Phyllis liked to use that teriyaki sauce in various things. I watched one of her videos the other day where she was making pot roast and put teriyaki in the cooking pot with the meat and veg. I'll have to pick up some and try it, she's got me curious. RIP, dear girl, we miss you to the max.
You should have a cookbook. I have been watching and enjoying you cook and bake. I even made a pie crust for your quiche lorraine recipe. I had one slice and my husband ate the rest within 24 hours. I just love your southern style cooking and your kind, calm nature.
Phyllis Stokes is like an pair of familiar old comfortable shoes. I feel so close to her, love watching her, she's a person you wish you knew in real life...always teaches me something new, with each recipe, even though I've been cooking for decades. But just hearing her voice, seeing her cooking, she's as comfortable and easy as the comfort food she makes. God bless her. Miss her so much.
Revisiting this recipe. This is a very frugal meal which is perfect to freeze and have on hand during this difficult time. RIP Phyllis, you are missed. 💗
👍I like how you use a Serrated Edge Utility Knife for cutting various items in the kitchen. Forget all of those fancy schmancy knives, that one cuts & works just fine. 💞
Your sister is right, I started using this recipe in the mid70's, too. It went along with the widely made sweep steak, which was round steak or Chuck roast, with the same soup mix on top, with a can of mushroom soup, wrapped in foil and baked. They were both really good, easy recipes. I'd almost forgotten these recipes, till I saw your video. Thx
Miss you Miss Phyllis 💕 I made your meatloaf last night but with ground turkey because the store was all out of ground beef. Substituted yellow pepper for the green pepper. I ended up cooking it about 25min. extra as I don't think my oven gets as hot as yours but it turned out delicious!
Thank you for the tips on cooking & recipes. I've told my sis about your blog & she cooks very little!! I am an older lady too but still cook (love to for me & family). Thanks again for you are much appreciated. God Bless YOU
I've been on a Phyllis Stokes video binge for DAYS and I just have to tell you even at 55, I've learned so, so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your helpful (understatement) videos! One little request; I haven't come across a lasagne recipe from you yet; the next time you fix some, may we see it, please? P.S. - Trying this meatloaf for supper tonight. :)
Ms. Phyllis this recipe is delicious. Thank you for these videos and all the information you give to us. It is good to know that there are wonderful people like you and Mr. Bucky in the world. You and Mr. Bucky are always in my prayers.
I love when you print out your recipes I do a screen shoot of them and I have them forever thank you so much I enjoy all your recipes this is the first one I'm going to try myself I'm not that great of a cook will let you know how it comes out God bless
Ahh, good ole comfort food meatloaf. I use gloves to mix my meatloaf. Your best tools are your hands that God gave you. I like to make my meatloaft with oatmeal for the binding along side with mashed potatoes and corn or string beans. Yum!
Wow Phyllis is the frugal housewife.... I love watching women who have their kitchens and cooking down to a science. In this she knows the cost down to the penny that her meals are. She reuses packaging for freezing meals for future use in measured portions. What a gal. That being said, it is hard to watch Phyllis knowing she is no longer with us. RIP dear lady.
I made this today along with your fried sweet potatoes. Both were a hit with the husband. For the meatloaf, I did add some garlic powder and some black pepper. I'll be making this again. Thank you for doing the videos! Can't wait to try more of your recipes.
I've made meatloaf a variety of different ways but never quite this way. I can't wait to try it, it looks great. Thank you for another southern recipe made easy. I am happy I found your channel.
Hafa Adai from Guam, that's a delicious looking meatloaf Ms. Stokes and I love the way you say teriyaki. Lol, how cute. Just me Geri and have a great day!
For me one ingredient that really makes a meatloaf something special is dill. There's something about it with the onions and peppers (I also add shredded carrots and celery) that just tastes incredible. I will usually make these in a cupcake tray so I will have individual servings. They're very easy to freeze and it's good for portion control.
i made this meatloaf tonight, it was wonderful! i made the mistake of getting the chardonnay instead of the white wine mustard but it was ok, i never tasted meatloaf like this before, and will be doing this again ! thank u , gonna do the cube steaks very soon.
Missing you miss Phyllis everything you cook looks soo delicious i want some of your meatloaf with that sauce and one with your gravy - garlic mashed potatoes sautéed spinach some sweet tea and a slice of your orange cake. 😋☺️ I’m praying you are doing well and responding to chemotherapy I am so worried about you friend. 😞🙏🏾
Hi Phyllis! I made this last night for dinner and I must say that the glaze was excellent!! The meat loaf was good too but next time I would make a couple of small changes. First I'd add a little garlic and onion powder, then I would make a little extra of that excellent glaze and add about 1/3 Cup right into the meat loaf mix!
Yes, a tiny bit of garlic powder. Or what I sometimes do is saute my chopped onions with some finely chopped garlic first. I always at least soften the onions before making the meatloaf. And I don't like green bell pepper in a meatloaf. If I don't use diced celery, then I would use a yellow or red bell pepper, cooked with the onions also. Then allow the cooked onions and peppers to cool before making the meatloaf. But she used a food processor and got the veggies really fine, I should try that. I have to try her recipe for this and especially the glaze. One variation I have done is using a small can of Rotel spicy tomatoes, drained, in place of tomato sauce or ketchup.
Hi miss Phyllis looks yummy just almost just like my grandma's brown sugar meatloaf. Everything is the same as far as your ingredients except gram put about 2 tbsp of brown sugar in the meat and a bout 2 tbsp ketchup in and insted of teriaki6 she used worshtishre and the sauce was ketchup worshtishre brown sugar so very similar always loved it so I know it's delicious great memories thanks Phyllis
Phyllis - since I subscribed, YT keeps suggesting more of your vids. This one is from exactly 6 and a half years ago. Funny, because I just made two meatloaves a few days ago. I had the 3 pound pack from Kroger for 5.97 on sale. I used a recipe I got from Americas Test Kitchen last year. Yours is so much simpler, I will try it next time. Especially the idea of using a food processor to really get my onions and celery or red pepper almost minced. That way I won't have to cook them to soften them first. And I'm going to try the teriyaki sauce part for the glaze. I don't have those loaf pans, so I used two 8X8 casserole dishes. After one of them cooled I just covered it with foil and stuck the whole thing in the freezer. That way I can warm it up later in the oven. That's a great tip to slice them up and freeze them like you did, with the wax paper in between. Thanks!
Hello Ms. Phyllis. Receipe looks great. Looks really Yummi. Will have this made for me. I just love your channel and am so happy I found it. I also love Mr. Buckys channel. I wish you and Mr. Bucky a wonderfull and blessed day. May GOD BLESS YOU, MR. BUCKY AND YOUR LOVED ONES. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany. 9. May 2016
Thanks, Phyllis. I'm sure, I like many of your viewers have a few meatloaf recipes, but this is one that I will keep in my go to's. Easy, tasty, and economical! One question, though, I noticed that you didn't place wax paper on the bottom of the container, just wondering if the meat would stick to the bottom without it? I have one in the oven right now and don't expect to have enough left to freeze. However, next time I might go for double the recipe. Thanks
Hi, Miss Phyllis. Everyday I check online for any news from you. I know the Lord is with you and making you well and strong again. Hallelujah! I wrote you a letter and pray for you continually
I love meatloaf - if I cook in advance, and slice up, could I re-heat the slices in the oven or do you prefer the microwave? Cooking for church potluck.
thank you Phyllis that helps a lot i just started looking at your videos in the last two or three weeks or so and i like the way you show everything and detail it i love to cook and learn i am 63 and stay home a lot so i love your tips on other things as will...... stay blessed
Aha! You showed me what I did wrong. The last time I made meatloaf I thought I'd freeze some. I made up a lot, cooked one, and froze two. Where I went wrong was I froze them raw. Big mistake. The flavor (onions, etc.) didn't last through the freezing. What I cooked fresh was good. What I froze, after thawing and baking. wasn't fit to eat. I drowned it in catsup, but it was still a memorable failure. It turned into a Campbell's night.
I saw her put it in gravy!
"tereyaka" and "loaf pan well greezed" From Idaho and I love your diction, Miss Phyllis!!
Oh Phyllis, how I wish you could say teriyaka! Sauce once more!I miss you so much!❤️ RIP
Meatloaf is one of my favorites. I love watching you cook Phyllis. I miss you dearly..
You should have a cookbook. I have been watching and enjoying you cook and bake. I even made a pie crust for your quiche lorraine recipe. I had one slice and my husband ate the rest within 24 hours. I just love your southern style cooking and your kind, calm nature.
I gots to stop watching these so late makes me want to eat but learning always learning thanks so much.
who would ever dislike this video.......Mrs. Stokes was wonderful. RIP

Ms P- I wish I could eat at your table every day!
So delicious and economical! You are the queen of freezing food and planning ahead of time.
I love this recipe and wish I could see you again my sweet friend, making another video..but until we meet again in Glory...Pray for us down here.
I’ve never seen the onions and peppers ground up like that..bet it’s good and makes the meatloaf moist.
👍I like how you use a Serrated Edge Utility Knife for cutting various items in the kitchen. Forget all of those fancy schmancy knives, that one cuts & works just fine. 💞
Hmmmm good! Made it tonight! Miss Phyllis, your videos just keep on giving! Bless you!

O yay! I'd been skipping hither and yon through your videos and managed to miss lasagna, a typical move for me, tho - thanks, Phyllis! :)
Her videos have flooded my notifications...
Oh, the last 4 minutes I used the broiler, and that really caramelized the glaze nicely!
Ms. Phyllis this recipe is delicious. Thank you for these videos and all the information you give to us. It is good to know that there are wonderful people like you and Mr. Bucky in the world. You and Mr. Bucky are always in my prayers.

I honestly have these in the oven for the final 20 minutes. Can not wait to try!
Hafa Adai from Guam, that's a delicious looking meatloaf Ms. Stokes and I love the way you say teriyaki. Lol, how cute.

I tried your scrambled eggs today and the way you make them is perfect. My eggs came out just great. Thank you

Cool variations that you’ve suggested. I think I’ll try them.

Phyllis, i must say you are very smart. I like how you cook enough and freeze everything. i wish i had a large deep freezer.
I am so happy I found your videos
Love it! Gonna try your sauce , Thanks!
Thank you much. It's nice to search for your recipes, it's almost like calling a good friend and asking for recipe.

Love meat loaf, been, been looking for a good reciepe. Will give this a try. Thanks for showing how to freeze this.
i got some peppers and choped them up and put them in the freezer works great in fryed taters
Nothing better than ground or grated onion. The onion juice imparts such good flavor vs just chopping.
I made this and it is awesome!!!
looks delish, I like to put an envelope of beef and onion dry soup mix in my meatloaf as well
Yummy meatloaf! Thanks for sharing your recipe. I'm going to try your way next time. I just have to get me some Teriyaki sauce!
Looks so delicious !!
Meatloaf looks good. i'd be tempted to use more teriyaki (terry- ock-ee) sauce cuz i love it. Ty for all your work in these vids.
👍Terrific recipe. Thanks. 💞
GIRL! Ya gonna get us fat with all these great recipes! I will be making this tomorrow. Thank you dear. :0)
RIP dear Ms. Phyllis and Mr. Bucky.
Yes when you get better make us a cookbook! Praying you get well, that you are safe & comforted by The Holy Spirit over Mr Bucky passing.
Yummy. Looks soo good. Thanks..
Brilliant!
Love you, Miss Phyllis… 🕊
I love meatloaf - if I cook in advance, and slice up, could I re-heat the slices in the oven or do you prefer the microwave? Cooking for church potluck.
i dont eat a lot of ground beef so i would like to know some things to make out of ground trukey please
Most of the time you can substitute ground turkey for ground beef in things like meatloaf, burgers and casseroles.
thank you Phyllis that helps a lot i just started looking at your videos in the last two or three weeks or so and i like the way you show everything and detail it i love to cook and learn i am 63 and stay home a lot so i love your tips on other things as will...... stay blessed
Hi Phyllis I'm making the meatloaf tonight. Looks yummy. What would be good to serve with this.?
Cream potatoes and green beans maybe add a little salad too.
Looks delish!
this recipe looks really good but how do you reheat the frozen meatloaf?
Did you grease pans with Crisco?
Yummmm thank you so much.
Phyllis, doesn't squeezing the meat so much make the meatloaf tough?
I'm not sure, although I do like my meatloaf firm for slicing for sandwiches
the next day.
Wish they sold those containers to individuals. Maybe we should all chip in and buy a truck load. 😄
Phyllis, good thing I'm not your husband. I would have eaten half of one meatloaf. Lol.
Couldn't you freeze the grease and use next time you make meatloaf gravy?
I know this is an old Vlog.. But I want to make this recipe. I would have to buy another loaf pan.. But that is OK.. I need 2 anyway..
Looks yummy
I miss her saying "teri ah ka"
My gosh I'm so hungry!! :)

I never knew teriyaki sauce could go in so many things. It shocks me.
Still can’t grasp she will no longer be in her kitchen
I'm reallyig enjoying your videos thanks
I likey
If I was to make this I would leave the onion and pepper out use onion powder black pepper
good but I use oatmeal in my meatloaf instead of bread crumbsyours look great .hey Mr b.☁☔🌈⚡
😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
Oops, put my comment on the wrong recipe video, sorry, but I'm sure you know the video I meant, lol
You're fine I knew the video you were talking about.
Don't have other animals, it's too much heartbreak
