Woom makes a great bikes! no doubt for that, but as a father of two I tell you... to build a positive early experience it's more important to equip the bike with a basket, a flag, a fancy ring-bell, and ribbons on the ends of handlebar.... and preferably Elza&Anna from Frozen on each of those elements...

Parents don't need to invest in a balance bike. Just find a bicycle that's the right size for your child and remove the pedals to make it a balance bike. Once they learn to ride it, you can put the pedals back on and viola. You just saved $100.

Balance bikes are great, only thing I would do different would be to get one with a brake next time. When moving up to a pedal bike maybe try it as a “big balance bike” first by removing the pedals.
Was amazed to hear a LBS had sold 3 sets of adult stabilisers in the last year..😳

I was looking to buy a woom in Canada. Couldn’t find a retailer and shipping cost were prohibitive. 👎

Check out Bikes Direct. (although it depends on your height, weight, where you're located (i.e., beach, mountains, etc.); and how much you're able to spend).

My mom and dad never had "Kids" bikes, they learnt how to ride when they were very young on full sized bikes. And they have the scars to prove it.
PS. Would someone tell me why kids bikes have bent/ curved top tubes?

Yes, this is to help children get on and off the bike more easily. Thanks for watching!

I was wondering that, myself. I was researching a bicycle for a 9-yr.-old, but she's small for her age; and those top tubes are *way* too high on those larger bikes! 😞

The 'LittleBig bike' grows with your child from balance to pedal.

    500? Oh hell no.

Agreed. For that price, it'd be nice to have internal hub gears (or at least a derailleur guard), a more versatile step-through frame; and quick-release front wheel.
