- Leo and the KitGuru gang are over at Computex 2024 in Taipei. Today they spent a few hours at the massive ACER booth. It was very noisy, and we had to apply some voice isolation filtering to remove background noise. If you are listening on high end audio equipment you may hear this, so apologies in advance if that is the case. Both ACER and Thermaltake locations were massively busy and the noise levels were off the charts.

Great stuff guys, really good coverage! As a casual sim racer, I'm liking the Z57, but my existing monitor (49" Odyssey G9) is finding the limits of my desk and my neck from craning side to side 🤨
49 inch is massive. 57 inch. I’ve no idea what kind of desk could take that comfortably with speakers beside it 😂
@@Maxverstappenracing-dz3pt Yes it's a big 'un, the 57 is a beast altogether, would be fantastic for sim racing though! I've an Ikea desk and it would just about house the 57 but no room for anything else then 😂
It’s a good point. We often see people in the movie theatres at the front and the heads are moving side to side constantly. A big tv is different as you aren’t sitting so close.
I guess for flight sims and racing a lot of what happens at each side of the screen is more peripheral boundary movement and you wouldn’t need to turn your head all the time.

@@KitGuruTech Yes that's very true, triple screens are very common in sim racing where the side screens are as you say for peripheral vision. I forgot about the native resolution of the Z57 (7680x2160), for me that would be GPU upgrade time too!
Yeah likely needs a 4090. Even then that’s a tall order at max settings in aaa games.
this is ACER's problem continually - the disconnect between the wonderful engineers and designers and the marketing team who cant tell the difference between Horizon Dawn at ultra settings and something like COD. 🧐
It’s too many marketing people involved and not a group of gamers who know how to set these things up for the show. The bigger the company the bigger the disconnect.
I just don’t think the show people know what they are doing so they just get a triple aaa game

That 480hz screen looks interesting. Smooth panning shots would look so fluid at that refresh rate.
Hard to get that kind of frame rate with anything but causal games

OMG I want one of those DUHD monitors! Sony need to get their act together and start supporting these types of resolutions on the PS5. Gran turismo on that would be amazing.

I need an oled monitor. Still deciding which one. I’d never be able to fit that z model on my desk. Same size as the tv in my living room
That z57 looks incredible but you would need to factor in a 4090 and have possibly one of those 2 grand Corsair desks to support it properly. I’ve been trying to find the physical weight of it everywhere but it’s not listed.
My g9 neo is so heavy the monitor arm barely supports it. This will be heavier by a significant margin I’m guessing.

Acer always have dead pixels for me. Went through 4 of my last lcd before I got one that was one hundred percent right.

@@Maxverstappenracing-dz3pt It's just my prejudice on the brand, I have so many bad experience from their products in the past. Laptops, pre built work PCs, PSUs. I see Acer I just skip it. Hopefully the new monitors are good
