I really enjoyed the interview. I never knew that South Africa was the leading maker of mohair!! It's was also really cool that you were talked about on Grocery girls!! Have a great vacation, Peg, and get lots of rest. Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
I received the yarn I ordered on your podcast anniversary discount. I love it and my daughter will love the skeins I plan to gift to her. Thank you. On the question of welts, I suggest putting a lifeline in the row where you will pick up the stitches for the welt. Also you can watch Stephen and he gives good tips for them. I did his Welty shawl. Also my daughter just finished a pengueno for her youngest daughter. I am sure Maeve will look adorable in her pengueno.
Another fun podcast. I look forward to mohair in the store! Happy thanksgiving and enjoy your break. I hope to get to a mill tour someday. I’ll definitely see you in Wayland.
I learned quite a lesson after your millcast. I'm on vacation in Copenhagen and went to a yarn shop where they had Cowgirl Blues, which I'd never heard of before. It was beautiful, but i skipped right over it, incorrectly assuming by the name that it was produced in the US! I vowed not to buy any US yarns in Scandanavia😂😂😂
I was at my LYS today ( Unwind in Brighton, MI) and was pleasantly surprised to see your yarn front and center. Of course, I had to brag that I had been at your mill this summer and met you. By the way, I knew it was making tracks before I saw the label.
Here’s a hack for the Pengweeno/Penguono welts: put a lifeline in the first row of the 10 rows. It makes it a lot easier to see where to pick up the stitches to knit with the live stitches. Although I will admit for my second one, I just did 3 rows of reverse stockinette (with a knit row between) in the 3 colors. Less structure but the visual effect is similar.
Happy Thanksgiving! Nov 30 is a blessed day! It's a great day to get a spinner, and it's my birthday! 😁🤣😂 Amanda you sweater is adorable, but you need to get some barber cords or the knock off hollow rubber jewelry cords - they come in different sizes for big/smaller needles and are a game changer for holding live stitches, provisional cast on or using as an emergency cord.
Oh my . So wonderful. All of the mill cast. one my sticker that was in my purchase( it is on my I pad cover)And the card with your thank you for purchasing... And of course the car and pattern . love it , love it all.
How do you guys protect the yarn on display from moths ? I don’t feel comfortable leaving my stash exposed in my house so sadly it is buried in bags or bins with mothballs 😢😢😢
Your poor daughter, Peggy! lol. I’m a mom to four sons & now have two grandsons with a third due soon! Gimme boys! Lol 😉 Congrats on the spinner - I know I’m behind. ☺️🧶🫶🏻PS: y’all are the FASTEST SHIPPERS EVER! I looooooooove my wool (buttercup, dk) - shipped on day I ordered. Incredible. Thank you! Great interview!!!
That silk mohair is LOVELY! Amanda, your daughter is going to look adorable in that Stephen West jacket!

Love the Pengweeno! I am eagerly waiting for a package from you, maybe I'll have a(nother) Christmas stocking done to hang on the mantelpiece soon!

I made April in Wisconsin, by Meg Swanson (I think) which is a great Fair Isle vest- and suitable for a Midwestern woman!

Great podcast. The South African yarn looks yummy. The little jacket is going to be gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving to both and your families. 🇬🇧
Peg and Amanda, your energy and happiness is infectious! Thank you! I can’t wait to buy some Cowgirl Blues mohair when it’s available on your website.
The Academic by Skeindeer Knits is a really nice fair isle vest.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Great episode, as usual! I would like to suggest the Bruntsfield vest with a V neck or the Cruden vest with a crew neck, both by Ysolda Teague.
Thank you for the suggestions!
You ladies are so delightful! I love watching your videos. Your yarn colors are beautiful!

Loved this broadcast. Happy Thanksgiving!
Remind us please: what's the breed of the ton of fiber that is currently in South Carolina?
It is mostly Border Leicester

We have very limited amount of yarn out on open shelves. Most of our yarn is secured in plastic bags.
