    • @AzianAssassin

      It's the geometry. The 1.5in spacers are inboard to the frame enough, that the resulting lift between tire and wheel well makes it 3 inches.

  • @martinnedyalkov9185
    @martinnedyalkov9185 3 роки тому +1

    Ben for the drop kit Why put a larger hole spacer on the spikes just to accommodate the lip? Just mill the smaller spacer a bit wired on the bottom. The way you are doing it now puts way too much pressure on the bottom and its more prone to snap.

    • @hrg_tv
      @hrg_tv  3 роки тому

      I understand what you are saying but that’s is not true based on our experience. The large hole spacer fits flush.There is no additional pressure and the wider hole has nothing to do with the tip. The bolts in fact do snap easily when people install the spacers incorrectly. I actually explain this in the video at 4:10. At one point we were drilling the smaller ones out but it added labor cost and people were still installing them wrong. It didn’t solve anything so we switched to a spacer that was already the correct size.. It’s worth mentioning there are guys that have had this kit correctly installed for 3 years and counting, trouble-free.

    • @martinnedyalkov9185
      @martinnedyalkov9185 3 роки тому

      @@hrg_tv Just saw your comment. Yes, I saw that in the video but the way it is now you are putting all the stress on the lip. Which is preferable to the alternative, but it's still not the best way to do it. I don't know anything about the production I guess it makes sense to have a different item for this position to avoid people messing it up.. Just saying it can be better. Let's hope we all drive our cars trouble-free.

    • @hrg_tv
      @hrg_tv  3 роки тому +1

      @@martinnedyalkov9185 Your statement implies that we have no idea what we are doing. You might be right about that, but we are always learning and improving our products. We noticed the failures you are worried about do actually happen but only when the spacers aren’t installed properly. So the real challenge is showing the proper way, which I feel like we have accomplished with this video.

    Hello hrg fam I did a 3in strut spacer lift on my 2gen and now having trouble with alignment too much positive camber. I installed front camber bolts but only helped a little would the engine drop kit fix the problem

    • @hrg_tv
      @hrg_tv  2 роки тому

      The engine drop kit only drops the engine 1/4”, it does not affect suspension geometry. Your best bet is to install a shorter spacer. A 3 inch spacer is too tall for these. 2.5 is pushing it and works best with a 1” subframe drop.

      The mileage is not effected by the lift, but by installing larger, heavier tires, roof baskets, and heavy off-road gear. The lift does cause poor on-road handling. The engine and transmission will seem sluggish after installing larger, heavier tires. If your main concerns are mileage and handling you may want to consider leaving your vehicle stock.
