Yeah, honestly even if they weren't entirely awful to drink I'd still be interested in seeing the commentary on drinks that are merely bad or unfinished ideas rather than the worst ideas ever.
There's a number of things that Greg brings to the table that no other cocktail youtuber does, but one of the biggest is his excellent tasting notes. They're unique, rarely too out-there, and he delivers them excellently.

Unemployed actually did make one, and said it was the only drinkable Malort cocktail. The espresso covers up most of Malort's harsher flavor notes with coffee bitterness, though the astringent side-tongue burning still exists.
Speaking as someone who lives in Utah, the dirty drinks thing you talked about is real, and it rules. It's one of the very few good things the Mormons have ever given us. There's one that's Dr. Pepper, chocolate syrup, cherry syrup, and half-n-half creamer, and it tastes just like a Black Forest cake, it's the best thing I've ever had.

That Titos one is just a spiked version of an Italian cream soda. I haven't had one in 25 years, but Italian cream sodas were very popular at convenience stores in WA in the early 90s (where every gas station carried 6-20 varieties of torani syrup and kids and Mormons didn't drink coffee).
Before you even took your first sip of number 1, my mind said "A taste of the sea", it also looks like sea water. ALSO GREG, PLEASE, you should make some drinks for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. Great game, great vibes, tons of material to work with.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I like these vastly more than your "intentionally bad drinks" videos, because here, there was a thought process involved that *intended* these drinks to be good, so it's educational to see you break down why they don't work, or, why they surprisingly do, in those rare cases where they're actually not bad.
The Malort esspressotini might be one of the things that benefits from an unconventional garnish - an olive. Salt is one of the ways that you can mitigate bitterness in cooking, so adding a briny note with an olive could soften that bitterness, if you're using unflavoured vodka.

i usually skip in video ads unless its something I might buy but something about this Helix ad was strangely captivating, I couldn't look away lol. It had me literally laugh out loud. Keep kicking ass Greg you are making some funny and entertaining stuff.
Not that it would've made too much of a difference but since you halved the ratio for the daiq-a-marg-a-tini shouldn't you have only put in 2 olives as well?
So tbe Red Bull Mimosa opens up an interesting idea in my head, to get the cool nucleation visual and still have flavor potential: replace the juice with a San Pellegrino style citrus soda instead of red bull. I dont know if it would actually work, but I'm now too curious not to try it
I had a similar thought, that you could play with better sodas. Especially since the DrinkMate will carbonate anything. Something like a French 75, but carbonate before adding the Champagne. Or a Mimosa with clarified, carbonated orange juice.
Walked in on my housemate watching this on the Xbox and NGL that first drink had me thinking this was a mashup episode where you just combine two cocktails together I'd watch that
That'd be kinda interesting because the hard part would be not just picking two drinks that follow the same formula, but also not picking two drinks that have nothing to do with each other.

16:15 ish - I don't often do sweet coffee drinks but one of the best summer coffee's I've had is a similar notion with a shot of espresso, sparkling water, shot of cream, shot of amaretto (or orgeat for non-alcoholic version). I bet adding an espresso shot to that could be alright.
17:30 Considering this is basically a cement mixer and the server had a feminine name. My guess is that the customer got on her bad side and said customer made the mistake of saying something like "surprise me". That's pretty much the reason for the existence of cement mixers
A very nice video, thanks. For personal amusement I will correct/improve two of these: for the MalortEspressotini, cut the M. to 0.75 and increase the vodka to 1.25 for the Reality Mimosa, replace the RedBull with Sprite or Fanta, same effect for bubbles and better taste.
@bartolomeothesatyr Drunken reasons and bc it's what we had handy. We were just back from an OIF tour and I was playing bartender at the barracks. It was either this recipe or more MGD, or Hennessy and cranberry juice.
Hi, made simple syrup on the go the other day. Was still very warm when I made a whisky sour. It made the whole drink fluffy and remain fluffy till the last sip. Just wanted to share 😊
4:26 there’s a lil video glitch - had to double check to see if it was just my eyes deceiving me or not. Otherwise love these videos, it always blows my mind what some people could order
14:00 this is legit just an Irish soda with vodka in it. I get an Irish soda at a local coffee shop here that just soda water, iced lime syrup, and cream. I don’t necessarily know how they do it without it curdling though. I think it also helps that they make their own cream with fresh milk, so it’s more creamy. It’s honestly fantastic, and spiking it sounds INCREDIBLE.
This is by far my favorite series. I personally love it because I order whacky fucked up drinks that I have made at home, but ONLY if I have been to the bar before and know the bartender. It is fun to experiment and I've always been met with a confused smile followed by a "yuuh sure?!? Alright, enjoy... LOL!" 9/10 it has been a good drink.
When I make espresso martinis I always do: 2 parts coffee liquer, 1 part vanilla vodka, dash of coffee. Then, alternatively, you can always add some cream or irish cream.
I’ve never had a Red Bull “mimosa”, but our New Years Eve parties do not start until everyone toasts with an “Ultimate Celebration” which is half of a bottle of 5 hour energy topped with champagne. Flavor of your choice. I’m a fan, but it tastes like it sounds.
Just from the order I saw in the thumbnail, I'm convinced people are ordering these things just to get one over on you, Greg. A Malört Espressotini? My condolences...
I always saw the "dirty soda" thing as a riff on the milk-and-Pepsi beverage Laverne loved in "Laverne & Shirley." I will say that, when my sister and I were kids, we did get on a milk & Pepsi kick thanks to that show. What can I say, we were impressionable.
Having grown up Mormon and still being somewhat connected to them (my immediate being faithful to said religion), I didn't know what you were talking about with dirty soda, but now that you've explained it, yes, absolutely. It is a decently big thing among Utahn youth particularly, I hear from my cousins over there.
I already have a mattress suitable for confining my reposing corpus during the ritual of slumber whilst my wandering subconscious probes the contours of Stygian shores as yet undiscovered, but if I didn't, that ad read would definitely have had me checking out your sponsor. Never stop being you!
Y'know, the last one being genuinely good has given me an idea. "The customer MIGHT be wrong", a video wherein you choose a cocktail from the skull, and it has a 50/50 shot of being good or bad.
When I do a Jager old fashioned it's actually mostly rye... 1.5oz rye whiskey, .5oz jager, a barspoon or so of simple, orange bitters(I go heavy but 2-3 dashes will be fine for most people)
if you're in NJ, id love to see you work with the spirits from 3br distillery in Keyport. they're doing super interesting stuff and are a great group of people
I can see a case for adding Sour cream to a drink. I've sometimes used yoghurt in drinks with citrus to give them body and texture without curdling from cream.

So you're low on simple syrup because you're lazy but you recently made Mt Dew chips and Doritos liquor? Strangely enough, that tracks.
simple syrup is just not exciting anymore
i mean yeah. too lazy to make a staple bar ingredient but not lazy enough to not pursue the dopamine of a stupid challenge
Also, an alternate name for the Champagne and Red Bull: the High School Reunion.
i really hope you do more of these cuz its honestly my favorite. its so interesting to see what weird concoctions ppl come up with
Daig-a-marg-a-tini sounds like what a bitter divorce would taste like.
When I make espresso martinis I always do: 2 parts coffee liquer, 1 part vanilla vodka, dash of coffee. Then, alternatively, you can always add some cream or irish cream.
That was the best helix ad ever
That's how you do an Ad integration! 😂
Also did Greg just make one of the most entertaining ad-read Ive ever seen, idk who this Lovecraftian spoken Hobo man is but I dig him.
YES!!! THE SKULL OF DOOM
The Customer is Always Wrong is far and away my fave "series" on HTD! Love seeing more cursed receipts lol
Having grown up Mormon and still being somewhat connected to them (my immediate being faithful to said religion), I didn't know what you were talking about with dirty soda, but now that you've explained it, yes, absolutely. It is a decently big thing among Utahn youth particularly, I hear from my cousins over there.
Forget the youth, it’s the soccer mom set. Half my neighborhood is downing at least one 40 ouncer a day.
The vibe for these episodes is "Ordinary Sausage, but Mixology". What a cursed crossover that would be.
"Leeeeet's cocktail~!"
3:00 RIP Monetization
The rapid-fire jokes when the cooks champagne came out had me laughing so hard!10/10 delivery. Thanks for another great video, love watching these :)
Torture Greg, time is Back !!
Honestly, loved the ad on this one! You clearly put a lot of effort into it!
These are my favorites... your pain is my pleasure.
And Marredith's tasting notes just make it all the sweeter.
Once again, the best and most unhinged ad breaks to hit the tube! 🤣🤣🤣
When I do a Jager old fashioned it's actually mostly rye... 1.5oz rye whiskey, .5oz jager, a barspoon or so of simple, orange bitters(I go heavy but 2-3 dashes will be fine for most people)
This was the best add I have ever seen for a Helix Sleep Mattress. I got a hell of a kick out of it great work Greg!
Greg it had been awhile since I watched a video from you. Awesome job on the weight loss you look great. Keep it up!
if you're in NJ, id love to see you work with the spirits from 3br distillery in Keyport. they're doing super interesting stuff and are a great group of people
The malort espressotini makes sense to me... I don't crave bitterness and wouldn't go for it but I'd try it
So glad Drinkmate is sponsoring now. I bought one a year ago on your praise, but haven't tried it out yet.
A daiquiri with a salted rim could definitely be interesting. I love eating salty liquorice with wine gum.
Greg, love the Cooks & Bull reaction. Feel it is worth trying, even if painful.
"No barspoon, only knife." Is a great phrase for these Customer Is Always Wrong episodes.
I can see a case for adding Sour cream to a drink. I've sometimes used yoghurt in drinks with citrus to give them body and texture without curdling from cream.
