group is allowed to feed off of each other's bullshit with no counter opinion between them. But it's still a bit baffling.

Ultimately the devs have offered a poor product that no one wanted to buy or use. That's called the free market and no amount of moaning or complaining that rhe customers are wrong will change that fact
