Exotic sports cars and houses tend to appreciate in value, maybe not cars so much, but it's not unheard of. I could sell a sawed after Japanese import from '95 (like for example the Toyota Supra from that year) in near perfect condition and it could realistically sell for greater than a new corvette (just an example, it's possible). Houses will almost always appreciate in value. This laptop for 9k is a crappy investment because it will be obsolete in about 3 years time (maybe give it a year or two extra, it's quite powerful). It's not gonna be a powerhouse for long because it will be replaced by better, perhaps more practical laptops, as the industry demands more powerful machines. Cars and houses do not degrade in their quality over time the way stuff like phones and such technology do, but maybe I'm wrong everything is different.
really, at 9k you minus well build a super powerful gaming desktop. you can fit 2 rtx 2080tis, along with everything else, the only thing that makes it worth it is the portability.

The keyboard appears to be rgb. When the keycap gets taken off you can see the clear switch housing for the cherry mx browns. Clear housing is only used for rgb cherry mx switches. Single color lit or nonlit cherry mx use black housings.

Buy this or build a whole F*ckng setup with a 4k display and 2 1080 ti in sli and rgb everything.
There's no disputing that a custom build would be cheaper and arguably quicker, but if you can't have a desktop (student, wife appeal etc.) then you'll need a laptop.
Sure, there are other options, such as something like a Razer blade stealth, which are a bit lighter and cheaper.
This type of laptop is basically "portable top of the line" machine.
