i’ve watched so many tutorials and this was the only one that i could fully understand! thank you so much man, loads of love❤️
I’m glad it helped you it took me a bunch of videos and trial and error to get it to work.
Thank you so much for this tutorial, this is the only one that made sense to me and I was able to make great progress on my coif!!
So glad it helped!
I used a narrow straight tip, tin snips, when I started. Later, I went to a narrow Dremel cut off wheel. String the spring onto a sacrificial dowel rod, and cut about 3/4 through. Light passes. Then, just snap them off. Little less rag. I was dumpster diving cable TV wire leftovers, from the cable company. 😉👍
Oh man that’s a game changer!!! I just bought some cut off wheels too!
Danke
Thanks a lot!
Awsome stuff here sir.
Thank you!!!
Thanks dude I’m going to do this for a while just started
No problem!
You can make your springs, soak them in vinegar to remove the galvanized later then cut.
Oh that’s a good idea! Thank you!
Thanks for the great and clear instruction. I have tried to start at the center and expand, but it is way to fiddly. Any chance you can tell me how you closed up the top? I know you lost the footage, but perhaps I could understand a quick synopsis.
Thank you! Yes I would do a row and then put it over it on my son’s head and see how close I was to closing the top and then do another row and so on until it was closed. You could maybe use a bowl upside down. But think if you had a watermelon or some kind of melon around to put it over that will give you a better actual head shape. Hope that helps!!
Ah good ole butted maille I wish there was a good way of making riveted mail
Yea I was looking at the riveted maille and that’s more than I have time for right now but I want to try it in the future!
Wow, tedious, my kind of project. Lol
Yes very tedious but I am addicted!! Breaks are definitely required through out though.
Bro,
First, let me start by saying, "I love watching you work".
Second, the word 'Coif' is French in origin. They pronounce it "Kwahf".
That is very good to know! Thank you!
I want order 1000 rings from Amazon, since I can't make myself, is 1000 enough?
That’d be cutting it pretty close. It all depends on head size and if you want to do a full or half coif.
@@safety3rdforge245 I want make a full also my head not so big
@@safety3rdforge245 I think i going buy 1500 for safe
@@theshittyone4985 yea that should be pretty good. Hey and if you need to just order some more.
All that work for some low quality, not functional butted 'chainmail'.
