- Hope ya'll enjoy this rare audio clip of the Cathedrals in 1968! Bobby Clark was on the original recording of Unclouded Day, but left soon after, thus it became a concert staple for Mack Taunton. Taunton's rendition of Unclouded Day years later at the Cathedrals Reunion was a highlight of the night! It's neat to hear how it sounded in concert back in '68.
Members:
Bass - George Younce
Baritone/Pianist - Danny Koker
Lead - Glen Payne
Tenor - Mack Taunton
Guitarist - Vic Clay
Posting this in honor of Mack Taunton, who turned 80 a few days ago! Thankful that some gospel legends like him are still around!
Mac Taunton yessir!!
George and Glen look so young! Such great memories from my childhood! Thanks for sharing!
Love it.
This is the oldest live footage I’ve ever heard from the Cathedrals!
I have one of this same lineup from 1967, but that is the earliest live recording I have. One day I hope to find something out there of the original group!
@@thecathedralquartetfans3795 Yeah I just listened to “Mama’s Teaching Angels….” from Mac Taunton. He might’ve been the best tenor they ever had, but they’ve had many excellent tenors. There’s been a lot of debates on that, I’m sure.
