    Love it. Yes its handmade by an artisan even if they didnt make the m&p from scratch. I love cp, however my two absolute best sellers are m&p. One is an over the top intricate (one of a kind design) huge unicorn soap and the other is a deceptivly simple honey salt bar. It is absolutely impossible to recreate either using CP or hp....I cant even come close to these amazing designs...and I've tried for years. I will never understand the soap snobbery in this regard. Love your design.
    Ps. I also dont mind layers anywhere near as much when I use m&p

    Thank you for this video.❤ I've been MP soaping for half a year now and it kind of shocked me how excluding quite a few CP soapers are with MP. There's also a lot of ignorance because many people think you just melt soap and stir in some stuff and then pour it into a mold, while you can do so much more than that with it. (I do MP because I live in an old tiny apartment in a European city and have no room for oils and curing.)

    If you happen to come across this comment, Mrs S &C, could I please make a request for next year's Project Soapway to be opened up to melt and pour soapers also? I think it would be great fun, and it would definitely inspire some new innovations to be able to meet the requirements for the challenges. Just a hopeful thought! I love your channel and the content, and I am not in any way offering criticism of any kind! Thank you for posting such awesome videos!

    I've only done a little M&P myself. My partner got me some really awesome individual bar molds from Etsy for Christmas that feature some AWESOME dragon motifs. I haven't tried CP in them yet but I have done M&P. I brushed in some mica to color the surface and in that way made some gorgeous soaps. Can't bring myself to USE the one I kept though... lol
    As to M&P, I agree. Not a fan of the soap gatekeeping. M&P'ers are still making one of a kind hand crafted soapy things! And I sure as shit don't have the patience or talent for their style of soapery. So the haters can go do crude things into the wind...

    New but learning fast. Have made a melt and pour oatmeal, honey bar with triple butter M&P. Used ground oats 1/2 0z and added some raw Honey 1 tbs to 1lb batch. One customer said bar was leaking oil on her tub. My bars haven't done that. She is in Louisiana.
    This got me to searching, found you the Chemists.. I now want to make my own melt and pour, watched all three of those.
    My question is which store bought bases are best for adding oats to it.
    I see M & p with oats but really want to add my own amount.
    When I added honey however I've not got any clue what that does to triple butter base.
    I also see folks mixing clear with white.
    Some transparent are not made with glycerin is that correct.
    Sorry I think out loud.. text that way to.
    I'm searching for a video on what some of these bases you buy will do
    Mistakes if you add too much.
    I know adding over a teaspoon of oil per lb will mess up most.
    Does the book you mentioned get this detailed .
    Thanks
    Ups just dropped of my Bramble berry order.. here we go..

    HELLO, I HAVE BEEN MAKING MP SOAP FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS AND I HAVE LEARNED MANY THINGS FROM YOUR VIDEO.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 1. I HAD NO IDEA WHY MY SOAP WOULD NOT STICK TOGETHER WHEN POURING ANOTHER LAYER. I WOULD ADD TOO MUCH ALCOHOL. 2. I DIDN'T ALSO KNOW THAT WHEN YOU ARE HEATING UP THE SOAP AND STIRRING IT, IT TURNS WEIRD. I WOULD DO THAT ALSO ALL THE TIME. I ALWAYS WONDERED WHY MP SOAPERS ALWAYS GOT THEIR SOAP RUNNY AND I DIDN'T 😂😂😂 NOW I KNOW THE ANSWER.

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t know what the base is, so maybe! If you call it anything other than soap (so shampoo, etc) then you need to label it according to cosmetic requirements, so yes all ingredients. If it’s just soap, no ingredients list is legally required. I did a four part series on labeling guidelines in year 2 if you’d like more info!

    I’ve never done glycerin soap crafting, though it does look fun and I’ve seen some lovely soaps from other people. The idea of carrying a bowl of hot liquid soap through my kitchen while trying not to step on any of the cats weaving in and out of my feet terrifies me 😆
    I will say, I’ve been a pedantic fuck since the day I hatched 🐣 and as such, I refer to working with purchased “melt and pour” as soap crafting, not soap making, due to the lack of saponification being facilitated.

    • @iKit306
      @iKit306 3 роки тому +1

      That language, which I understand that rationale for why you use it, is still kind of gatekeeping soap making. M&P soap makers are still MAKING the designs and the loaves and bars. It's like... telling someone they didn't make a cake because they used a box mix versus from scratch. They still made it.
      Also, I am FAR more worried about my fuzz faced companion when I'm doing my CP soaping than with my lotion bars and other melt in the microwave crafts. Please tell me when you soap they're put away so they can't weave around your feet? Spilling lye-containing soap batter on him... I would feel so so horrible.

    The microwaving of 30 sec then intervals of 10 secs drove me crazy. I am a bit afraid of the cold process because of lye but one day I will.
