the thing is in korea those who are already healthy weight try to lose weight and so not only dangerous but its also difficult. As the woman said, koreans often are always eating restrictively which makes them enter a metabolism plateau.. if they’re never meeting the daily calorific needs, they cannot lose any weight. It’s sad because most koreans (and other east asians like chinese ) tend to already be very slim and stil try to lose weight- these ideals lead to eating disorders being to common :(

THIS!!! People need to be much more aware in Korea that having a slim body is not healthy for everyone and you should listen to your hunger and needs and stay healthy with exercise. Your smallest size is not ur healthiest! And being slim is not the only beautiful body type.

I believe that Koreans can definitely be like that because it seems to be more of a cultural norm to be skinny in South Korea. Compared to Koreans raised in America, who tend to have more fat in their hips and a smaller waist, I have noticed this trend not only among Koreans but also among Chinese, Filipinos, and Taiwanese living in America.

As an asian american I'm really not sure. For example the girl at 3:37-- I don't know if I've ever seen an asian girl with a hip to waist ratio like this even if she does work out. This is just my observations of the people around me but I think asian women tend to carry weight in the midsection and black women in the hips. Diet and lifestyle are important but I think it is also just genetics.

    • @user-mc1zi9lMno8K
      @user-mc1zi9lMno8K 5 днів тому +2

@@soulanstreets222 not entirely correct, Ethnicity can play a big part in body shape/porportions because certain races tend to have higher muscle masses and body types, for example- Studies show Black Americans had the highest muscle mass and bone density whilst Asian Americans had the lowest muscle mass and bone density.
Since Asians have been studied to have lower bone density and muscle mass they are known to have the Ectomorphic body type whilst africans americans (who are westeners- which she was comparing koreans too) are most commonly mesomorphs due to high muscle mass and bone density.
an Ectomorphic body type- Characterised by a lean build with low body fat is the body type most Asians have which is why most asians are not curvy, 'thick' or muscular. It however doesnt mean they cant achieve it, its just harder for Asians to build muscle mass because of their gentic predispositions which is why you barely see Asians built like westeners.
Body types (Endomorphic, Mesomorphic and ectomorphic) are all packaged differently across ethnicity groups due to genetic predispositions. Ethnicity doesnt strictlyyyy determine body SHAPE but it can shape the baseline body composition, muscle distrubution, bone structure and how the body shape manifests. So in doing so she was technically not that wrong saying that "Koreans cant get those types of bodies" she's just making a generalisation which can be backed up.

4:46 well yeah it's cuz they workout and eat well. IT'S NOT THAT WESTERN PEOPLE LOSE WEIGHT JUST ON THEIR STOMACH. Unlike the "diet" that is promoted in korea where you starve yourself which makes you loose wight, but a lot of that weight is muscle mass. If you workout your other part of body while being in calorie deficit you can grow the parts of your body like your booty and your stomach will be flat.

I think the problem in Korea is that people are after fad diets. Like juice diet and eating an apple a day... That way yes you cna lose weight quickly because you literally starve yourself, but you will gain it back just as quickly. You need to stop following diet fads, and just adhere to the simple maths: calories in, calories out + mind what your calories actually are. Korean cuisine is SO healthy, but people started eating junk food there too. all the street food is deep fried, greasy and unhealthy in Korea as well. Stick to the "old" Korean cuisine. Lots of veggies, protein, limited amount of rice, almost no added sugar and make sure you don't eat more than your maintenance calories. Then exercise, run, walk, dance, whatever your fave movement is. the calories burnt from your maintenance calories will cause you to slowly lose weight. don't expect miracles in 2 weeks, that's unsustainable. 1-2kg weight loss per week is healthy. Lost 20 kg this way.

Also, Law, a direct comment to you. Like you don’t need to lose wait my friend, you look healthy and good. I understand in Korea there are bunch of standards, but like sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me. Let me tell ya, all you need is good mindset about yourself and what you want from life. Going to gym is good, but not for others, more for yourself. Plus, what’s the point of looking good when in the head there is nothing bright? Meaning poor mindset. That’s why I always question the beauty standards.
Just wanted to give some encouragement, because people don’t get it enough to be content with themselves.

4:54. The amount that she's eating in a sitting indicates to me that she may have had bariatric surgery. Given her body condition before and after as well. That's not to diminish her progress, you still workout and eat well after surgery and it is incredibly difficult and a mental challenge due to prior bad habits. It's not a ticket out in the way people dismiss it. What it does do is help with messed up hunger signals by removing some of the production of ghrelin. Being overweight is almost always tied to too high of hunger, something you can't control, but some learn through diet to be able to deal with and others need surgery because the signal is so messed up.
If I'm wrong, that's fine, but if I'm right, it's messed up that society would try to diminish her amazing freaking progress and health improvement because surgery is frowned upon and she might feel a need to not say that it could have been part of it. It also gives a false expectation of reality (and a lot of "just diet fatty" rhetoric) because most obese people don't stop being obese. Bodies do not like losing fat as it could mean starvation in ancient times. It's why we can put on so much, we just simply never evolved to not be able to and a lot of food is both calorie dense and nutrient-less in today's production. Most obese people are often actually nutrient deficient as highly caloric food often doesn't have good nutrient composition. It's a weird problem to have in first world or other nations that have high food production, but low health education, poverty and low nutrition for people who carry children.
Same goes for quite a few of the morbidly obese persons in this. They did amazing!

Don't diet!! The formula for building a beautiful body is as follows: an appropriate amount of body fat, your caloric intake, your protein intake, weight training to build muscle, walking, and most importantly CONSISTENCY!!!
STEP 1: Eat an appropriate amount of CALORIES for your goal. If you want to lose fat, eat slightly less than your body needs (around 500 calories below maintenance for safe fat loss). To maintain your weight, eat exactly what you need, and if you want to gain weight, eat more than you need. There are online calculators to help you find your calorie target. Most people need around 2,000 calories daily, but this varies based on size, age, muscle mass, and height. Whatever you eat, make sure it fits within your caloric window for your goal, or you won’t see results. You don’t need to restrict any food groups-eat what you enjoy as long as it aligns with your calorie needs (for fat loss, gain, or maintenance). Some foods are higher in calories, so it’s smart to enjoy them in moderation to reach your goals efficiently.
STEP 2: Know the amount of PROTEIN you need to eat for your body. Protein builds and sustains muscle, which is essential for everyone, especially as we age and need muscle mass to support our bodies. For men, multiply your weight (or ideal weight) in kg by 0.84, and for women, multiply it by 0.75 for your minimum daily grams of protein. To build muscle, aim for 1.4-2.2 grams per kilogram of your goal weight. For example, if you want to weigh 60 kg, aim for 84-132g daily. Protein powder can help meet your goal, but whole foods like fish, beef, chicken, beans, tofu, shrimp, and turkey provide more nutrients and should be the focus.
STEP 3: BUILD MUSCLE. Simply go to the gym and lift weights, focusing on progressive overload. Gradually increase your weights or reps to challenge your muscles. Protein intake is essential here-when you weight train, you create tiny tears in your muscles, and protein helps repair and grow them. Without adequate protein, muscle growth will stall.
STEP 4: WALKING! Running and excessive cardio aren’t necessary to build a fit body. If your goal is fat loss, running excessively can lead to rapid weight loss, which may cause loose skin. While cardio isn’t bad, weight training should be your primary focus. Walking 30 minutes daily is typically enough cardio and supports mental health and calorie burn on non-gym days.
STEP 5: CONSISTENCY. This is the most crucial step. Consistency over time is how you achieve lasting results. You won’t see major change in just a week, but after a month of following these steps, you’ll start noticing progress. Building a fit body is simple but requires regular effort. Anyone can do it! If you slip up, don’t give up-get back on track and keep going. it is a lifestyle change which is why many people fail. they arent ready to change their habits but if you are serious about it, you will make a way to change! you can do it!
Ps. A FOOD SCALE HELPS TREMENDOUSLY TO LEARN HOW TO MEASURE CALORIES! SEARCH THAT UP AS WELL AND HOW TO USE IT ON YOUR JOURNEY!! ❤

Diet food sucks. You need to be eating food that has fewer calories while still feeling full that is the best diet. So like the recommended calories a day for women is 1,600-2,400 so if you are on the shorter side it would typically be 1,600 that means you would eat just 1,100 calories a day. For example breakfast one omelet is 94 calories and a glass of milk is 103 calories, lunch 1 cup spaghetti 221 calories and water, dinner ramen noddle soup 188 calories and water (just listing random common food this might not be the best lol). Just trying to show how little calories food actually has so proportions matter. You can still eat things like pizza if you have a smaller slice and only one slice once a week if you really love pizza. Weight loss diets just mean eating smaller portions that total to the calorical intake you find is best for your goal. Also one comment mentions how Koreans don't even meet the calorie intake and if that is so first meet that because it might be better to eat the max calories and workout because your body already isn't used to being in a good condition plus when you workout intensively you have to eat the max or maybe even more speak with a personal trainer or nutritionist and remember everyone's body is different so the same thing someone else is doing may not work for your body.
