Hello, I wanted to tell you that I love this video and if you have more lol I’ll get to them also…. I’m a retired Department of defense electrical engineer , I was forced into retirement I’m 59, a disabling auto accident … so I have always been good with a pencil sculpting carving , but I never learned from someone that could share the things a person can show you as you are doing for me here , thank you!
Wonderful...that is the best class I ever had... I was struggling for the measurement part while sculpting head... this is making my study easy... thanks a lot...🙏
baylego well, now you know SOMETHING. 😊 Thank you for the kind words. If you ever feel like diving into sculpture please check out our website: NMA.art
Thanks for the video. I've learned a lot from it! You took measurements from one side of the head. But because of a human face is not totally symmetrical I would suggest that it's important to take measurements of the both sides.
caraca. espetacular. muito show. incrível. por fim, por mais que eu diga que a aula foi show, não vai ser bastante pra dizer que foi massa. obrigado por compartilhar
Very impressive good course, well explained, i love it! Still, never having work with oil clay myself, is that mean that the base and metal structure have to remain (inside the sculpture) untill the sculpture dismantling after, for example, molding it? Thanks again for your good instructions! A+
hey, excellent lesson! can you share what is width of the wire you use and where do you buy the metal things (don't know the name sorry) and what they are called (those who keep the wire attached to the 1/2 pipe)- thanks!
Isn't the distance from the ATN to nosetip for example, different on both sides of the head? If one of your ears is set further back there will be a longer distance.
Human measurement are rarely ever going to be perfectly symmetrical. It's up to the artist to build this asymmetry into the portrait, but is for more advanced sculptors with a solid anatomical knowledge. Sculpting symmetrically is good technical practice.
Reuven Magnes thank you. This is a sample of the full course which is at nma.art website. There won’t be any more samples from this course here on UA-cam so if you would like to continue with it head to our site. 👍🏼
Stelios Kapet there’s a way to restore a water based piece if it gets too dry. It involves us wing wet cloths to slowly get it damp. You don’t want to do it too quickly.
This is a good lesson. But the explanation and his understanding of oil and water based clays differences are just idiotic. It’s 100% different materials, and even the same word “clay” is used only in English, oil based is Plasticine / Plastiline. Gives a really strange feeling of the professional level.

Can I still enter?1:38:42 i want to learn sculpture behind you.
Excellent sir. But what's of the clay.

What gauge armature wire is this?
Oh!!!! If you get these comments I do not know. I wanted to ask you if you’ve used a clay caked monster clay?
Gracias mis deseos ojala que hablarán en castellano...
🙏🏻❤
Is this clay better than the monster clay? I don’t like at all the oily texture of most plastelines
With Clay it's more about advantages and disadvantages. For scale portrait you're probably better off using a plastilina like this over Monster.
I'm looking for the hairline on a model who is bald. I don't see any indication of where it might have once been. Any suggestions?
It's the plane change from the front to the top
loved this video. Will there be a part 2 ?

How to prevent Silicosis in clay

My water based clay piece broke the other time because it dried. I tried to put water on it to let it get more soft but it melted completely

Really exhausting

A lot of clay for that Beak and ears. That’s time and a half

Oil and water are simply what is added to the mud so that it is easily workable. They are both truly Clay.
