    “If I was in my prime, who would I want to play 1-on-1? Um, that list is very long. Start off with Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant in his prime, LeBron in his prime, D-Wade in his prime….Melo. That’s a good start. I don’t think I lose….other than Kobe Bryant because he steals all my moves.” -Michael “The GOAT”Jordan 🐐of🏀

    Reporter: “Who beat you in 1-on-1 if it ever happened in practice?”
    Kobe Bryant: (shakes his head) “No one. I’m not trying to be like you know, but that’s what I do. If there’s gonna be a player that beat me…he retired on that last shot in Utah ‘98.”

      @@ebogar42 he took more jump shots and less layups than your top 10. I guess DeAndre Jordan is in your top 10 since his field goal percentage is the best ever. I respect the player who can shoot and go to the basket then a player who can only go to the basket.

    When MJ said “Feel the Defense with your legs, then you can take advantage of that,” you can see Kobe’s acknowledgement shaking his head.
    Like “Okay, let me think about one for a minute.” It’s almost a biblical phrase from the GOAT that only a few will EVER understand.

    • @TheRealMindCrime

      Yeah he did. He kearned from that moment and when you watch Kobe adapt his post game in the years following that you can see him improve that 100x.

    When you listen to Kobe talk, when you watch him play, you want to pick up a basketball and go annihilate somebody on the court... the love he has is THAT motivating. He's the last of that kind. There are still great talents in the NBA, but we have no ambassadors of the game left and that's why it's dying

    I was a Spurs/Mavericks fan in the Kobe era. A Hakeem fan first and foremost, so I respected Kobe but never rooted for him. Now I miss him because he was the closest thing to MJ we seen still. That mentality man. Kobe not being ranked top 5 over Lebron is a real mind crime man.

    Gotta understand Kobe went from Italy to Philly at age 12-13 for 8th grade to 12th grade , he picked up that semi philly accent but it faded away the longer he was away cuz he wasnt even truly from Philly so his accent wasnt deep as a true Philly native , he was in like a outside suburb of philly and dont forget it was a time early in his career where he wanted to mimick MJ to the max and he started stealing MJ’s speech pattern , so Kobe really has jus been a product of his environment as far as accents

    Let’s be honest here, if someone is a casual fan of basketball who’s just getting into the game, if they flip on the TV in the 90s and they see that the Bulls are playing, their mind immediately goes to MJ. Fast forward to the 2000s, if the Lakers are playing, it’s Shaq and Kobe. It may or may not have been fair, but teams have never attracted people to the game; superstars did. They broke down the doors and everything else followed.

    • @TheRealMindCrime
      @TheRealMindCrime  3 дні тому +1

      Exactly. I remember going through a state to state move during thr time where lebron went to the lakers. I had no idea and was out of the nba loop. I went to a bar after i settled in to watch a lakers/blazers game and was shocked to see him in purple and gold. Thats when i realized how much it all changed.

Was nice hearing him elaborate on how both of them were trained for success. Seeing Ahmad Rashad, there's a old group interview of him with MJ, Serena Williams, Derek Jeter, Roy Jones Jr. and I forgot who was for football (wasn't Brady). Kobe 5 rings 7 Trips, 62 in 3 quarters, 56 in 3 quarters, 52 in 3 quarters, 60 in last game, 55 vs MJ (2nd most vs MJ), 55 Pts in 1 Half (KD & Kareem Career High 55) .. 12 3s in a game NBA record (B4 Curry nd Klay broke it with KD and GSW)..... Kareem 10 Trips, 6 rings, 6 MVPs, FMVP 2nd season & Oldest FMVP ever 38, 2nd most points ever, 3rd most blocks & rebounds ever, most assist by a center ever . Won with every Team he played with NBA, college and High school.... Funny MJ says u only got 3 I got 6 lols funny when LeBron got his third ring he announced to the world he's now the GOAT . LeBron went to 3 more Finals after ring number 3 wins 1 more to make 4, Kobe went to 3 more wining the only back to back titles with out a Top 75 team to reach 5. I was hoping he would get at least 1 awhile back. And who knows, if he and KD pulled it off. Maybe, KD doesn't go the super team, team hopping route like he has.
