On my 2018 Scat Pack shaker, I put long tube headers 1 7/8 Kooks Headers, and High Flow catalytic converters. It was slightly louder and tougher sounding than stock but not too loud. Basically it was perfect. Your Scat Pack is a bit too loud for my taste, but I'm old and when I was your age I had loud cars. So I completely understand
Another advantage of your setup is that you’re still legal with cats and don’t have to worry about inspection. I’m sure it sounds awesome, thanks for watching!
@@KCars when I bought my Scat Pack, 2 years ago , I watched your channel and I decided to buy Kooks long tube headers. I got a tune and throttle body and I made 464 horsepower at the wheels on a Dynojet.
I remember back when straight pipe and loud as possible was my thing. Now I enjoy my challenger being able to be nice a quiet on trips and let the active exhaust open it up when I'm in the mood.
When I was your age, I wanted my cars as loud as humanly possible. Made a habit of running around with open headers on my 70 goat, the neighbors were NOT amused. Same thing 15 years ago when I would uncork the 540 in my 800+ HP 69 goat and drive around setting off car alarms for fun. My personal record was 7 in less than a mile. These days in my mid 50's I want my Mopar to be stealth and quiet the vast majority of the time. If I did anything, it would be to add electric dumps so I could raise hell when the mood struck me but go back to stealth at the touch of a button.
@@KCars So did I man...even up till my early 40's. Now I just want to cruise quietly (but still at very high speeds) and listen to some Pink Floyd or Zeppelin. When I finally get around to dropping in the Procharger kit, hopefully next month, I also want to be able to hear the whine of the blower!

Your buddy's Challenger sounds really sick with the renso's eliminated, and did the same on my SRT8. I don’t think it’s enough to support the price but the sound definitely makes up for it. They added 48 hp with a dyno tune which is more than I was expecting
Yes. It was pretty noticeable whenever I floored it the first time because it lost a lot more traction. I can barely do a 2nd gear pull now because it doesn’t have enough traction with these tires

With current market prices, Kooks headers & connection pipes are gonna run you about $2500. If you have a '15 or newer Chally or Charger, you'll need to get your PCM unlocked. There are different options for this, but usually involve the purchase of a tuner module at the same time. Highly recommend HP Tuners for this. PCM unlock is about $600 when you buy their tuner module & software. If you're paying someone to install the headers, I'm guessing about $1500-2k in labor for that.
