For many years you have asked me about my opinion.
“Hey Scott, have you tried Sonarworks? What do you think about Sonarworks? Should I get Sonarworks?”
I never really thought it could work-so I never tried. I was honest and said “I don’t know”, but I also never went out of my way to get into contact in order to try the software.
Well, after moving into Hertz Recording Studio and being told by Wojtek and Slawek to use the software… I was wrong.
SoundID Reference is amazing. And you NEED this if you are serious at all about mixing your music.

Hello, I have a same mic, ECM8000, where did you get the calibration file for the mic?
I thought this was a gimmicky thing at first, but after I swapped to the HD650 headphones I tried this out & so understood why this helps. This was also eye opening, seeing this a bit more in depth. Will probably have to try calibrate my room as well.

The tool for headphones is nonsensically good! It even has a model of my non-pro (at least I don't consider them as pro) Audio-Technica ATH-M20x, and they actually have a low-mid bump that makes me feel everything is absolutely muddy every time.
I used this until I got used to my mixing room and then as reference for my headphones. I recently had to move my office so I will be pulling this back out to get my position working as best as I can. This is truly a great tool!
I use a similar method on live sound systems to manually adjust my 32 band stereo EQ to whatever room I had to set up in. Its the only way I was ever able to get our weirdly shaped jam space to sound good. If you're standing in the right spot....😂.

These are two different products that do kind of the same thing in a different way. If you're already using Slate, you probably won't need SoundID. However, if I understand right, Slate is pretty much just a headphone ecosystem while SoundID aims to get a flat response out of speakers and headphones. Honestly, you're probably good to go with the Slate stuff!
@@ChernobylAudio666 yep ! Steven slate vsx is an ecosystem , i’m tealy happy with , it’s a game changer for the people like me who have a bad treated room and annoying neighboors! I mix only with headphones and steven slate vsx gave me the posibility to do it right.

Wanted to get SoundID anyways so might as well use your link. ;) Slightly off topic but why is the "CHERNOBYL COMPLETE BUNDLE" more expensive than getting the individual courses? That seems off. :)
No idea.. but I mentioned that to the Spectre Academy team so we'll see what's going on!

🎉Cool Video ！I have the sonarworks reference Version. I'm curious what's the difference between them. Any sound quality improvement ？Or just added some fancy features on the SoundID？I'm a little hesitate to upgrade.
In talking with Wojtek, they were very impressed with the new updates, in particular how much better the phase sounded. I can't attest to the older software, never used it. But what I have now is amazing. I won't work without it.
“SoundID” is basically Sonarworks 5. Different name, same thing. Better EQ engine, and now you can have custom curves on top of the correction, which I use a lot because I like a gentle sub-60Hz lift as well as the correction. Worth it for me

Not very likely that I will buy this because I have something similar from an Ik bundle I got a while back that I haven't got around to explore the heck out of yet.
If you ever feel like making a shootout of the different offerings once you've tested them I'll be glad then to look more seriously into this one then instead of making a blackfriday impulse buy 😂

I’m also curious to know how it will work for me as my Presonus eris monitors only go as low as 70hz, i bought a compatible sub for under my desk for the lower ranges which also has some manual adjustments on it.
I used it with my headphones and it's fantastic software.
