i believe you might have gotten a fluke. I saw another one with a 5/24 production date that tested an avery of 59 HRC. Microtech doesn't take criticism well, if at all, so it's interesting that everyone is holding out for them to better their teat treat.

What is your favorite folder steel?

A knife like this should be on the top end of the HRC standards. Otherwise, using a designer ultra steel is pointless. Dagger/double edged/fine tipped blades and bushcraft/chopper knives need a little more toughness. I can understand a point or two lower HRC *IF* it actually increases toughness. Thanks for the review! I snagged an ABW M1 BL a few months ago. It quickly became one of my absolute favorite knives, (as an EDC cutter), and a FANTASTIC choice to “fidget” with as well. It’s the best button lock on the market imo, and second place ain’t close. 👍

I don't get your 'para military 2 XL.' The Military was there first, and this is the 2nd gen with a different lock. That's all there's to it. Otherwise, good little review. 👍

Missed out on this model. I was late to the Manix fan club, thinking that the Para 3 was my goldilocks Sypderco. I bought a Manix during a sale and it's nearly perfect for me ergonomically and the blade shape allows for multiple applications.

Yes they are. Was my first Spyderco. Although I don’t carry them much anymore. With the Military 2 and Stretch 2 XL Cruwear and Native Chief as a bit bigger knives,they have been my “go too” for edc as of late. Still have 25 or so pm2’s. And will get more 👍🏻

That folder is fun to look at, and I do like big crazy knives, but it's a bit more than I would carry. If you hadn't said it, I would never have guessed the OTF was cheaper. And I definitely would carry that OTF.

Microtech doesn't make knives for me, and I'm okay with that cuz im broke enough lol

We all get in to a spot we have to sale stuff to get by at some point but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Its how we respond is whats important.
