Would the world be roof above the sawmill support the weight of some sort of winch to lift logs into the mill? It would help solve the problem of logs too heavy for the tractor to lift with the forks.
Need a first aid kit Two .. one inside the man cave, the other at directly near the sawmill. Helmets with face shield. Aprons for wood cutting. Same gear as all lumberjacks.. And stout beer. Definitely gotta have stout beer on tap! 😂
Very nice of your wife to join you for coffee and cookies, nice to see the power behind the throne (as Kevin is king of saw mill sheds). Gonna need at least a couple more stools in the man cave (a seat for Don & bro) and probably some folding chairs hanging on pegs for when you have a crowd! Keep up the good work!
And rainbows! Everything is wonderful when we are together, Brighter than a lucky penny. Couldn’t resist it and it seemed fitting. Office is lookin awesome!
Hey Kevin; I Must say that you have such a Creative Imagination for the Beauty in the Designing of your Projects! You are always coming up with your own personal touch to your Creations, and Utilize the Materials you already have, and make it Functional to Suit your Projects! You do it with alot of Style, and Class as well! You are a fart stinker XXX, I mean a "SMART THINKER!" Just Kiddin Man! 😂🤣😁🤭! Well Done! Love ya Videos! GBU.,SM.,NZ., ✌❤🙂👍😎🙏🏿
A lot of history in one vid. Very well done, Kev. One thing your sawmill shed doesn't have is a lot of colour. Rachael's visit really brightened things up. It was nice seeing her again. As for the chandelier, it is upside down for my tastes, bigger around at the top and smaller around at the bottom with the little hooks pointing up so you can more easily hang crystals on them or fish hooks, if you like. The sawmill's new home is a work of art.
I am thoroughly impressed Kevin! Love watching this series and how it all came together. I enjoyed seeing the rare appearance from your beautiful wife and Miss Frankie 🐶 too! Keep these wonderful projects going so us couch potatoes can have fun watching! 😄
Nice little touch with the mini tour of some of your other buildings. The Sawsmahaul has turned into a workspace/playhouse. And the price is definitely right! I was expecting Don or your brother show up to help hang that barn door. Can't wait to see what projects the future has in store.
If you take the railing off the cubic mini-woodstove, you can get a pot or frying pan on top for cooking. Shop looks great. If Rachael ever needs help or advice with her writing, let me know. Glad to help out. (Ontario author here).
This is the most awesome wood milling/man cave I’ve ever seen. I mean the chandelier is so cool. All the uses you’ve gotten out of the sawmill has paid for itself ten times over. Just my opinion but I think once the door finishes drying out and you can stain it I think a cool twig from the woods or cool antler wood look really neat on the outside and inside of the door for handles. Would save from constant dirty hands pushing on the door all the time. Awesome place!! Also just thought is everything on your place back there good and safe. If not then you can put everything until needed inside the man cave and put a good latch over type of lock where you can put a dead bolt on it on your door if possible.
You’re just the best Kev! Your work even to an untrained eye is lovely. So manly, a guys guy for sure. Still missing the recliners for you and Don or at least a cosy rocking chair and a big bed for Frankie 🥰🇨🇦. Look forward to every Saturday morning.
OMG!! Dats really awesome. It all came together perfectly. Kinda sad to see it end. Great job anxiously awaiting da next product. But please give us video updates wen you do your odds and ends to it
Hello from Australia Kevin. Love the whole sawzmahal. Only tjonk i could see that you're missing is an easy chair or two. Maybe folding ones so they can hang on the wall when not in use.
Great informative video as always Kevin!! You got alot done to the wood shack !!! It looks great for 50 dollars!!!! I love thebwood stove and all the attachments !! Take care and stay safe my friend !!!
Great video. I find it amazing at the things your mind comes up with. Your Man Cave is unbelievable. The only thing I’d add to the cave would be a recliner that you could nap in… not that you don’t have enough options for napping in the wood. The cabin, the A-frame, etc. I love you line about getting the chandelier because it matched the stove accent, no the fact that it was free and on the side of the road. Did you hang the chandelier upside down? The hooks make more sense in the other direction… but it still looks very POSH! Thank you so much for sharing!
great update of the saw mill and how much you have accomplished with it i would say all you are missing is some stools or chairs to enjoy those cookies and coffee
One suggestion for the man cave sliding door: a trim piece at the window wall edge ro help keep dust from blowing in. Maybe L /【 shaped to receive the edge so it's held in place
You have a very impressive collection of buildings and projects you have created and built! So awesome. Love your videos and fun commentary. Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family. 😊
I believe this is one of your best videos to date, I'm in awe of all the building projects you've built. Great job! I especially like that skylight, and I was waiting for the hole in the roof too..lol 😂😅 Love what you're doing ❤
15:00 Having a sawmill is a costsaver for the level of activity you have. But. You do need a source of timber. That's the limitation, some may struggle with. But, a worthwhile consideration for those who have the latter lined up. Cheers Kevin.
Awesome episode Kevin. You have mad creative and fabrication skills! That saw mill pole barn/shed is a "cut" above all overs!😁 Thanks for the idea on the mini wood stove. I acquired a camp stove that I'm going to try and set up in my garage shop in a similar way. 🤔
Love the process of this Sawmill/He-Shed build!! Glad you made the Sawmill shed, UTILITY IS KEY!! Quick ? though, have you thought about using this year round(ish) sawmill to make extra money? By that I mean, mill wood for people at a lower cost than what they would "possibly" pay at a conglomerate (Home Depot/Lowe's) ???
The chandelier is definitely the finishing elegant piece for the sawzmahall!! Love it!! The barn door is amazing too!! Great job!! And I LOVE the skylight!! Too much!!
In the winter or when it turns cold plastic 20 mil clear plastic tarps would help keep snow and rain out of the milling side. Slide along a bar when milling otherwise close it off.
Love everything about this series but especially the cookie floor. Great to see the older builds. Everything looks sturdy and in beautiful shape. Good luck with the new fish.
Really, the most glaring thing that you're missing it a covered area for storing the wood. Though, if you want to get really fancy you could also add a 'wood dryer'. A room where you can put your freshly cut logs with another wood stove inside to get the room really warm and speed up the drying out. So, you'd have a rack of fresh lumber, a drying room and then a rack of dried lumber. You could build all of that where you currently just have a pile of wood there or on the other side of the back wall that you made.
@@ModernSelfReliance Are you actually considering an on-site, heated curing system? Seems like it'd be energy-prohibitive and maintenance-intensive. If I recall correctly back when you first started you had stacks of lumber at your house that had been left to cure over a couple years, but considering just how much wood you're going through now that doesn't seem very feasible as you'd need a VERY large storage space for it to work. Curious if you're considering a build to address curing wood properly. Builds completed so far without proper curing seem to be doing really well without it.
Kevin Your Craftsmanship Is Like No Other Your A Man Of many Many Trates I've got the eye for these things but my Craftsmanship isn't ANYWHERE Near Yours 😳 🙌🏽
You need a mini fridge in the man cave. Rachel can provide you raw cookie dough rolls to store inside. Then you can slice off a few cookies 🍪 and bake them fresh 😋
Very impressive creative hard work well done. Love how talented you are. You turned your property into a beautiful fairy tale paradise. Great job with the sawmill.
I love your videos and how the Sawsmahaul has turned out! I've commented before when you started building this thing saying that I would love a sawmill shed for our Woodmizer LT50 but I never imagined yours would turn out like this! It is incredible! My family business is making hardwood flooring and paneling, usually character grade but we can make anything up to clear floors with our Weinig Profimat moulding machine. Currently we are using the Woodmizer to make construction grade lumber from Aspen trees to build a new BIG building to house all our machines so that has priority over making a sawmill shed, but after seeing how well this turned out you have inspired me to build one after the big building is done. If you would like to see our work I can send you the link to our website, but I understand if you don't so I wont post it right now lol. We're based in southern Wisconsin and have mostly a hardwood forest rather than all the softwood you have. Idk how it is in Canada but in Wisconsin you need to take a class to be able to make your own construction grade material to build, my dad and I recently took that class. You are an incredibly talented woodworker though, and I cant wait to see more videos!
LOVE this build and it will help keep the sawmill mostly protected plus giving you many options to continue your wood work projects! I checked out your Norwood link and prices are not bad if the buyer has access to free wood on someone's wooded acreage to craft MANY wood creations.
You should add a hollow wood chime to the windy corner of the Sauz Mahaul. Next product maybe build a hunter's cabin deep 8n the woods the Wooded Beardsman can place the heads of his kills on the walls like deer antlers.
I’m just setting my mill up actually I’ve had three previously and your design is beautiful and I may use a lot of your thoughts on my mill shed, my others were basically just pole barns with clear poly for light but I really like what you e done there, I have a renewed ambition, I take care of my mother and it’s a work in progress but thank you for your videos I may even do some of that too? Great stuff
i was thinking the same thing as you with the chandelier. it has plenty of lil hooks for you to hang stuff you find interesting, that will make one really cool repurposed chandelier.
Kevin - You are really doing it man...So cool, your dreams are coming true and it's kinda fun to watch sooo, congratulations on holding my attention for years now lol. Great health to you and yours. Sawz Mahal is your best yet!
Makes sense! If you want it to work you have to hang it from the end with the electrical wires to connect it. Lol. Yes it does have the hooks that look upside down going around it but not sure of those but it’s still really unique.
@@ModernSelfReliance Someone may have screwed up the wiring before you got it, but at 28:18 you can clearly see the hollow NPS tube used for hanging lights that the wiring would normally come out, and the chain that is used for hanging lights. So I agree, it is upside down. Someone else may have hung it upside down first...maybe. But what I actually suspect is that one more section is missing and the wires that came out of (what you are calling) the top were actually wires going to one more section of the bottom.
21:00 Fire is so mesmerizing. And like your construction buddies, we on our project (professionals we hired, that we're assisting without pay) are aiming to burn the excess material. Though either we're busy, or the fire risk is high. Not great with an open pit....
Chris I know your Ediiting Most off The Time When Kevin is Working on These Projects But I Think He Needs A Hand With This Heavy Lifting Frankie Can't Help Him Everytime‼️ 🤣 🙌🏽
Left out the word 'handle' on man cave door up there. 1 more idea: 2 in hole drille in door area where hanle would be, insert 2 in dowel, sand, stain, etc, . 🎉
*Good morning everyone! If you are interested in a NORWOOD sawmill, please use my custom link:* bit.ly/3O9SnXA.
Definately add some kind of a wood floor :) (at least over by the work bench area....Its harder to sweep up a dirt floor ;(
Would the world be roof above the sawmill support the weight of some sort of winch to lift logs into the mill? It would help solve the problem of logs too heavy for the tractor to lift with the forks.
Need a first aid kit
Two .. one inside the man cave, the other at directly near the sawmill.
Helmets with face shield.
Aprons for wood cutting.
Same gear as all lumberjacks..
And stout beer.
Definitely gotta have stout beer on tap! 😂
you need them to give you a coupon code....
why can't I like this more than once? true story. 1,000,000 likes. Nice job.
My week is often crazy busy, but on Saturday mornings I set aside my time to watch Kevin and whatever projects he’s working on.
It's just like I'm a kid again being excited for Saturday morning cartoons.....your videos make my Saturdays.

That chandelier is amazing!

That skylight is so cool!!! Also incredible how much use you've gotten out of that sawmill. Really paid for itself!
Thank you so much for liking our Skylight.
Skylight is super cool.
You are a artist that milling shed is drop dead beautiful i think a couple of stools for each work bench
That chandelier is the PERFECT touch for your sawmill...really fancies up the joint ;)

Ha! I was scrolling to see if anybody else was going to tell him the chandelier was upside down. lol Good looking out!
I love the new skylight! Never seen one like that before! 😱🤯
Love the chandelier!
Kevin, I think though you hung it upside down 😀

Impressive chandelier and the way you attached it...awesome!!!
So proud of all your projects!! You are awesome!! So many could learn from your awesomeness!!!
Love the sweet wife and child , both are so cute and the Franky is full of silliness. Love ya and the energy you have is unreal.
I really like all the buildings have built but the sawmill is number 1 so far you out did yourself 🎉 so cool
It would be really cute if Rachael did a simple (or complicated if she wants!) cooking show episode in the she-shed!
Amazing show The Mill is looking amazing. Enjoy it.
Fantastic! Very creative. Your expertise never ceases to amaze me.
Absolutely the artistry of an master artist in wood and design…I love your work it is breath taking
Very cool shed. I think it might be wise to add some safety gear like first aid kit, fire extinguishers, and eye wash station.

The chandelier is the BOMB, I'm still not sure about all those tiny hooks on it. But it's absolutely perfect for the Sawsmahal. Brilliant!!
OMG cant wait to see the chandelier finnished with all the wood bits on. loving the Sawsmahaul .
Very cool Build Kevin and some realy subtle product placement throughout that video hehe ,very entertaining 😂

this project has been awesome to follow. Been watching all your videos for over a year now
My goodness... everthing you do it's sooooo beautiful... félicitation!! you have taste!! and so talented!!
absolutely world-class job, Kevin!

Coffee and cookies for the planning phases, then out to the mill to "get er done", Very efficient!
Love everything about this series but especially the cookie floor. Great to see the older builds. Everything looks sturdy and in beautiful shape. Good luck with the new fish.
Outstanding Man Cave … you really made it a great place to hang out and plan your next projects. I have gotten some great ideas from what you did.

You could mount a flat screen tv and have a short of a plane coming straight towards you. Just a sick twisted idea.
Rachel and your daughter are so sweet and pretty. Love seeing them
Morning All! ❤
that sky light is pretty sweet! that mini oven would be handy too
You need a mini fridge in the man cave.
Need a 8" diameter funnel added to an outside wall with long hose attached. Sawmill pee station. Nice work Kevin. Carry on
The chandelier is just amazing in that space!
I love it!!!!😂

I think you should have some sort of bluetooth speaker system. It is a man cave after all. And tunes are key.
I agree.
You should add a hollow wood chime to the windy corner of the Sauz Mahaul. Next product maybe build a hunter's cabin deep 8n the woods the Wooded Beardsman can place the heads of his kills on the walls like deer antlers.

You two look great together
Fantastic! Everything is coming together nicely!
Excellent carpenter 👍 I enjoy watching your channel, it's very intertaining and educational.
You should put a regular door knob on the slider and see if your buds try to open it. Could be a few laughs?
i was thinking the same thing as you with the chandelier. it has plenty of lil hooks for you to hang stuff you find interesting, that will make one really cool repurposed chandelier.

Pretty much love everything you make or do. Amazing. 👍🏼
Based on the perimeter hooks, the chandelier seems to be mounted upside down.
I honestly was thinking that also, don't seem quite right indeed
Unless the wires come out the bottom.... Think of a candy cane. Probably had some sort of crystal dangling from the end of the canes.
Generally those types of designs have a frosted or "glacier" type glass/crystal piece that hangs off of them.
Makes sense! If you want it to work you have to hang it from the end with the electrical wires to connect it. Lol. Yes it does have the hooks that look upside down going around it but not sure of those but it’s still really unique.

Where's the cigar's?
And the fine Canadian whiskey?
Dontcha forget the Stout beer!
the "Frankie.. why? *long pause* " absolutely killed me. Dogs gonna dog when you're in the woods!
Great Ideas to build a shed
Everything looks awesome. I’m jealous!
need to have some wood storage for all the milled lumber, can cut on rain/snow days and store it

great video @ 32 I think the only things we missed were the mini cube and all the pond stuff KUDOS
I wish I had a small amount of your skill with wood 😆. Hope to see Don again soon.
You are the Canadian Nick nak and do hicky guy and love how you're mind works a real artist.
l like the man cave floor, it looks great, take care and stay safe
Absolutely stunning
Great video. I'm glad you posted keep them coming thanks

I think the sawsmahal is great.
I would love to be able to stay in all of these.
