Very very helpful and useful video! Thanks for sharing. I'm about to start making a sculpture today, and this lesson has been beyond my expectations, resolved all my questions. Thanks again.
Thank you for showing your work methods. I just wondered -when you use the sticks for building and afterwards remove those… won’t they leave air trapped in the clay? Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰
this is a different armature stand. Watch my viriato sculplture and you will see how i did it. The sculpture is a 3 prong stand i remove the bolts and slide it back mid way into the sculpture.
Q: I take a long to sculpt a figure. I usually use oil. I’ll work on it then weeks later work on it again. I would like to try water based clay. Will it work with my style of sculpting ?
For water based sculpting you have to cover it with a plastic bag and water it so it does not dry out. It's more work to keep workable, but i have done sculpts for weeks and weeks up to several months. Key is wrapping it well.

How do you hollow this out to fire it?
How to remove the sculpture from the armature stand?

My agony is waiting for clay to harden a bit till I can carry on. It takes so long I usually have two going at once. Love your videos. So thorough.
Thanks Megan. Always good to have 2 sculptures going at the same time.
