I rarely go with trends. I wear more solid simple colors, stripes and polka dots. I still look nice and put together, but I won’t buy something just because it’s a trend. I still buy from ASOS and H&M, but I make sure to buy things that I can tell it will last a long time. The trends I thought were the worst last year were dad shoes, flared ankle pants, and the wider leg ankle pants. I just can’t with those haha.

I love that you highlighted fast fashion and it’s affect on the planet & society. I stopped shopping at big brand stores and am a fan of buying clothes second hand. Places like Platos Closet, Depop and Poshmark are great ways to get high quality clothes at an affordable price! I live in Florida and had to take a trip up to Virginia in the winter, and found a beautiful, heavy and well made wool coat for $20. You can still have quality pieces without spending tons of money. Also, I agree how insane it is that there seems to be this pressure to continuously upgrade to new pieces for fear of dressing “so last season.” As a professional who has to wear business clothes, a few dress shirts and some quality slacks is more than enough.
100%. I'm not perfect and I will still occasionally shop at those stores, but I've cut down significantly on the pieces I purchase. Platos closet and thrifting is an amazing alternative great for finding classic pieces!
Love Slip Dresses So Much. Totally agree with the fast fashion opinion. I dispise how bad it is. I have stopped buying cheaper low quality clothing and I am currently investing in timeless items.
I actually love a good peplum top! As long as it’s fitted and expensive looking and not cheaply made. Pair it with a straight pencil skirt and some Valentino heels or something, and it’s dressy but not over done. As for high-low- I love high low dresses, NOT SKIRTS- but again, only if they fit well and look really high quality. I think it’s a sexy way to show off a little bit of leg at certain angles- put on some tan body shimmer on your legs and some gorgeous heels and it’s cute! My biggest NO as far as past fashion trends would have to be bedazzled clothes with giant logos or fleur de le’s on them 🤢 pretty much everything at The Buckle, lol! I hate all the bedazzled patterns on clothes.. looks tacky IMO
