Dodge and Mazda are planning to hit them with their own versions next year. Ford will cry when their sales numbers drop even more. There are one or two videos of a baby Ram coming out soon.
EPA regulations caused production to not be feasible because they have to avg certain mpg across all lines and that number needs to be in line profitability. As always blame government.
My biggest issue with videos that show "this truck starts at ONLY..." is that NO ONE can buy at that price. In my area, just try and find a Maverick anywhere NEAR that price point, ain't happening. The dealerships suck and are still overcharging. So, I'll keep my little car until they go back to spinning signs on the corner with HUGE discounts below sticker.
I searched online and the lowest price I could find is $29,000 with all the others going for farrr over $35,000. Uh uh. Ford can choke on their already mega bloated inventory of fatass F150s. I won't spend $30,000 for a Maverick.
I was in my local Ford dealership today, ordering my '24 Maverick XLT ( total price $29,410 ). As we were finalizing the order, my salesman got a text from a customer who had ordered a '23 XLT. The person had lost his job, & would be unable to afford the truck he ordered. My salesman asked me to look over the spec's / options on the '23 that had already been ordered & has an October build date. Long story short , l ended up accepting the '23 ( it was even the same color as the '24 l was ordering, & got it for the $26K MSRP. Saved $2800 on MSRP over the '24, & l should have the truck by December 😁😁😁
dodge has a global truck similar to this...all of them do, but none can hold any weight to the maverick nor do they offer in north america... they are built specifically for places like s america with 1.3l engines... most only make 100hp

I figured out why there is such a shortage of MAVERICKS. A few months after intro, FORD reported they were STUNNED at how popular their new mini truck was. They had no idea. ALSO, the article stated FORD was also was surprised at the purchasing group. Most Mavericks were being bought by BUSINESSES. Again, FORD was greatly surprised the business sector had a use for a mini truck, but the sales totals do not lie. Hell, my little coastal town has 2. Our little county has 3. And I just learned UHAUL has a bunch. Not every location has them but they are out there. So commercial customers are snapping them up and we consumers are having to wait,. My brother in law has been waiting a YEAR & was just informed it will arrive as a 2024. maybe. Long wait still tho. Be patient Ford told him. I'm going to rent one from Uhaul as no dealerships have any. !
Affordable? Dealers have $15,000 markups if you can find one. I would love to trade in my RAM for a small truck but these manufacturers and dealers are crazy.
My son got an XL that was ordered last Sept by someone but they moved on when it came into the dealer in June 2023. No mark up...got it for sticker. Hes grateful. I am COMPLETELY impressed by this little truck. I have a 2023 Tacoma....but I wish I could get a Maverick and save some money. Might order a 2024.
it is actually a testament of the falling dollar devaluation and economic crises. the majority still want trucks but can only afford the smaller versions.
I can't speak for anyone else, but the small size and hybrid engine is the only reason I ordered the Maverick. To me the selling point is a perfect balance of utility, size, efficiency and price. If any of those those things change, its no longer special.

We ordered a Maverick on 9/15/2021 and it’s just a few days away. It will be a daily driver, kayak and bicycle hauler. I realized in the beginning I had better order one and it still has taken 1 year and five month for it to arrive at the port of Richmond. Demand is at twice the rate of the Santa Cruz.
I ordered my 2023 Hybrid Lariat in shadow black back in September. I don’t care how long I have to wait, it’s the truck I want and need. No one else is offering a small size pickup that gets 40+ mpg.
Ordered mine a year and a half ago (XLT hybrid). When we got to the dealer to pick it up, they were trying to charge us 8k over MSRP. We negotiated down to 2k over our MSRP inc. taxes/tags. Never going back to that dealer again.

Car companies need to listen to Ford. People want smaller trucks that get good gas mileage. I wish I could find one that doesn’t cost 2x as much as it was new.
I would be fine if they just released the rear locker for standard models. Then I could get what I actually want XLT / FX4 / 4k Tow / Rear Locker. It also means I won't have to look at the orange tremor highlights that I am not a fan of.
You can go into any dealership and insist on paying MSRP even tho dealers are now starting to discount certain models. You can get hosed without the hassle. Great idea.
I really like the look of this truck, but I wish that it was available in a hybrid with eAWD like my toyota rav4 has. Giving the truck the ability to have better traction especially at low speed, while still getting the great MPG of a hybrid.
I have a pool service business. So glad I still have my 2004 Toyota that i can actually easily work out of both sides of the truck bed which is just slightly above waist high. Bring back the low truck bed!
One of the things I love about my Maverick. I am 6' tall but most half ton trucks are such a pain to reach over the side these days. My Maverick I can grab gas cans, bags, trimmers, whatever easily from all three sides of the bed. It's great.
I would've loved the get the hybrid version of the Maverick, but they only offer a CVT transmission instead of the 8-speed, and most CVTs are still questionable to downright awful right now. I ended up getting the 2.0L non-hybrid version, and am very happy with it (aside from the $7,500 markup I had to pay, which I'm still super fucking salty about).
No, depends on make and application. I rented a Nissan versa once, and yes it was a complete disaster of a transmission. We now have a Honda accord with a CVT transmission and it’s pretty incredible. We drive fairly regularly from sea level to 7000 feet elevation and does not skip a beat.

XL 25,600 marked up to 41,000? with high interest rate. I ended up with a Nissan Xterra for 15,000, which 10.5 years ago I bought Xterra for 10,500. I was interested in a small truck, but not for 41k.
Thank God I don't need a new car right this instant. I got on the waiting list for a maverick about 6 weeks ago, and the dealership I went to wanted $48,000 for a used lariat with 35k miles on it. Just outrageous.

I had a Maverick "Grabber" 2 door coop a 1973 model. Same V8 engine they used in the 73 Mustang. Mine had a manual trans. and was a blast to drive Think I'll start looking for my next car among the many well preserved older models.

Dealer near me has 3 Maverick’s on the lot, all 2022 models with less than 10k on them. 2 lariat’s and 1 xlt. Asking 42k and 43k for the lariats and 39,9k for the xlt!!! Wtf?!? Who is paying these prices?
got my order in for Hybrid during the week in Sept 2022/ got the message that i have a VIN assigned in mexico and it will be starting to build (no delivery date yet) MSRP no markup (another ford dealer wanted 2-3K markup but no doc fee no thks) dealership i ordered from has called me 3 times wanting to offer me eco boost maverick etc on the lot now..
I ordered my Maverick back on 9/15/2022. All I get is that every 45 day email stating production hasn't started yet due to supply demands and we are as upset about it as you are. At this rate I wont get it till 2024 and my I was one of the first 3000 to order it too per the order #.
EV is still not going to be the wave of the future. They're not ready yet even though government regulations are pushing in that direction. I do a lot of Highway traveling and I do not want to worry about where I can recharge for the next two-and-a-half hours.
It's actually been proven in some states it's cheaper to operate a hybrid than an EV for the owner. Not to mention cheaper to purchase upfront. Look at Toyota's recent study on hybrids vs EVs. Hybrids have a ton to offer, and everyone is gun ho for EVs. EVs may be the future one day, when we have better battery tech, but for now, Hybrids are where it's at.
Ford is going to have a Toyota truck to compete with in a year… And with that Ford can’t compete with a $24K Toyota and the O.G. hybrid game, also the reliability of a Toyota anything!
toyota already has that globally with a much smaller engine. there's a reason they don't sell it in n america...all the other brands have their own global trucks similar to this but even smaller with worse mileage
I'm driving around a crappy 2001 Toyota Corolla, with cash in the bank, just waiting for a decent all electric inexpensive vehicle to buy. Why is it taking this long for manufacturers to figure out that I don't want to spend $40,000 on an overpriced toy? There are many people in the world that still just want a vehicle to GET STUFF DONE and to get from place to place and who don't have their identity tied up in a vehicle. What I want is simple: an all-electric truck that I can use to hall things like dishwasher, refrigerators, the occasional few sheets of plywood, take some bicycles out to ride, go on a camping trip on a dirt road without tearing out my muffler... I'm not out to haul 4000 pounds of rock, or a boat, or 40 sheets of drywall. I'm not interested making everyone's head turn. I just want a cheap vehicle that will get the job done. It isn't a big ask...
They need to offer a regular cab/ extended cab with a usable 6ft bed then i would like a column shifter i don't like the dial. give it a bench rubber interior then I might be interested. a no frills W/T option would be great.

I took my Expedition in for brakes on Monday and they had an AWD Lariat so I grabbed it. The person who ordered it had just backed out so right place right time, pure luck. Got it out the door under sticker too.

From Toronto just putting it out there frontier pro 4x is same as a fully loaded maverick by every measure frontier is the better truck (I’m a ford fan myself but the prices are ridiculous so now I driver a ram 1500)
i want the hybrid with a turbo option on that specific motor with awd of course or even better 4x4...i actually found some salvaged 4x4 axles. the mod wouldn't be too hard with the way they engineered the maverick...it's so customizeable

The whole purpose of a cheap truck is that #1 its easy to get and #2 its cheap. With limited supply and dealer ADMs the Maverick fails on both points. Useless. Just a novelty piece.

Tremor needs the option of the tow package to tow 4,000 lbs like other models using the 2.0 litre engine. It would be a great seller imo.

I would be fine if they just released the rear locker for standard models. Then I could get what I actually want XLT / FX4 / 4k Tow / Rear Locker. It also means I won't have to look at the orange tremor highlights that I am not a fan of.

I really like the look of this truck, but I wish that it was available in a hybrid with eAWD like my toyota rav4 has. Giving the truck the ability to have better traction especially at low speed, while still getting the great MPG of a hybrid.

I have a pool service business. So glad I still have my 2004 Toyota that i can actually easily work out of both sides of the truck bed which is just slightly above waist high. Bring back the low truck bed!
One of the things I love about my Maverick. I am 6' tall but most half ton trucks are such a pain to reach over the side these days. My Maverick I can grab gas cans, bags, trimmers, whatever easily from all three sides of the bed. It's great.
@@stryker5573 I've seen the Mavrick it is still too high to work out of. I am also 6'. They need to bring it down to 2004 Toyota Tacoma levels.
I would've loved the get the hybrid version of the Maverick, but they only offer a CVT transmission instead of the 8-speed, and most CVTs are still questionable to downright awful right now. I ended up getting the 2.0L non-hybrid version, and am very happy with it (aside from the $7,500 markup I had to pay, which I'm still super fucking salty about).

No, depends on make and application. I rented a Nissan versa once, and yes it was a complete disaster of a transmission. We now have a Honda accord with a CVT transmission and it’s pretty incredible. We drive fairly regularly from sea level to 7000 feet elevation and does not skip a beat.
@@gtrance3567 Yeah, the only CVTs in a vehicle I would trust right now would be a Honda or a Toyota. But I'd still choose a non-CVT if at all possible.

XL 25,600 marked up to 41,000? with high interest rate. I ended up with a Nissan Xterra for 15,000, which 10.5 years ago I bought Xterra for 10,500. I was interested in a small truck, but not for 41k.
Thank God I don't need a new car right this instant. I got on the waiting list for a maverick about 6 weeks ago, and the dealership I went to wanted $48,000 for a used lariat with 35k miles on it. Just outrageous.
I don't care for the extras I want the basic work truck, at the 20k price period.Its a truck man and is loaded with plenty of toys to start.A work truck not a luxury ride man up and realize what that means..the old trucks didn't have a radio or side mirrors and definitely no AC it's time to get back to basics

Dealer near me has 3 Maverick’s on the lot, all 2022 models with less than 10k on them. 2 lariat’s and 1 xlt. Asking 42k and 43k for the lariats and 39,9k for the xlt!!! Wtf?!? Who is paying these prices?

got my order in for Hybrid during the week in Sept 2022/ got the message that i have a VIN assigned in mexico and it will be starting to build (no delivery date yet) MSRP no markup (another ford dealer wanted 2-3K markup but no doc fee no thks) dealership i ordered from has called me 3 times wanting to offer me eco boost maverick etc on the lot now..

I ordered my Maverick back on 9/15/2022. All I get is that every 45 day email stating production hasn't started yet due to supply demands and we are as upset about it as you are. At this rate I wont get it till 2024 and my I was one of the first 3000 to order it too per the order #.

EV is still not going to be the wave of the future. They're not ready yet even though government regulations are pushing in that direction. I do a lot of Highway traveling and I do not want to worry about where I can recharge for the next two-and-a-half hours.

It's actually been proven in some states it's cheaper to operate a hybrid than an EV for the owner. Not to mention cheaper to purchase upfront. Look at Toyota's recent study on hybrids vs EVs. Hybrids have a ton to offer, and everyone is gun ho for EVs. EVs may be the future one day, when we have better battery tech, but for now, Hybrids are where it's at.

toyota already has that globally with a much smaller engine. there's a reason they don't sell it in n america...all the other brands have their own global trucks similar to this but even smaller with worse mileage

I'm driving around a crappy 2001 Toyota Corolla, with cash in the bank, just waiting for a decent all electric inexpensive vehicle to buy. Why is it taking this long for manufacturers to figure out that I don't want to spend $40,000 on an overpriced toy? There are many people in the world that still just want a vehicle to GET STUFF DONE and to get from place to place and who don't have their identity tied up in a vehicle. What I want is simple: an all-electric truck that I can use to hall things like dishwasher, refrigerators, the occasional few sheets of plywood, take some bicycles out to ride, go on a camping trip on a dirt road without tearing out my muffler... I'm not out to haul 4000 pounds of rock, or a boat, or 40 sheets of drywall. I'm not interested making everyone's head turn. I just want a cheap vehicle that will get the job done. It isn't a big ask...

They need to offer a regular cab/ extended cab with a usable 6ft bed then i would like a column shifter i don't like the dial. give it a bench rubber interior then I might be interested. a no frills W/T option would be great.

I took my Expedition in for brakes on Monday and they had an AWD Lariat so I grabbed it. The person who ordered it had just backed out so right place right time, pure luck. Got it out the door under sticker too.

I could be wrong, but the electric Maverick is about as relevant as a manual transmission Maverick. Next year, good luck finding one under $30,000.

The whole purpose of a cheap truck is that #1 its easy to get and #2 its cheap. With limited supply and dealer ADMs the Maverick fails on both points. Useless. Just a novelty piece.
