As a retired soldier you have too many unshielded wires that can develop a high voltage charge that will damage the ECU. The battery is unprotected being they are not enclosed in a metal box. With EMPS the vehicle should be connected to a ground rod that is at least 6ft into the grounds wet level. Attach a strap from your truck to this grounding rod any tyme its parked at your home. Their are a lot of dynamics to a nuke being dropped, the air and earth in the close vicinity of the drop will have a very high charge in the air and ground. Our military vehicles are highly protected and have heavy duty emp rated electronic circuits. Your ecu will survive if its disconnected from the two wiring harnesses.
