Ryan’s brain is just filled with too much information. The intro covered more info than the average JiuJitsuka comprehended but was sooo important what he said. The dude is smart.
His instructional dvds are amazing too, over ten years ago this guys dvds made my game. At 40 I can still walk in to gyms and avoid heels hooks , back takes and darces, plus my half guard still kicks ass. Thanks to this guys instruction. But I did train 3x a day and delay my career too 🤣🤣🤣, but even with my great career it’s cool to go into gyms and not let leg locks scare me cuz I’ve been doing them all my 16 years of jiu jitsu 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@dudeflynn2781 Yeah his back take dvd is the game changer that took me from Blue to Purple. I was in a real rut before watching that. Now I've bought and watched everything he puts out. It's all worth 10x the price.
@@dudeflynn2781 for real. When you've got guys like Lachlan Giles saying his instructionals changed the way he did Jiu Jitsu then you know that guys like Ryan Hall and John Danaher are some of the pioneers in their martial art.
Loving the shell stuff. Haven’t heard high knee shield half guard referred to as the shell before but it makes sense in a broader martial arts context. More shell stuff Ryan!
I don't think it's exactly high knee shield. I've never heard of the shell before either, but looks like his knee is on the far shoulder/armpit in the shell. Not the same side like it would be with a knee shield/scissor half. Also seemed like he stepped on the same side shoulder to get to that position.
I feel like Ryan is wasted in the UFC, he should move to the PFL or something where the marketing element isn't the determining factor in arranging fights. Ryans got a great personality but its not the kind of personality the UFC excels at promoting, this isn't to criticise the UFC at all though.
criticize the UFC a bit, Ryan's one of the most interesting fighters in the game, and we don't get to see him fight. Unique and effective and cerebral and defensive, very underrated kicking game, and such a refreshing personality compared to typical fighters; from juiced brutes to unhinged egotism. The UFC was not good at promoting GSP either, some people you don't need to "promote," put the camera on them and let them fight. Ryan could be a massive star that pulls in more than the "just bleed" crowd. A thoughtful and deadly martial artist doesn't need a ridiculous persona. Fedor barely spoke, GSP was never great on the mic, Jon Jones was never electrifying outside of the match (later sensationalism with the criminal activity and frequent drug violations) but the point stands. stop wasting this potential superstar, potential champion. Ryan could certainly be an all time great, but he has to be able to fight. UFC won't release him if they don't have to, he's pretty stuck. I guess he's my favourite fighter currently competing in the UFC, and i don't get to see him compete.
Or criticise the UFC for not letting the best fight until they allow him to fight. We like the UFC because the best fight there, the drama promotions are secondary. More people watch because a guy is the best inside the octagon than the people who watches because a man called another man stupid with a shit fight to back it up. Just tell the UFC repeatedly to not kill the chicken of the golden eggs because of greediness, let the best fight and amongst the best if they want to promote more the more controversial i am ok with it, as far as they are is the best fighters. Not cool to sacrifice combat hability for drama hability, in my oppinion many people think the same way.
I would probably suggest the same because he can potentialy get more money, but let's not be confused, the reason he doesn't fight is not because of the UFC, they offer him fights (good ones as well, like Ricardo Lamas)
@@Merrick If he doesn't fight it's not the UFC's fault. They offer him fights, and good ones like Ricardo Lamas. If he only fought 4 times in 5 years it's his fault, like injuries or something, and that wont be better outside of the UFC
Top Gun joke, "I was doing this in a match one time ...I actually have a great polaroid from down in there" "well if you were busy grappling how did you manage that" "it's cause I was... inverted"
My favorite part about BJJ is the fact that you can say things like "if you want, you can go there and learn it from him yourself."
“Because I was inverted” 🤣 You pretty young to be making Top Gun references. Classic.
I’d argue that mid 30’s is a solid age for Mav & Goose references. 😎
This guy is the El Cucuy of his divison everyone and their mama avoids him 😂😂💯💪🏽
