I remember several things about that game: - the block itself - it was his 30k points milestone game - it was against the Bulls for some poetic irony - that block was so critical it contributed to the clutch win
Coach Dean Smith system isn’t really great for individual stats to stand out. But Coach Dean Smith teaches great fundamentals and team play. You can see that translated so well. With so many UNC players in the NBA and HoF produced during Coach Dean Smith time at UNC.
For those that were not or have not paid any attention to MJ’s abilities in this video or in his NBA videos, check out MJ blocking-stealing-dunking-doing lay ups with his LEFT HAND…MJ was doing the 2-hand steals at UNC which explains why we saw him doing that in his Historic Bulls Mixtape video on multiple occasions…everything we saw in MJ’s mixtape video, he was already doing in college, just amazing how fundamentally sound his game was at an early age…👽👍
I have a question why we can found like a ton of video of jordan's highlights but so few of LeBron's ? Where is the Bron's vault ? I remember watching one, and they were talking and talking and talking more. No eye test. Where are those Bron mixtapes? Why so many people are reacting to jordan's highlight or even Bird's, but I don't remember them once react to Bron ? Even bron's fans don't react to bron's clips. Oh no, I'm wrong I forgot about the lowlights, AOH and co... So to be fair where are the mj lowlights, where is the guy that can show that like AOH? They try , no left, done with the 90s, dpoy, podcasts, etc... Debunk each Times but once again more talking than showing....
close one between Maravich, Kareem, Kermit Washington and Bill Walton for best college career. Dean Smith actually told Doug Collins the Bulls head coach, that MJ would be more suited to play pointguard, when in a 11 game stretch MJ averaged a triple double, including 10 triple doubles in that 11 game stretch. MJ also played on that team with Sleepy Sam Perkins and Big Game James Worthy. that block at 20:14 is Sam Perkins, not MJ.
pawelgorniak8550:. It would be Kareem no doubt. Kareem's record in college was 88-2 with three NCAA National Championships. He won a championship all three years that he was eligible to play varsity basketball. Freshmen were ineligible to play varsity basketball then.
My dad and uncles favorite college player was NC States David Thompson but MJ was their goat. The reason for so much zone wasn't to stop MJ it was because of worthy/Perkins the Perkins/daughtery and the Dean Smith inside out 2 bigs to dominate the paint style of play.
Damn that one didn't even hit the glass yet hahahaha. Of course we're all reminded of Wizards MJ, I remember watching that one live and just pacing around the room. Thanks Mike.
Yep, Kareem beat the defending champs UCLA with his Bruins freshman team, and he only ever lost one game, by one point, in the Astrodome against Elvin Hayes when he couldn’t see right after being poked in the eye. Kareem and Bill Walton were the ultimate college winners.
That rock the cradle was new to everyone. My brother in law watched it live and said everyone was calling about it after the game. BTW that's Kenny Smith who he should have passed to and had to run laps for not.
I don't recall the moon shoes but I do remember the pumps. They had a small basketball on the tongue that functioned as an air pump and supposedly they helped you jump but not really. I still get a laugh when I think about Wesley Snipes pumping up Woody's shoe in White Men Can't Jump.
@anthonywarfield7348 I had a pair of the pumps and if I'm not mistaken they were called: "Reebok Pumps" and it had the 🏀 on the tongue that you keep pushing (to pump the shoe up). We were kneeling pumping up both basketball 🏀's at the same time 😆😆....yet they felt like you had air in your shoes as if it was water 💦 in them.
I absolutely hate the term “two way player.” Everyone who plays the game plays offense and defense. It’s just to dilute someone’s argument to boost X player up. We never used that in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. It’s either you could play or not.
Kareem (Lew Alcindor) has to in the talks of best college players. When they change the rules (no dunks) says a lot. 3× NCAA champion (1967-1969) 3× NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player (1967-1969) 3× National college player of the year (1967-1969)
The one thing that really separates MJ from Lebron is how coachable MJ is. Yes, he did have coaches in the NBA that just let him do his thing when he did not have a team around him but when you get the one of the best players to buy in to a system to win, you know you got someone special.
A game that should be watched: 29 January 1983 - UNC 72-Georgia tech 65, MJ scored 39pts (slightly inflated by ACC's experimental 17.9 ft 3pt line - basically an NBA midrange), more than half of the points of the team. If NBA teams were on to recruit HS players as it was since the 90's, he'll probably had done as well as rookies Kobe (for shure) or Lebron.
Jordan in College was akin to the Kraken in the modern day Clash of The Titans movie while the great Dean Smith was akin to Zeus in that same movie! I’ll give you another analogy Jordan in College was akin to Goku training in the gravity chamber & training under weights. The great Dean Smith was the gravity & the weights in which Goku was training under.
The great Coach Dean Smith had the Goat Jordan on a leash in College which taught Jordan valuable lessons! Once Jordan arrived to the NBA he was unleashed!
@ Great reaction video! The two favorite plays in this original description video was the catch & shoot all at the same time in the air swish shot which was ridiculous plus the hockey assist. Oh and also all his defensive plays!
The main thing that stands out to me in this video is MJ doesn't take a "gather" step. It's either a 1 step dunk or 1 step, 2 step dunk. THAT shows how lame-ass current day basketball rules are. The gather step is for players that can't dunk properly. By the way, I believe that block at #5 was against Ralph Sampson. Not exactly a short guy, heh. Call me biased, but I'd love to watch your reaction to Jonny Arnett, or BTM's George Gervin videos.
I strongly recommend this video about Shaq and Kobe -- ua-cam.com/video/V0XztdD5fUc/v-deo.htmlsi=wM5HwZCjpOKQc1K6 You'll be chopping onions by the end.
MJ didn't get drafted as a nr1 because it was the age of the big men. They wanted the biggest dudes for defending the basket in the paint, the rough stuff. MJ was too good for the big lads though 😁
You need to react to this authentic LBJ fan discovery of MJ's greatness. He left youtube after ua-cam.com/video/4o2kBqNvQf4/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared This is one of the first authentic realizations on film. He truly thought he would have vindicated LBJ's GOAT status by deep diving MJ's receipts. What he found shattered his reality, and we get to see it in real time.
MJ did that same 2 handed block to someone at age 40 on the Wizards - comparing him to LeBiogenesis is a bad joke.
Not LeBiogenesis 🤣🤣😭😭
LeBiogenesis!
Ron Mercer

14:17 Bobby Knight also said, when prompted that many teams need a center, he said “Well, draft him and play him at center then” 😂
I’ve been watching groovy since your first reaction. It’s fun watching him become an old head in real time
Same here. I love picking up new channels from here, and groovy is one of the most fun to watch.
Lol I wonder if he sees the 2024 nba differently now
Groovy is hilarious 😂Duncan was also a beast in college.
Michael Jordan was not human 🔥

I’ve never seen that catch and adjustment mid-air shot, so beautiful to see.
The 27th clip, the opposition hit his leg as he was dunking thru, then he lost footing landing.
Notice the number 1 highlight, he had a left hand too.
That two-handed block made him the greatest of all time pun intended 😂😂😂😂😂
😆
This was fun, as always 💪🏽 keepem coming
Thank you!
Grand rising family let the MJ video begin, have a great day one and all

That is a good point. I'm sure there are LeBron highlights but I don't see reactions to them. I see old head reactions.

Ed Cota🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣for real, loved him when I was a kid.
He got Ralph Sampson at around the 18 minute mark
Yeah, I noticed that, too. Think it was the #5 highlight.
Ralph Sampson was athletic 7’4, would’ve been one of the great NBA players if those knees would’ve held up!

Jordan came from college been a goat
Pistol Pete is also from NC 😂

Scoring-wise, it must be Pete in college. Most winnings pre-pro I think is Kareem.
Could u react 2 a video called NBA Legends Eviscerate Lebron James by MVP.
Sounds fun lol
Lebron didn't start doing that it's MJ!
how could they leave out his game winner for the championship?
Kareem the best ever in college Pistol Pete was second
Agreed
Yeah Kareem was so dominant they banned dunking for 10 years.
It’s sad how mind-blown kid is a guy plays hard on defense.
