This is absolutely gorgeous. I saw Barbara Cook when she came to London in 1986 and fell in love with her voice. I've sung along to her now for nearly 40 years, she's still an inspiration.

This concert is, as is the one in Melbourne, beyond wonderful! Is UA-cam the ONLY place we can hear and watch these Barbara Cook treasures? I'd love to have a CD, or something of my own to play whenever! Seems strange that these concerts are not available on CD or tape, ya know!!! Serious longing!

Did you ever end up getting any of her CD's ?

@@Ifnotnowthenwhen-r8s As far as I know, there are no CDs of Drury Lane Concert. I have had the DVD of Barbara's Melbourne Concert for a few years, but the on line site where I found it no longer exists. I'll have to settle for listening to the Drury Lane Concert here, on You Tube. if you find a resource where I can get a copy, let me know! :)

We see here what a great artist she was.She was a great and active Living Legend .Now she is gone and much missed. She talked about Judy Garland, Mabel Mercer and Frank Sinatra and she was a s great as they were.

I can listen to Barbara Cook all day and night - she sings with clear diction and strong feelings and captures the mood and meaning of every song - love her and Michael Feinstein as well

I was at this performance. The audience were 110% behind her. The energy was electric. I was lucky enough to see her perform many times in both London and New York. It's wonderful to hear the full concert again. Sad to think she would be condemned today for her positive comments about the Roosevelt statues.

This orchestra is outstanding, & really swings! I love how they play "It's Better with a
Band"--much the best of all the versions! Barbara, as always, superb!!!

I just listened to the extraordinary, exhilarating "Porgy & Bess" medley, again, & for the umpteenth time, and HOLY HANNAH...it is beyond resplendent!!! Barbara is transcendent, my heart is in my throat! Brava!!!

I was there that night, with hideous jet lag, but I couldn't waste the ticket. A magical night. We had seen her two years earlier at the old Sadler's Wells, and as great as that was, this was even better.

What a magical experience it is to be able to listen to this concert. Barbara was one of the greatest singers of all time. She’s missed greatly. I heard her the last time in NewYork in 2010 with Michael Feinstein at his cabaret room at Lowe’s Regency Hotel. It was a very special experience.
His voice was still exquisite. We miss you Barbara.

One of God's true masterpieces; Barbara Cook. One day I'll tell her how much she meant to me, and inspired me, but only when we dream again

As always Barbara Cook gives an excellent performance. Her voice so pure, excellent vocal technique, diction spot on coupled with a brilliant understanding of the lyrics, really does not get better than this.No justice in the world, vocally superior to Barbra Streisand (am a fan of Streisand) just as good when 'telling the story' of a song, but Ms.Cook record sales minimal when compared to Ms.Streisand.
