This is a really good vid showing how you do these splits. Calm & clear as ever. Great content, thanks.

Great video, always brings a smile to my face to see a new video available from you. You show how to create a few queens easily which is all that many of us needs

We were talking about the mini mating nucs last night on Sawmill Charlies Live Chat. I think I may look into them a little more, I mentioned your channel to them. Thanks for sharing your time, Blessed Days...

The mini mating nucs are working out well for me. Once they’re up and running it’s simple to produce a few queens which are a handy resource

Thanks for this video. I love seeing your vid about nuc.
I wonder how you transfer this to a big hive.

I don’t do a lot of transferring, I prefer to use the mini nucs for queen rearing and let the bees stay in those.

Hope things are ok with you, I've watched your videos about 10 times each and eagerly new videos. Oxalic acid glycerin extender sponges combined with other treatments make beekeeping almost like it was before varroa. Don't let varroa kill your enjoyment of beekeeping.

Hi Doug. Thanks for checking in. Sorry I haven’t been doing videos lately. Life is busy and other things take priority. I’ve been thinking about varroa a lot lately. It sure is going to be a steap learning curve. But for now it’s just the great unknown of when is it going to get here

Hi Ben. I think you've mentioned it before in a couple of vids, but what nutritional additive do you put in your sugar syrup and where you source it please?

Hi Jason. In some cases I do put hivealive in but I’m not at the moment. It causes more bees to drown in the feeder. I was using it as a preservative but now I just try and use all the feed as quickly as possible so it doesn’t spoil. I buy hivealive from Nuplas when I do buy it

Okay, hivealive great thank you 👍.
To stop my syrup spoiling I add about a half tsp of apple cider vinegar to a 3litre mix of sugar syrup, plus a half tsp of Apiary Boost or Ultra Bee pollen substitute and mix in.
In terms of a pollen sub, I think you use Vitahive, as it's a premix pattie. Is that correct?

Yes that’s right. I have tried making my own but they don’t seem to use it as well. I find they throw some out the front and some on the bottom board. The pre made ones they use better

Thank you. The recipe for Apiary Boost says equal parts by weight of pollen powder & white sugar, plus 2:1 sugar syrup mixed into a paste. I also add a bit of lemon rind into my syrup, plus a cutting of fresh thyme & a few grains of rock salt. They can't suck it down fast enough!
