Selim gets shocked because of the threatening letter that Bayezid has sent. Nurbanu worries that Bayezid will kill Selim and plays a dangerous game. Selim falls into this trap and orders that Bayezid will be killed. Bayezid comes to the threshold of death. Suleiman accepts seeing Jewish merchant Gracia Mendes in Edirne. Hurrem gets curious about this mysterious woman and gets Edirne in no time flat. Hurrem gets disturbed because of the presence of the woman and thinks she's losing Suleiman. On the top of it, she takes to the roads as she receives the bad news about her sons. Mihrimah gets closer with the young doctor Pedro. Rustem realizes the danger and has a jealousy attack. As Bayezid advances towards Selim with his army, Hurrem falls victim to an incurable disease.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Senora Mendes was a real historical woman, like Hurrem. The Senora was a great hero who saved thousands of Jewish people from the Inquisition by bringing them under the protection of the Ottomans, particularly Sultan Suleiman. She was able to use her great wealth from the Mendes banking family to help her people.

@@mjbelle23 I should have said that is a great connection you made with Esther, who also saved her people, the Jewish people.I only mentioned Harriet Tubman bc she physically led people out of slavery, as the Senora physically led people to Constantiople.

I wonder if the real historical woman was so flirtatious. If she was, i think it was only for the sake of saving her people, bc she needed advocates. I'm reading a biography now.

You shouldn't want or strive for a toxic relationship. That's nothing to brag about! How old are you? How long have you been in the relationship? Very odd bragging about toxicity 😮

I think she was concerned as she had been separated, romantically, from Suleiman for so very long, and she needed to see Mendez to see if she was beautiful & could be a temptation for Suleiman.

@@alanaronald244 Mendez was trying to buttering up Suliman for her owne survival and to help others as well Hurrem saw that quickly and was not threthend as she could tollerate pepol doing that however if they delibratly tryed to undermind her thats andiffrent case as doing that would make you anthreth to her sons survival

Really? I've seen it through maybe twice, but i watch short takes sometimes. It's almost like my home, I feel as if I've lived there with those people in that palace. It's very comforting to return to it, my true home!

In the Ottoman empire everybody has his name of choice? That's why their white slaves had to adopt muslim names? Wasn't Hürrem once Alexandra and Gülnihal Maria? 🤣🤣

    • @macro8236

You don't what you talking about , the concubines were adopting muslim names because they converted to Islam and it was a way to integrate them into ottoman elite .
