So the Sony XP700 is a decent box speaker from sony… and for the most part its little brother the Sony XP500 is decent as well. Its got all new drivers and a more dynamic looking light feature. However, the XP500 is a speaker that you’re going to want to use mostly while its plugged in cause running off of its internal battery, performance wise the XP500 really leaves you wanting more.

I love my XP500. Plugged, unplugged or buttplugged.

@@homie-gtv322 loud enough when play it with the battery?
@Felix Leon Definitely. For New Year celebration I had it bumping unplugged.
I auditioned it today, it sounded much better than the xp700. The bass response and fidelity were much better.
I bought it, I've been using it for about 2 months, like he said, unplugged from power, it is not that loud, but the sound takes up a bigger space and sounds better than a small speaker, for me at least. And plugged in, its just dope.
yep, exactly. the bass at low volumes feels like its playing loudly i love it
Exactly I have also
Xp500 sounds soooooooo good in person I can hardly believe it
@@LoveStory-ng8gp Use the stamina mode
So true. Many reviews say jbl is better, but this speaker is great. The only thing is that it doesn't get as loud as it should. Other than that, ita a fantastic speaker
@@franklingomez2169I came up with same conclusion after testing this speaker and JBl 110 at Best Buy,plugged in.. way better sound ..
Thank you for this comparison
I like very clear and non-garbly sound on the XP500.
Sony needs to up their bass game on these larger model though like JBL did with the Partybox line.
All though jbl has more bass the bass ain’t bad your should hear it irl
Very informative review. Thanks for posting.
I have the XP500 and it’s a amazing speaker
Good that there is a review like this, had a long long time a go an xb20 when it came out, but had to change it to jbl because of battery-loudness shit when it unloads the battery, the loudness came down. Now its time to get something bigger, so seeing this review, i think im gonna take jbl partybox 310

Glad I watched your review before buying this thing. It's crazy expensive in my neck of the woods (somewhere in Southern afrcia😊) but I was drawn to its compact size and it's guitar and karaoke functions, but the line "leave you wanting more" has convinced me to pass. I wanted something for parties and small karaoke gigs that I arrange and get paid for, I will keep on looking for something else. Suggestions are welcome.
PARTYBOX 110… if you can find it. PARTYBOX 100 is also better than the Sony.
They not
Salve bel video complimenti..posso chiederti come suona il sony srs xp 43? Grazie
do u mean that its sound is better when u plug it in with electricity ?? or is it just about the volume ??
What’s the sound quality like at medium volume ?
I’d like a speaker that sounds good turned up , but quality wise still sounds good turned down as background music for barbecues etc
will you test the brand new Soundcore Life P3 against some competitors in the same price range like Galaxy Buds Plus etc.?
Is xp500 louder than boombox 2? I have boombox 2 but want something louder for the outside.
Max volume can go upto how much battery backup ?
That looks so cool
So, the XP700 weighs over 37 pounds or 26.9 kilos. That is a lot of weight to be considered portable. It's also very expensive. My solution is to get the XP 500 and buy a portable lithium ion battery from Bluetti or Jackory. Now you have the bass output and an independent power source if you want to party more remotely.
En modo stereo es un 🤯 espectacular
Do you think two of these speakers plugged would be good for an outside party
May i know the power output of this speaker?
I have just bought this speaker and i wish i would of seen this before as the sound you loose if its not plugged in is massive hardly no bass and loose 20% of the sound... when its plugged in its great sounds amazing.. ive contacted sony customer support who are aware of the issue so hooefully an update for this speaker will be out very soon
Have they fix the problem? Let me know if they do
@@latinochico same
did they fix it? I'm looking to buy this speaker
@@djborna6409 its great
The reason why you hear compression in the sound from the speaker it’s because the amplifier is protecting the speaker drivers from being blown out
Sony should do the same thing that lg did to the pk5 and pk7 release an update to make the xp500 and xp700 louder
Yeah the pk7 sounds louder than this speaker when not plugged in lol
I madly love the PK7. Bought two of them back three years ago for less than 200€ together and have them running on Stereo ever since. I was blown away how much they improved after the software update. So you say there's no need to get the XP500 when I already own the PK7 line?
For reference: I also own two of the XP700 now, got them in Stereo-Mode. Thinking about upgrading two more XP500's to Party Connect them. 🙂
I just buy today and I try to connect to Sony tv but it won't work
Bought two of this speaker and I am really loving the stereo mode and quality of music it produces. Although I have to agree that when unplugged it is not as impressive when plugged in. I just have a slight problem now because whenever I use the 3.5mm input the sound will only be available on one speaker. And in defence I am not really a tech guy so I am hoping to get some advice here😅.
due to the 3.5mm being auxillary and not digitally through bluetooth regularly, party connect won't work. since the other speaker won't have an input to get, and the speaker can only stay on one input, so if auxillary is in, it will override any other input method besides usb.
Is there a way to put a code for Bluetooth so no one can access it?
better this or stanmore II??
Is it worth for outdoor parties?
Is there a way to pair this with a TV? I wonder how this might work in place of a soundbar?
I connected to my tv and sounds good
@@danielsanchez2369 thanks!
Thanks.
Nothing brings a party to screeching halt like Sony Party Connect! This is a ongoing issue even with previous models.
love this review...done subscribe bro
Thanks
@@GYMCADDY Watt? 500?
I recommend if your looking outdoor party speaker just choose samsung mxt-70 so loud ang strong bass believe me
Dude is super short making this look massive. It’s the most compact big well made speaker you can buy. So for the best music quality I can sacrifice some loudness. It’s flossing on JBL, that look like garbage. And Sony shit is made right. This ain’t being mass produced for idiot US Walmart slime shoppers yet…
Does it damage the batterry if you use it plugged in?
omg! $350.. bought 2.. $700.. the price of one high end speaker.. connected them in stereo mode and omg.. i see lots of reviews on a single speaker.. try two in stereo..
I purchased the XP500 today, found out how bad it sounded on battery, and returned it. I replaced it with a Partybox 100 and while there's still a slight difference in output when plugged in vs on battery, it's absolutely nowhere near as bad as the XP500. I'm not returning the Partybox 100.
Anyone knows if it affects the battery if it's always plugged in???
No
Can you connect a electric violin to it?
Any instrument, I just connected my bass guitar and sounded decent
Can you review about MI 16W bluetooth speaker?
Wow that max volume is weak af. Would like to see it compared to the jbl party box 100.
Same here
Kinda impossible to judge real actual max volume in a video
@@steffenflindt8670 well when you compare it to other speakers it puts into perspective how low the volume is.
@@milkmade22 well that sucks as I plan to buy this speaker tomorrow 😅
@@steffenflindt8670 don’t get a jbl they are worth the price.
U have a lots of speakers there can u give me some? I want that speaker but i dont have enough money 😢
Thanks the plugged in is way better im go with the JBL partybox
Anyone know what's better sony srs 500 or sony gtx xb60
Was a Sony xb60 sounds completely muffled whereas the Sony XP500 sounds more open masonry has put out their new Sony xv500 which has a much balanced sound signature a much better vocal Ford EQ an overall sounds really balanced so I would spring for the new Sony xv500
What they should've done: Made the XG500 as big as the XP700 and added a built-in subwoofer.
I'd pay $1000 for something really puts out deep and low bass outside, not plugged in.
Compare the XP500 to the JBL Partybox 100
Not same build quality. JBL needs upgrade
I just bought this speaker. I'll have to charge and compare the sound plugged, and unplugged. If I hear a difference, I'm returning.
Were you able to hear a difference?
