      No, I don't make these any longer. Thanks!!

    Finally find the perfect trailer and he doesn't build them anymore. Someone should. This is the perfect design.

  • @motomule
    @motomule  11 років тому +5

    Yes it does. The trailer is not designed to be pulled on a super cross track. Many dirt bikes and smaller dual sport bikes don't have strong enough sub-frames to carry extra weight, this is a way to carry the gear when your bike can't handle it. Once you get to camp, ditch the trailer and hit the hardcore trails with your lightweight dirt bike!

    Is this still available? The site doesn’t seem to work.
    I wonder how these work in Canada? I know anything that touches the road has to be registered so it would have to be plated like any other trailer

    Doesn't that add a tremendous amount of unsprung weight to the rear suspension?

    • @jamessever8936
      @jamessever8936 2 роки тому

      That is a good point. I guess it's adding roughly half of the weight of what you are carrying to your unsprung weight.

    There are hitches available for some dual sport bikes that don't have hollow rear axles. KLR650 and TW200 are a couple examples.

  • @motomule
    @motomule  11 років тому +1

    The trailers use a DOT approved motorcycle tire, many of the moto-mule trailers out there have over 3000 miles on them, still using the original tire, no sign of wear. Perhaps you should do a little research before making uneducated remarks, makes you appear dumb... just an FYI

    Some advice: don't ever drop parts on the ground if possible. Millions know why.

    A nice product, but still zero suspension on the front of the trailer, makes the rear suspension only about half effective.

    Great video. Would have been funny if you just played the first half in reverse to show how to put it on. How did the trail hold up after use. Would you still recommend it??

    one of the best I've seen so far. light enough, yet strong enough, simple and effective. I want to make a small camper for my bike, will use an old bicycle, hopefully an all aluminium one, if I can get one in the scrapyard.

    I would like to get one of these, but with a lower profile, and longer, aluminum box that locks. I want to mount a Yakima bike rack on it and carry my mountain bike, with riding gear inside. Then at the trail, put my motorcycle gear inside, and lock it all up while out mountain biking. The trailer would have to be able to lock to the motorcycle as well.

    Are these available for sale, how much, and will they handle sustained highway speedsof 80 or 85 miles an hour? I do Iron Butt rides with my 2012 BMW F650GS but I want as little weight on the bike as possible.
    How much impact on performance do you think your trailer has? Thank you in advance for the information.

    I can't hear you! Once you get out to the bike away from the camera, you can not hear hardly anything you say. I was really wanting to hear this thing, otherwise it is just pictures mate.
    Thanks for the effort, perhaps you could get someone to film you next time so they can get a touch closer, or you can speak up a lot.
    thanks!
