How can he have structure with no home? If you are trying to treat adhd the natural way/no medication, it takes a constant strict routine and and takes a while to find out what works for that person. She doesn’t have the time to do this for her boy. So maybe he has to be on it temporarily until she can get herself to a place where she can focus on his needs…but being a single mother it’s going to be hard to find that time.

He shouldn’t have to bear the brunt of his condition and be sedated when his condition is the result of him not having structure or a home. You don't know that unless you have a medical license and have diagnosed the child. That's why I teach students now who can't function in a classroom and smoking weed every morning trying to self medicate. There is nothing wrong with medication when it's taken properly with behavioral control.

My grandson has it. I don't like meds. But while you reject the next best option, the child can be at risk. He will be pressured at school, be a public embarrassment to his parents and a risk to himself and other etc, because he has no control over his own actions. If meds is the next best solution she must get him on it sooner than later. Unless she has a safer alternative or she is prepared to pay to have him in the right training environment.

Or will try to self medicate the child to prevent backlash from others that think meds are not necessary for children! I'm glad people don't ignore getting medication for depression, bipolarism and schizophrenia! There are ENOUGH unmedicated Psychopaths in the world already! If medicated EARLY ENOUGH, the child will learn to adapt to it's affect and possibly be able to be weened off of it by the age of adolescents. I have relatives that have gone through life struggling to maintain a normal life because they didn't get the meds they needed growing up! Some are in jail and every one them have been in jail! My doctor told me that a parent should have their child do a sleep study, a lot of times the child is sleeping but NOT resting properly, therefore they do everything like being bad to try to stay awake…. Sleep deprivation is a real problem for children and adults don’t realize it…

My grandson has it. I don't like meds. But while you reject the next best option, the child can be at risk. He will be pressured at school, be a public embarrassment to his parents and a risk to himself and other etc, because he has no control over his own actions. If meds is the next best solution she must get him on it sooner than later. Unless she has a safer alternative or she is prepared to pay to have him in the right training environment.
It’s all about a check for all of these parents and grandparents who put these kids on medication. They will drug these kids up for a payday.

When they have to deal with a child that's hard to keep calm, getting calls from the school, not being able to control them in public, constantly moving around, can't be quiet for more than 1 minute, etc... they'll be first in line trying to get the medication AND CHECK for the childs disability! Or will try to self medicate the child to prevent backlash from others that think meds are not necessary for children! I'm glad people don't ignore getting medication for depression, bipolarism and schizophrenia! There are ENOUGH unmedicated Psychopaths in the world already! If medicated EARLY ENOUGH, the child will learn to adapt to it's affect and possibly be able to be weened off of it by the age of adolescents. I have relatives that have gone through life struggling to maintain a normal life because they didn't get the meds they needed growing up! Some are in jail and every one them have been in jail! My doctor told me that a parent should have their child do a sleep study, a lot of times the child is sleeping but NOT resting properly, therefore they do everything like being bad to try to stay awake…. Sleep deprivation is a real problem for children and adults don’t realize it…

I work in a school and I can tell you that kids that are ADHD have a problem with how things are being delivered to the brain. It can be hard for them. I too am against meds but some kids do need it so that they are able to progress in school.
I agree! I have an autistic son and I was ALWAYS against medicine. But once he was 12, weighs 178lbs and he’s 5’8, I had to. When he’s upset he seems aggressive and when he’s not with me that aggression looks a like a big black kid ready to be violent. I did it to calm him when I’m not around.
