Christopher Nolan's work in dark knight trilogy is way ahead of its time. The batmobile, batpod and batcopter he used are just awesome. He did true justice to world greatest superhero.
One thing i love about The Dark Knight trilogy is the smart use of cgi. Granted some shots are noticeable but they never take away from the experience. Testimony to the use of practical effects and having cgi to enhance and fill the gaps you cant pull off practically.
Nolan's Batmobile is my favorite, no fancy streamlines, no flashy lights and decor, just tough armor and brutal strength. It's not what everyone wanted to see, but it's everything Batman need.
Batfleck's Batmobile is a spiritual hybrid of the two Batmobiles that are considered the best: Keaton's Batmobile and the Tumbler. It has a low profile (when its suspension is lowered) and a proportionally thin and stylishly shaped chassis - like Keaton's; and its size, durability, military weaponry, and control system are like those of a tank - much like the Tumbler. So, it's literally the best of both worlds.
I always had questions Batmobile in Nolan trilogy was too eye catching and it was military vehicle,so I always thought why no one else found it out questionable that no one was able trace it back. Also the Batmobile in Matt reves version looked heavily modified and possibilities of it getting traced back was small.I mean only one guy was able to spot it.
I'm so grateful that practical effects are still around. CGI and VFX are very useful tools and have given us amazing scenes and movies, but wherever you can do it for real, do it, it is worth it. One of the reason I love Nolan
The Nolan Batmobile showed up on top gear a while before the release of Batman Begins and I remembered the whole hangar screaming in glee when they showed off the real afterburner at the back spitting flames
The tumbler will always be my favorite Batmobile, If I had a million dollars I would buy one or build one myself (they are actually available to buy for more money than most sports cars).
Nolan's tumbler closely resembles the comic DKR batmobile. It's also my favorite. Although I saw it on Leno's Garage and the actual thing sounded like a whole formula 1 race by itself.
