That’s how a review should be done, easily the best I’ve seen for the NT1100. This is a bike I would consider for future purchase. You’ve everything pretty much covered, so no questions. Well done 👍
Well I've watch this review a few times (and many others) but found it to be the most balanced and real time use feedback, well done, love the channel. Anyways, been looking for (and testing all sorts of bikes), the NT fitted the best, but in manual. Found the DCT lacking in the twisty stuff not being quite where it needed it to be, think the lack of the IMU is a big factor. Finally picked up a new NT in manual. Crikey its proven to be a do everything bike and importantly, puts a smile on my dial everytime. Thanks for your review, was really helpful, cheers
One small point (and I've had my NT1100 for 7 months now ) you've said the same as several other reviewers I've seen, that the Android Auto/ Apple Car Play requires a headset. This isn't the case and the apps will work without it. You will however have no sound or voice interaction. I use Google Maps on the Bike screen all the time with no headset. Thanks for the great review though and especially your 'off road' section which gives me confidence that I can do it if required.
Have recently watched many Honda NT 1100 reviews - this by ABR by far the best - thanks for putting this video together. Test ride arranged for later this month - if all goes well, will place a deposit but for the manual. 👍
Excellent review, you have informed me honestly with great insights to how does it feel to live with. I subscribed straight away, cant wait to checkout other reviews. Well done that man.
Great unbiased thorough review. You’ve definitely put it on my radar, I will take it for a test ride. I commute 120km a day, all year through. Mostly 50% highway, sometimes 90% highway, going from one dense city to another. I currently own a BMW GS. Mainly because of the resale value (I keep my bikes only 3 years,(tax deduction reasons) and the shaft drive. There seem to be a lot of pro’s and only two cons to this bike, being: chain and height. I’m also 6’2 and even have to max out the suspension on the GS to make it high enough for me. And I’m lazy and have a busy life, not willing to bother with chain maintenance. But there do seem to be enough pro’s to give it a spin. Thank you for putting your time into this, and give your well balanced thoughts. Take care, ride safe.
Despite several almost "unfair" reviews of the Nt, when it arrived, it became the best-selling touring bike in Europe in 2023! This is the best review I have seen of the Nt 1100. Several have made fun of the LCD screen and only drove in "D" and thought the machine was lazy. This proves there are quite a few rogue reviewers out there. They just want to be first - get likes and skip to the next review! I bought mine in 2022 and have driven 20,000km. Mostly uses sport 1 mode and uses Apple CarPlay and has "the world's best and largest navigation screen" Much better than all other Gps. Then the LCD screen comes to its right - and yes, the fuel indicator is missing on the screen. However, it only takes a second to switch from navigation to the standard screen with all the information. Several have asked about a top box and driving with a passenger. Nt'n works great 👍 Well balanced, plenty of space and I don't notice that my wife is sitting on it. For me this is a perfect touring machine. I often ride on dirt roads, so I have fitted 80/20 tires (asphalt/gravel) and feel that Nt is the brother of Afrika Twin 👍 This bike has everything 💪 And not least, it has perhaps the best wind protection you can get, originally fitted 👍
i just boughted for next season perl white dct my first big bike this winter need to make drivers license and im very exited i love this bike i tought buying the africa twin but was to big
Great Review. I have the Honda NT 1100 and is a wonderfull bike and I love it. I have the DCT version and find the Android Auto and screen a very nice feature, and good to see you have it in operation. Only ever had my screen in one position (High) manual adjustment is no issue for me. Regarding the wind deflectors for your hands I can confirm they work really well. in -5c at 60mph and heated grips on hands are comfortable. Switchgear you get used to it and does as you say become second nature. Had mine about 4 months now and can say your review is spot on in every way. Well worth a view. Cheers
I have watched dozens of NT videos and yours is the best I have seen and I could even understand your accent better than the others. I just sold my large VTwin American Victory Cruiser that was very comfortable but a mother to move around especially with the wife on pillion. I have written to Honda several times telling them to hurry up and bring the NT to the USA and Canada. Your next video should be with a passenger. Let us know how she likes it and how hard it is to mount and dismount. Also try to have the top box to see how she likes it and showing us how two helmets fit in it. No one has done a video with the pillion info. I will subscribe and watch for your next segment. 😎
Thank you Easy Rider, really appreciate the comment. I've taken the NT out with a pillion on a few occasions and the report from the back seat has been that it's a comfortable and roomy perch. This was without the top box though, which I'm sure would make it even better. I'll see if we can get hold of a top box and report back.
A very nice review, thank you. I'm sorely tempted by this bike. I bought a "chiguee" for my Tiger 900 GT to get Android Auto, and can confirm - you don't want to be without it after trying it out.
I see this as a sort of mini-Goldwing, obviously designed for tarmac not off-roading. A very capable and distinctive alternative to the normal Adventure-Tourers so popular today.
A great, thorough, and thoughtful review is just what we needed! At 22:35, you easily pedaled, as was obvious. On the other hand, there are numerous complaints about jerky throttle; what is your experience? Thanks in advance; all the best.
I can only speak from experience of using the DCT version of the NT1100. While you're getting used to the twist-and-go nature of the bike, it can be pretty jerky, but before long you adapt, and I found it to be nice and smooth. The manual might be different though, of course.
Getting there slowly honda ,needs improvement before I would buy one, unadjustable seat , tank too small, and it needs to be improved in the looks dept, someone said it looks like a big scooter,I agree
This was a very thorough review, thank you so much. However. This weekend I went watching one that was in the window of the big HONDA dealer and just like I don't like it on pictures or video, I also found it very boring in real. Can't say it is an actractive "sports" tourer. I ride a 2016 Triumph Tiger Sports 1050 and although this was the last iteration of a rather old design, it has lots more charisma with its single side swingarm and beautiful crafted ( speed triple ) 3 cilinder. About that engine. Again the 2 cilinder sounds boring and doesn't seem to have a lot of grunt compared to the 1050 Triumph 3 cilinder. It is a touring bike, but so is the Tiger sports and that one is also very smooth, but pulls like crazy if you really ask it. All in all , I have zero attraction to this bike and I am sure it is a very versatile tool that does a lot very well, but in the end, I want a bike that I will look back too if I walk away after parking it. There has to be a bit of passion and saddly HONDA did not do it for me. Pitty, because the Africa twin does look a lot more fresh, but I am not looking for an adventure bike with taller wheels
Thx for the verry nice review! I ordered mine end november2022, will have the bike mid april, looking forward to it. I am 6"3' how high would you buy the spacers for the handlebars? Thx and kind regards from Belgium.
That's a good question and one I can't answer as I still haven't got round to fitting them. Best thing would be to wait and see how it feels for you after riding it.
Very nice review and now I'm even more convinced to trade my Honda NC 750 DCT for a NT 1100 DCT. Question : with Apple CarPlay, how can you follow self made tracks, which app do you use for that ? Now I have a Tom Tom Rider 500 to create and follow tracks...
One of the best reviews. I chang crf1100l Adventure sports dct to nt1100. I had some heating issues on my right leg. So I had sold it a buy crf1100l again. Don't you have any issues?
I agree an excellent review. However, I won't be taking your advice to get a test ride on one.....because I've already bought one! After three years of Africa Twin ownership, where the only offroading I did, was a long gravel drive. The NT is best bike I've ever owned. The only niggle I have, is that the "always on" front indicators cast an orange light onto the wind deflectors at night, which I find distracting. However, I've only made one long night jouney so far and may find I'll get used to it.
There are just a few things missing that would this bike perfect for me. Heated seat, shaft drive and electric movable screen (when in traffic this would involve lane splitting where you want to have a clear view on the front wheels of cars). Note I commute year round in Dutch climate.
@@jamesmcmillan2656 Unfortunately this will not be likely. I'm not expecting they will do a redesign of the engine. I would immediately add a chain oil dripper to get that somewhat better. The electronic screen and heated seat might be options that could be fairly easy added. 💪🏻😎👍🏻
The comment is for Honda. A touring motorcycle with a chain??? If you didn't want to add the cost and weight of a shaft I understand. Did the thought ever cross your mind of a belt drive? I'm 70 years old, at the end of a 600 mile day I'm not wanting to be on me knees adjusting and lubing a chain!!
Ive done 4500 kms on mine now and have not needed to adjust the chain as it is still within spec. Just cleaned it a few times which is no problem. Its a beautiful bike . The best i have ever owned in 40 years of riding.
Its more of a tourer than a tracer 9 but most of these tourers dont have shaft drive i love mine 2002 fjr only a newer one or a gtr could replace it, this is cool its a bit scooterish front and two cilinder engine never owned one
tak nejak si predstavujem uzasnu recenziu kde citim tvoj pocit aj ja. dakujem naozaj to bol pre mna zazitok sledovat a tesim sa na moju NT ktora je objednana..:)
I presume you meant 238/248 kgs, rather than the figures you quoted. I feel this is another opportunity Honda has blown. They could have made an RT alternative, god knows the market needs one, with the Pan being abandoned, alongside the GTR and FJR. The RT currently has no competition. The first and major drawback is the chain drive. Having kept faith with shaft on the Deauville for so long (and on the VFR 1200) why did Honda choose this moment to drop it? That alone rules out the bike for me. But there are other issues. It's got a rather cheap, ugly, bland appearance and the screen on your bike looks rather small compared to the one on my RT. I'm not bothered about the switchgear because you get used to any bike's idiosyncrasies it if you buy one. But overall I think a late model Deauville would be a better budget tourer than this.
It’s better than the 1100 African sport but no st1300a replacement, heck it’s not even a st1100 replacement , Honda give us a st replacement that’s shaft drive other than the overpriced gold wing entry , and put a bigger colour digital dash than two screen setup that android auto /Apple car play built in . Heck use the cb1000 engine
This is hands down one of the best reviews I’ve had the pleasure of watching. A job well done 👍🏻
Thanks Plum always appreciated

Very good review. I love how natural it presented. Great job, thank you.

Hey Martin congrats on your NT1100 glad you enjoy it! We at the office couldnt agree more it's a fantastic bike
I spraypainted mine at the inside in mat black...problem solved 👍
Can you switch the TFT off and run just on the LCD?
We've just had a fiddle and mess around with the settings and can't see a way to turn it off. Why would you want to?
@@ABRmagazine Minimise sources of stray light and distraction. I like the option to have a clean, minimalist interface.
Great review, however, with regards to the tft screen when inputting postcodes for sat nav useage, how is this done?
If you're stationary you can use the touchscreen keyboard. When you're moving you do it through Siri (or the Google alternative)

electric windscreen adjustment? How decadent
@@carlosandleon Well if all GT's of BMW can do it. Even the BMW C650GT has this. It would be a Honda sin not to do this too. 😎

Nice review. But the audio was painfully bad.
148kg? 248 surely? I almost had my credit card out for a moment there for a 148kg 1100cc touring bike.
248kg is correct, Bryn was feeling particularly strong on that day so forgot an extra 100kg from the specs!
😂😂😂

The silver bolt front ...🤔 what ever !
Glad I kept My 2006 ST 1300. 😂
NT1100 looks like Hondas take on the original Suzuki V strom 1000, 20 years later and just as ugly. V strom had better engine though

Stop the tantalizing! We here in the land of the free May never see this bike. Arrrghhh!
