    Small advantage? It can be 22%~44% boost to your pre-armor damage. It's a huge increase in damage.

      44% how? Best rings are 12% and are extremely rare. You could go to a 30% increase in damage pre-armor with some insanely expensive and lucky to have trinkets. Post armor that means an actual 10-12% increase in damage. In a fight you could mitigate that in one or two parries over your opponent. I have 22% pierce rings with lucky raw STR and tested it multiple times. The extra damage is not what people would hope for spending 58k gold on trinkets.

      ​@@MrFangseano they are correct but even with bonkers trinkets, it gives you a slight edge. The better player will almost always win. I got beat by a naked Thursar with a starter sword once while I had full plate scale and a steel sword

      @@tylerstrong2746 I never said trinkets made you invincible but having a 10 to 20 percent increases in primary ability points is broken. The system is RNG to keep players logged in and not a fun and developed gameplay loop.

    The problem with saying the game is just skill based is when you compare equally skilled players, or a player with a higher skill level that is in better equipment. People who have been playing longer will generally have more resources, and they will typically also be better at the game. Obvious this isn't always true, but in general I think it is a fair assumption. Now, if you compare two players who are equally skilled at playing the game, but one of those players has the best possible trinkets and other gear for their build, the fight will have gone from a 50/50 to a 60/40 or possibly even a 70/30 chance to win. I could see some fights being swayed even more than that as well.
    Yes player skill is important, and a large enough difference between player skills can mean the worse player has no hope of winning a fight. Hell, the best players can easily take on 4+ players who are just bad at the game. But when the skill level is close or equal, the impact of gear becomes far greater. I don't think that this is really a bad thing, it is currently the only real goal left for a lot of people to work towards. I honestly think that the game needs more unique and powerful gear that can make a larger impact on fights. If it were done correctly it would give us more things to work towards, more reason to have larger scale fights etc.

    I believe that the game is 50% skill, 30% gear, 10% HP pot :) and 10% trinkets. If you roll in steel armor and weapon the inportance of enemy gear decreases even further.

    This might be an unpopular opinion but I think rings/amulets should drop upon death. Full loot pvp?

    Trinkets and RNG related to this was one of the things I have quit MO2. I have over 3k hours on my accounts and never ever got anything worth. My friends friend started game during some tindrem even where he looted trinket he sold for 30k gold xD. Well he quit playing after 2 weeks anyway so my friend got trinkets he bought for him for those 30k gold.

    I agree that individual player skill means more than gear in a 1v1 situation. I think the issue that people (myself included) bring up regarding server wipes is not at an individual level, though-since a significant portion of the game revolves around empire building. There have been times in the history of this game where bosses have been bugged or broken and farm-able as a solo every 5 minutes, or some nodes never ran out of materials, or certain structures were not siege-able assets. These all compound in an empire building game. I think when they fully launched the game they should have done a full bank inventory wipe. Maybe not skills of individual players but once they brought the game into a full 1.0 launch I would have thought this was a reasonable thing to do. That time has clearly passed so I don't think it'd be appropriate now but I digress.
    I think the second player slot will make things a little easier so people can have a PVE money making character and a PVP fighting character (or whatever mix people find works for them).

      they released the game and everything was wiped at the release date 25. january 22. I dont know what release you ment. But the rest good point.

      @@WolfszeitYT Wasn't the official 1.0 launch when they released to Epic and started the monthly subscription? January 2022 was still "early access" or "beta" or whatever we want to call it in today's gaming market.

      the release was before the epic game store implementation. So yeah. and before that release it was in beta state back in 2021 and than at january 25 of 2022 was release date with persistance.@@therowofboats4840

      @@WolfszeitYT I see what you mean. Looking at the waybackmachine it went from Early Access to Release from January 2nd to January 27th of 2022. I digress, though. The subscription was always my understanding of full launch and we are only just hitting that now but, it does look like I was mistaken so thanks for pointing that out.

    Totally disagree on the individual skill thing. Not sure you've ever actually fought a completely decked out meta Oghmir with oghmium armor and god tier trinks. Probably not, because if you had you wouldn't have that opinion.
    When you're in full steel / tungsteel weapon and you hit the other guy for maybe 25% of what he hits you for, and he has 25% more HP than you, and heals almost all of it back by pressing 3 buttons, your player skill ain't gonna do much for you.

    i dont think you realize that people with crazy pierce trinkets can go 1 speed and dismount anyone without even trying with a lance and people with MA can hit your horse in steel armor for 80-90s with a short bow..... People are exploiting node lines and trinket stacking like nightmare and nightfall. look into it. super cringe. Also who gives a ufck if trinkets are rare af. People just rmt the trinkets that they want. Starvault does not give one single ufck about people rmting and doesnt ban for it. the game is a rmt haven. You're so out of touch with this game and it shows. I bet you dont even play that much anymore.

      if you have balance and decent armor no lancer will ever dismount you even with trinkets (they need to hit you for 80+, which doesn't happen on decent armor). for shortbows, they can only hit you for those numbers with a headshot WS, which happens very rarely as they need to hit the headshot and also roll the WS, for which most people don't have the marksmanship skill in pvp builds).

    Gear doesn't change between two equal players. A trinket that gives a player an extra 100-150 skill points shouldn't be in the game. The trinkets should have been a crafting perfession and a durability just like armor. They all should have been max 5% in your profession of choice. Then make your damn magic system and someone skilled in it to put the spell in the trinket. Sword and board skills can be made by crafter. Then all magic systems there has to be a magic slot for an appropriate magic user to put in a perm buff.
    I know thats too hard for SV so make an RNG system and then they aren't required to make a fully flushed out system like TC that isn't in the game completely and they are taking sub money from people.
