- "Praeludium und Allegro" by Fritz Kreisler (in style of Gaetano Pugnani).
Violinist Ithzak Perlmand and pianist Bruno Canino during a visit to a school in Germany, c.1984. School's pupils ask many questions and Perlman answers sympathetically ...and plays! The quality of the video is rather poor, but I consider it of documental value.
my left ear did really enjoy this
Wat
same
Sebastiaan Kulwanowski your statement is fucking funny... I laugh during the whole piece
Mine too.
kay... weird
This is glorious playing. Few violinist "get" Kriesler and Perlman undoubtedly "gets it" perfectly. Charming, light, and not too serious. Always rhythmically incisive and never cloying. Thank you Mr. Kreisler for your contribution to the violin and thank you Mr. Perlman for your humanity and generosity.
i disagree in saying that Perlman undoubtedly gets Kreisler. There are recordings of Kreisler, and they don't sound like Perlman
Well said!!! Catching the “Spirit” of the music is not easy, especially when combining it with such consistently marvelous technique.
@@eduardosacasa5007 The only source I can find states that Kreisler never recorded it. It reads "The Praeludium and Allegro (Classical Manuscript No 5, attributed to Gaetano Pugnani) is Kreisler’s finest achievement. The Prelude is memorable, the Allegro marvellously virtuosic. When playing it at the Paris Opéra in 1923, Kreisler saw Vincent d’Indy wag a finger at him from the front row and thought he had been found out. Afterwards d’Indy told him: ‘Pugnani would not have played the Allegro in that tempo.’ Sadly Kreisler never recorded it."
@@eduardosacasa5007 I think you don't have to copy the sound of Kreisler, to get the spirit of his music. If you take Liebesleid for example. Kreisler recorded it multiple times through the years. Every time it sounded different, every time it had a slightly different feel to it. Does that mean, Kreisler didn't get his own music? I think not. It's just different interpretations, but the spirit it still fitting and still Kreisler.
Kids at the beginning of the performance: 😒
Kids after 2:51:
😳😳😳
lol
3:23 i am like her LOL
Lol
Yup
For all of you who say that the piece is too fast. It probably sounds like that, because of how clean the notes are to hear. When the notes are clean, it'll sound faster. Your ears can sometimes trick you.
not really. I agree that the notes are clear but the overall tempo is a little fast.
or they are used to an over-indulgence of sentimentality.
@@Anonymous-ge3jb It's just his interpretation
It definitely sounds rushed, perhaps he's played it too many times. Still brilliant of course!
It so fast so u won’t hear the period of music
One of the world's best violinists, playing one of the nicest pieces - and the camera is pointed at the crowd more than at him :/
Aj vd Westhuizen True, but I think it's mainly to show that at any age and any era, you can always be awed by such talent.
+Aj vd Westhuizen The video quality is poor and there are some great spots where I would've loved to see the fingering and the bowing...alas...though still good audio to rip and carry around in your iTunes as it's one of the best renditions out there
I never cease to marvel at this guy’s bow-arm. He has one of the easiest, smoothest, most effortless bow-arm I’ve ever seen. Bravo maestro!
For me good camera - audience is very important in this program. In Bazzini there are good point on pianist hands
He is the best violinist of our time, he has such an emotion and passion for music, thank you for bringing your playing to the world, it is truly amazing.
pezzo stupendo.
As always, everything is so easy for Perlman..... Amazing
This is my favourite performance of this piece. Perlman never dawdles. He keeps up a fast tempo, yet very expressive playing, and at the same time never sounding rushed. In the Heifetz tradition. If only Heifetz had recorded this piece.
I’m trying to play this lord help me
Lol me too
Smh u gotta practice for 40 hrs
Same here. Im only 14 tho😭
its not that hard actually
@@Alessaepx same here I’m only 1 year old though 😫🥶🥵
I cried all the time, it's so beautiful!!
The best violinist alive right now
Wunderbar..... Ich werde nicht mehr sagen.... Sie sind wunderbar!!! 🎻❣️🎶
Itzhak Perman is fantastic violiniste and pedagog.Hy is AMAZING!
Filming the audience more than the performers are great, in this case it seem like a didactic concert and Perlman always gonna looks great playing! (no need to look at him the entire video) I love the children expression while listening the piece... they look so amazed!
The camera person clearly doesn't appreciate Itzhak Perlman enough
One of the best things written for a fiddle & a stick.Performed by the best player that ever put a fiddle under his chin .I'm super glad that these young people have a chance to enjoy great music!
"A fiddle and a stick" It's called a violin k...
johnnyboy226 It’s the same instrument.
Well, he is an excellent player of course. Only not the best violin player ever. I can cite a few who top him easily.
Holy Jesus! great violin playing there! Thanks for uploading this!
3:35 that girls face reflected what we were all thinking
happy to be alive to hear this ☺
At 3.31 the girl on the right says Föck! which is the appropriate response.
nodnod winkwink she says „was“ which means „what“
nodnod winkwink “Fick” is the german term for fuck. im sure she wasn’t.
Perlam got Polio when he was four and he was left enable to move his legs, hence why he is always sitting in a chair. A great violinist of our time. I approve.
Realmente Maravilloso
Insanely fantastic!🎻
I ❤ this peace
It was before 1984, I guess 1979 or 1980. It was transmitted live on German TV, and living in Germany I know that in 1984, I wouldn't have watched it.
Huh, weird, I only got goosebumps on the left side of my body.
Hy Is Amazing Maestro ITZHAK PERLMAN 🎻 Hy Is surnaturel!🌷❤️

im really glad he didn't play this at his normal tempo lol

I ragazzi erano rapiti e stupefatti.

Im tryingto learn this piece... its hard. seriously.
Same here XD
i did manage to perform it decently! Praise God
Just started it this week.
Joanna Longtine I'm going to play it in a competition next year.
it will seem hard at first, but once you put enough practice into this piece, it wont seem as hard as it was the first time you played it or listened to it
NOONE plays this better!
bom
?
Muito bom
Marvelous playing! Eric Shumsky
Perlman takes the Allegro way too fast and turns it into an incomprehensible and utterly unmusical blur of notes. The gold standard for performance of this work is the composer himself, the incomparable Fritz Kreisler.
he never even recorded it lol
there is a note sharpe
와........
I cant hear the vid lol
Some of those kids seem pretty bored, maybe they were too young to appreciate such artistry.
Fast than anything in earth 😂😂😂
good video BUT took too much of audiences' faces, no point.
A good portion of the video was Perlman but ok.
I wish I could give 100 likes but I can't...
why 😭😭
dont worry, it already has more then 100 likes!! :D
See 7 year old Ko So Huyn play this piece and you will open your eyes in wonder !
Wtf
It was A Major help from me playing this hahaha.
Get it : A Major Hahahaa
Itzhak Perlman play s this piece nice but Joo Young Oh plays this song MUCH BETTER
True Joo Yong Oh is amazing hes the best violinist I know
Lol seriously?
@@zhangbenyuan7249 Luke Kim is insane, he definitely isn’t a world class violinist, but I do have to agree for this specific piece his interpretation is the best I can find on UA-cam.
But still think perman is *WAYYY WAYYY MUCH MUCH BETTER* lollol😚
No need to compare, both are magnificent!
too fast
Giulia Sardi I sorta agree :/
?
Nope
no
Way too fast. Joshua Bell's version is much better, in this case.
But I disagree...
