Love the blade .. not so much the handle
I have the thumb stud version of this. I bought mine used and the micarta has darkened but I’m sure it started out like yours. Mine looks like the blade coating was over a stone wash so it has a nice flat appearance. Mine has a large sharpening choil that your version is missing.
I like mine fine enough but don’t think I would be happy if I paid full price for it. The pointed top scale doesn’t bother me much because of how I find I need to position my hand to stay off the frame lock when deploying it. It’s actually easier to reverse flick on the back thumb stud which is almost never the case for me. The worst quirk to me is the release. I don’t like dropping the corner of the choil on my thumb nail so I have to find the sweet spot before I let off the lock bar and drop it the rest of the way.
Over all it is a great knife. Just a bit over priced to me.
I agree it's not worth $400, but I'm good with half that! I'm after a scapegoat next I think!
