A Completely Different Way To Construct Solid Wooden Furniture
Вставка

- I've been trying a few different ways of making furniture out of smaller pieces of scrap. I'm not sure if this method is more, or less work than traditional construction, but it was a lot of fun.

#EpicUpCycling - Навчання та стиль
Broadcast TV died when Epic UpCycling started putting out videos - it's way more satisfying to watch a master-craftsman build something from scraps than to watch a bunch of people act.
You forgot no ads👍🏻 well I’ve not sofar anyway
If only that were true and the majority of the people in the world enjoyed watching this instead of garbage reality tv, it would be a much better world.
I enjoy both.
Mack of Midwest Magic Cleaning recommended you, so here I am. 😎
Me too!
I think what I like best is seeing all the stuff I've watched you make over the years in the background. The nightstands are awesome too. Love the snap at the end.
Right! I love how each piece is added and utilized making his workshop into an art piece.
I don't know about anyone else but those look 100 times better than anything store bought. Am, as always, impressed. 👍
The only regret I have is, I can't give it two thumbs up.
Neither can a lot of woodworkers irl…
@@sambishop3211 🤣🤣🤣
That's ok, I'll give it a second one for you. Us Jeffs need to stick together.
another thumbs up from me as well
Here ye go, mate. Cheers.
I KNEW you were gonna make two of 'em, I just KNEW it. And with a snap of the fingers.....TWO!! I laughed, and laughed. Thanks for the entertainment, Jason. You keep making 'em, and I'll keep watching 'em.
When I can’t sleep at night I put one of your videos on. Always relaxes me and get me to sleep real quick! Then I gotta rewatch the next day to see what I missed 😂
Midwest cleaning sent me over
If there was a cabinetmaking Oscar night, you would win all the trophies. You are just awesome. Thank's for sharing what you do 😏
Thanks very much :)
UA-cam woodworking is obsessed with clamps. Love that you built these using only one, and then only to make it square. As always very inspirational, thanks for sharing
Not in this video but I always like it when Jason uses a few opposing wedges to do what other UA-camrs would use twenty 4 foot clamps for.
I once saw your Narnia closet thumbnail and went like "Oh yeah, let's bash that fraud..." here I still am as a humble subscriber
This is literally thinking outside the box
Awesome as always! It's a great pleasure to watch you at work 😊🤗
Thanks :)
Good wood at a good price ,honest people
That is the business. Solid and beautiful.
Beautiful work! Yep! The magical duplicating finger snap!
Looks like a set of bedroom nightstands.
Loving the round endgrains showing. Great job.
Thanks 👍
Seeing you finally smile at the very end is the highlight!
Brilliant!! Also sent by Midwest Magic Cleaning
At 14:28 as you were sanding down your latest and amazing creation, I was noticing the COOLEST things behind you and I watched you build them all. What a super clean and neat workshop you have!! I click the THUMBS UP before I even begin to watch any of your videos because it's a sure thing I will really like whatever you make! I really enjoyed this A LOT! Great idea! If I saw these somewhere I'd not hesitate to buy them both! Just AWESOME!
Thanks very much :)
Finally a good use for pressed wood. I couldn't believe I was seeing that in your shop at first! LOL Love the tables!!
Love the “chonky ” style of these set of drawers. They would look so good in my mid century modern house.
Another mesmerising build, ingenious design and inevitably satisfying outcome. Don't mind admitting I'm rather envious of your talents my friend. Once again thanks for sharing.
As a former cabinet maker, I really enjoyed seeing this project. The dark accents added to this work. It turned out really nice. Kudos.
Thanks very much :)
Как всегда превосходно!!! Мастер!!! Жму руку вам!!! И крепкого здоровья вам и всем вашим близким!!!
👍
the chopin of woodworking ❤
You found a different way to make something beautiful.
Thanks :)
It looks like it may be a little more work. For a lot of satisfaction. They look so good. Thank you for sharing.
To answer your musings of whether or not this process was more work versus other methods, might I remind you of the pieces you have built where you meticulously shape HUNDREDS OF SMALL PIECES to glue together, stain, etc. Your patience is amazing and incredibly inspiring.
Another fantastic piece. Thank you for sharing your process.
Thanks Eric :)
I love watching you work in your shop. You remind me so much of my grandfather, he was a builder also. And if I was quiet, I could sit and watch him, and I would watch him for hours.
I wanted to thank you for helping me to remember a part of my childhood. It just brings me wonderful memories of my grandfather.
I can’t wait to see what you’re going to make next and looking into your shop with all the different cabinets you made. It’s beautiful.
Thanks Kathy. I've got a big project on at the moment which is going to take a while so there might be a few smaller videos over the next few weeks.
Any job you do is a joy to behold, you know your getting something from nothing worth everything
Sometimes i wish you was on here a lot more than you are
But i know the work the time the editing means there's only so much you can do
So i truly appreciate your time and effort very much and i impatiently wait for you next masterpiece
Nice work Jason your a credit to the youtube community
Thank you, Mark. I wish I could get more videos out, but yes, the editing makes it slow work. Hopefully not too long until the next one 🙂
perfect free-hand half-blind dovetails. WOW. amazing skill.
I love this project- a very cool idea for scraps.
I really enjoyed the peace and quite of this video without the performance-malarky. Thank you.
Wow the nightstand is beautifully done. Now you can make a set of dressers.
You sir are most definitely in my top 3 of the most talented people on UA-cam 😊
that magic trick takes the cake!
Utterly stunned by all your projects. The same care & attention goes into everything...be they bedside tables, or enormous storage units...just perfection!
Man for a minute there I thought you were going to be building those out of particle board! I was thinking: "Wow! This I have GOT to see!" This makes more sense though! A very good way to use up a bunch of scraps!
Same, brother, same. Somewhat relieved when he went back to the scraps.
Just the total concept is amazing combined with your natural ability and craftsmanship Jason, just so watchable and absorbing.
Thanks very much, David.
Outstanding. No pun intended 😊
Fantastic. I loved watching how this (these) little nightstand or chest took shape. What a beautiful end result.
my dream workshop !
It took me a minute to figure out where you were going, but once I did, I actually said "How cool!" out loud to nobody but the cats. Your shop is looking AMAZING these days!
I have two thumbs, so I will. 👍👍.
Epic UpCycling, indeed.
While watching the assembly of the particle boards, I thought "What's he up to?" at first. Then it reminded me of what - trying hard not to spoil new viewers here - them folks at the furniture shop across the street use for some large-quantity projects. Very clever way to ensure matching measurements.
As always, it's a true pleasure watching your videos. Well done, Jason.
Cheers.
Thanks very much :)
Как всегда, просто ОГОНЬ!!!!
I agree with JMS. Those are better looking than anything on the market. Using the broken cabinet to be the template for the new ones was brilliant. Great job, and I like how you have added the figure Snap to create the second on.
Been watching this channel for a few years now. The method by which most everything you build is different. Unconventional. Still very interesting, unique, quite useful and always entertaining. And sometimes I learn something too so I'm a subscriber for life.
Your talent and creativity are second to none! I love the look of your workshop, it has made a huge transformation over the years from all the projects that you have done! Thank you for posting these works of art and have a great day!
Thanks very much :)
Love this. Just found an old Stanley router plane in a French barn. I'll be restoring that next week.
The skill and precision goes without saying but I'm struck by what a powerful mind you have to visualize all these amazing creations and make them a reality.
I love your work. All this old-school tool's. My father wars a cabinetmaker.
Kind regards from Dresden Germany
The artistry is captivating and the patience this demands is admirable.
Ich bewundere seine Ruhe und Gelassenheit
Я Вас обожаю! Как у Вас всё красиво и эстетично!
Craftmanship when it's art❤
What can I say....there are few people in this world with the talent you possess, Jason. I been at it for 65 to 70 years and still enjoy any wood work. Only flaw is you talk way to much...........I am subbing anyway.
Always A wonderful surprise to see another great video from Jason!!!
BRAVO! In that simplicity a whale of beauty👍
These are beautiful! And MMC says hi
Bravo, what a delightful pair of drawer cabinets
Really super cute! Never disappoint!
Great video! Mack from Midwest Magic Cleaning sent me.
I was actually about to start doing what my wife considers an important job when I saw this appear. I felt very pleased with myself for figuring out what the melamine boards were for almost instantly. Obviously there was no way they were going to be part of the final product! It's always mind blowing to think of the work behind the finger snap duplication!!
I really like this set. I’m glad you chose the lighter finish for the butcher block areas, and the darker legs and hardware are a nice accent. It’s a beautiful innovation, and a method to remember for other projects.
A different method but still the same quality of work you must have been a teacher at a well-respected school or a carpenter by trade, but you still take it to the next level thanks for another great video
You are the wonderful carpenter and your wife plays the flute in the garden in the background. The result is again miraculous. Greetings from the Netherlands.
How ingenious! What a cool way to use up all those small scraps. I wish more people would get more into the spirit of "waste not, want not."
By the way, that routing plane is a thing of beauty !
One of my favourite tools :)
A little of this a little of that and voilà a work of art.
What can one say other than Brilliant. These builds are just mesmerising, as others have commented, who needs mainstream junk TV! 👌
I came into this video pretty skeptical. In love with the idea by the end. What it's about : making useful beautiful things from common materials, not fragile works of art from $ and plastic. Thanks a bunch.
You are a crafty little devil. I love these nightstands. I was hoping through this entire video you were making two. I should've just known - you dont do things halfway. Great job.
Thanks very much :)
Your creativity is, as always inspiring. Once again I am in awe. Also, to see your workshop in the background and realise I have watched you create every one of them over the years. You could give guided tours and you would have queues of people wanting to see "the master craftsman" and your amazing creations.
Yes, I am unashamedly addicted to your videos and hope to see many, many more.
Thanks very much, Julia :)
Как всегда отличный результат. И как всегда не стандартные идеи. Спасибо.
You sir are undeniably one of only a very few that have the skills and vision to do this type of work. I love it.
I must say, sir, I'm really enjoying your videos. And I can't begin to explain how envious I am of your shop. You've gained a loyal viewer, Love those little "night stands"!
They turned out well and I'm sure would make a welcome addition to any bedroom. Brilliant, thanks for the upload.
Thanks :)
This. Is. BRILLIANT. Simple enough for a Cro Magnon such as myself to create, fancy enough that design houses would charge hundreds for it.
That's incredible, what a beautiful turnout! Amazing job :)
Normally, most people turn their scrap wood into chopping boards. But this is next level! Well done Jason 👍
Thanks Graham 👍
@@EpicUpCycling You're very welcome buddy 👍
It's the same concept of segmented turning! Wonderful idea and video!
Another astounding result. And what a great idea. I’m definitely going to pinch this idea. Thx.
How dare you make scraps look that good! Frig, I don't have a thickness planer but, now I want to do something like this. Well done!
Wow, just beautiful, very, very beautiful. ❤
ich warte immer auf neue vids.. und werde nie enttäuscht.. danke für das tolle video....
I am always amazed when I watch this channel. This man is a magician with wood.
Instantly watch, no regrets. Epic as always.
*I love the end grain pieces mixed in. That, and the dark legs/handles. Fantastic work.*
Thanks :)
Love his work and creativity. Anyone else notice how close he lets his fingers get to blades (specifically with the table saw ... less than an inch!!)
I don't know. This guy has real skills. I wouldn't question anything that he does. (although he could use an outfeed table :)
All of those pieces sitting on the work bench to be put back together looks intimidating
I want you to know that even though I seem to have missed your name somewhere along the line, I just love watching you work. You are a TRUE MASTER. Thank You ,Sir!
Thanks very much.
Jason.
What a refreshing way to use your scraps. Love the way you used the melamine for the mold. Keep going Master. 😅
Your vids are flooding youtube. Very good skills!
Most individuals that own $100,000 worth of equipment. Having 30+ yrs in an occupation would make you a Master Carpenter.
So, yes all your projects are masterfully done.
So, whether you use scrap or mahogany, I would expect any project to be completed exceptional.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you never ask a viewer for donations!
Splendid? I'll take both, thank you very much.
All of those different wood grains look so awesome together! Wicked cool idea!
Thanks :)
Absolutely wonderful! I love The Snap at the end - it's better than Thanos!
Another "Epic" build video, just love these trash to treasure videos
The finger snap was cool. But the build using scraps and the base frame is brilliant. Another great video. Thank you!
Thanks very much :)
Those were truly epic! They look great. Thanks again for another inspirational video!
Thanks 👍
