    If he wasn't so crazily brutal, Murad the Fourth would easily be the best ruler of the Ottomans ever. And of course if he wasn't drinking too much. By the way, if we put aside first 20 or so episodes of Kosem, the rest is better than the story of Suleiman.

      The same thing I say, despite my love for the entire serie, there were a lot of women’s conflicts in the first three parts of The MC, and they were not sideways like the fourth part, and MCK. This is what bothered me, but it actually contains great benefits in terms of directing, writing, and dialogue that no other series, so this will remain the series I return to every time

      @@CadwallonMawr She was furious because she gave up so much to be with him. She took a huge gamble, to go to him in person to beg him to save her country and her birthright, or just dealing with him via emissaries and guilting him into saving her reign since he controlled that country now, as part of the Empire. I think they were both shook that maybe their soulmates dropped into their paths, in such a weird way. She naturally thought he was going to be an old man, and for his part, he didn't know she was headed his way, nor that any female ruler could be so amazing. She was! I loved their story. Just wished their twins could have survived.

      @@suesmith8372 Exactly right. Farya has to give up everything for Murad & he doesn't seem to appreciate it. After having watched the show a few times, it seems to me that all Murad had to do was to cherish Farya & to protect her from his disfunctional family & she may have helped to save him - but he couldn't even do that. And Murad losing his twin princes seems to be a direct consequence of his losing Farya, as she would have protected them fiercely had she lived. And yes, giving her thrown away & depriving her of her identity & her birthright seems terribly harsh & disproportionate compared to what she did, particularly given all she had done to try to save it.

      Nope. Farya liked Muad from their first meeting. But it was Murad who fell for Farya almost straight away and would not let her leave, even while Farya was still asking for an army to liberate her homeland. And Ayse's crazy jealous stunts kept propelling Murad and Farya's relationship to the next level.

    • @CadwallonMawr
      @CadwallonMawr 10 місяців тому +11

      It's a bit different. Ayse did not give up anything for Murad (as she was already a slave) but Farya gave up a lot. Farya also made a a deal with Murad that there be no other women, but Ayse didn't have that arrangement - so Ayse probably never had Murad completely to herself. Also Farya seems to have felt bad for Ayse early on - until Ayse attacked her relentlessly - Eg. when Farya finds out about Ayse & the children, Farya asks to leave twice but Murad refuses both times.. I also wonder if Farya and Ayse could have found a compromise they could both live with - if Ayse had not arranged the attack that killed Farya & Murad's unborn baby

  • @suesmith8372

    Of all the characters in this historical drama, Farya is always dressed the prettiest. And that bridal gown ... It doesn't hurt that she resembles both Julia Roberts and Keira Knightly. But it's safe to say most of us follow the series thanks to the actor who plays Murad. Just wow. And then there's the acting. So believable. Like you're transported back in time with a first row seat. The story of these two was the most watchable in all of the series. And I learned quite a bit about the Muslim culture, which is great.

    Farah Zeynep Abdullah hit this scene out of the park. Great actress. You know Farya's got this won at 16:38 when Murad orders all the entertainers to leave. • @CadwallonMawr
      @CadwallonMawr 10 місяців тому +2

      Not slowly. Its all of a sudden. From recollection Farya & Murad still have a very loving relationship near the end of episode 43 before this happens in episode 44. But something seems to break in Murad around this time after the old woman cuts him off and she blames him for not protecting his subjects in the great fire of Istanbul. After that Murad decides its better to be feared than loved and he seems to take a very dark turn. And he has dreams about fighting with his dark self. And at Atike's wedding, Geverhan asks him what did you do with my brother, and what happened to your conscience and justice? So I suspect this change in Murad maybe a reflection that Murad's dark self is now taking over. In fact Murad starts hurting just about everyone who loves him around this time, not just Farya. Kosem, Kasim & Geverhan will also soon experience Murad's dark turn.

      That's not the same thing
      Hurrem loved her husband to the point that she'd die for him anyday
      But most of all the huge respect and loyalty she had for him never faded away

      Sorry don't agree. After the ridiculous pigs head story arc & after Farya agrees to stay in Istanbul, Farya seems unflinchingly loyal to Murad - although Murad gives her good cause to rethink that loyalty. And it's pretty clear that Farya would give her life for Murad. And that does not mean Farya doesn't make mistakes with bad unintended consequences. I get why you think Hurrem is loyal to Sulieman - but Hurrem & Rustem Pasha's actions cost Suleiman very dearly. Hurrem/Rustem are the main reason why Suleiman executes Prince Mustafa (Sulieman's firstborn son) and Ibrahim Pargali (Suleiman's best friend). - which Sulieman regrets to his dying day,. And Ibrahim's death then leads to the death of Hatice (Sulieman's sister). Hurrem even gleefully tells Hafsa Sultan (Suleiman's beloved mother) that she is going to tell Hattce about Ibrahim's affair with Nigar Kalfa which then causes Hafsa to die in misery. @@nazyadlakhdari6191

    • @CadwallonMawr
      @CadwallonMawr 10 місяців тому

      But Sulieyman deserved Hurrem's lifelong love & loyalty. Hypothetically, if Murad had been Hurrem's sultan (instead of Suleyman), do you think she could have loved him as much? As by this point in MCK it appears that Murad may not deserve the love of either Farya or Ayse. In fact, perhaps Ayse & Farya should both have given up on Murad at this point & just left him for discount Firuze, Sanavber. Acutally, Ayse & Farya forming one alliance against an alliance of Sanavber & Gulbahar may have been more interesting than what we actually got @@nazyadlakhdari6191

    I don’t know what Farya expects he’s the Sultan he can do almost whatever he wants, and she especially isn’t in any position to behave like this when she hasn’t given him any heirs. Hürrem might have been an arrogant obnoxious hot head to me but at least she gave Süleyman children, after that you can have all the bragging rights you want.

    • @CadwallonMawr
      @CadwallonMawr 5 місяців тому +4

      That would be true except Farya is in the perfect position to say this. She is his wife, he made these promises to her & she told him from the get go there would be the devil to pay when he broke his promises. More importantly, she can leave him if she wants since is a free woman & we know from earlier episodes that he won’t let her go because of how much he loves her. Murad wouldn’t have kicked out Sanavber & the other entertainers if he didn’t still love Farya

      Well said. Agree 100%. The only possible excuse for Sultan Murad here is that he started to go mad / lost himself - after the attack on Farya when they lost their baby, after the Great Fire & after the murder of his brothers Osman & Mehmed - so that what we see here may not be Murad's true self. If that is true, Murad would need Farya's love & affection now more than ever as she has a very calming & soothing effect (possibly even a healing influence) on him when they are close.
