    So the Sony XP700 is a decent box speaker from sony… and for the most part its little brother the Sony XP500 is decent as well. Its got all new drivers and a more dynamic looking light feature. However, the XP500 is a speaker that you’re going to want to use mostly while its plugged in cause running off of its internal battery, performance wise the XP500 really leaves you wanting more.

    I bought it, I've been using it for about 2 months, like he said, unplugged from power, it is not that loud, but the sound takes up a bigger space and sounds better than a small speaker, for me at least. And plugged in, its just dope.

    I like very clear and non-garbly sound on the XP500.
    Sony needs to up their bass game on these larger model though like JBL did with the Partybox line.

    Good that there is a review like this, had a long long time a go an xb20 when it came out, but had to change it to jbl because of battery-loudness shit when it unloads the battery, the loudness came down. Now its time to get something bigger, so seeing this review, i think im gonna take jbl partybox 310

    Glad I watched your review before buying this thing. It's crazy expensive in my neck of the woods (somewhere in Southern afrcia😊) but I was drawn to its compact size and it's guitar and karaoke functions, but the line "leave you wanting more" has convinced me to pass. I wanted something for parties and small karaoke gigs that I arrange and get paid for, I will keep on looking for something else. Suggestions are welcome.

    So, the XP700 weighs over 37 pounds or 26.9 kilos. That is a lot of weight to be considered portable. It's also very expensive. My solution is to get the XP 500 and buy a portable lithium ion battery from Bluetti or Jackory. Now you have the bass output and an independent power source if you want to party more remotely.

    The reason why you hear compression in the sound from the speaker it’s because the amplifier is protecting the speaker drivers from being blown out

      I madly love the PK7. Bought two of them back three years ago for less than 200€ together and have them running on Stereo ever since. I was blown away how much they improved after the software update. So you say there's no need to get the XP500 when I already own the PK7 line?
      For reference: I also own two of the XP700 now, got them in Stereo-Mode. Thinking about upgrading two more XP500's to Party Connect them. 🙂

    Bought two of this speaker and I am really loving the stereo mode and quality of music it produces. Although I have to agree that when unplugged it is not as impressive when plugged in. I just have a slight problem now because whenever I use the 3.5mm input the sound will only be available on one speaker. And in defence I am not really a tech guy so I am hoping to get some advice here😅.

    • @samuelvista
      @samuelvista 11 місяців тому

      due to the 3.5mm being auxillary and not digitally through bluetooth regularly, party connect won't work. since the other speaker won't have an input to get, and the speaker can only stay on one input, so if auxillary is in, it will override any other input method besides usb.

    Dude is super short making this look massive. It’s the most compact big well made speaker you can buy. So for the best music quality I can sacrifice some loudness. It’s flossing on JBL, that look like garbage. And Sony shit is made right. This ain’t being mass produced for idiot US Walmart slime shoppers yet…

    I purchased the XP500 today, found out how bad it sounded on battery, and returned it. I replaced it with a Partybox 100 and while there's still a slight difference in output when plugged in vs on battery, it's absolutely nowhere near as bad as the XP500. I'm not returning the Partybox 100.
