About 30 years ago I lived in a 143 for one year. Loved it. Simple living. Laundry in Charlton on my way to Dover. Shower on the ferry. Small camping gas stove. Kettle and small saucepan. Used these if I was stranded somewhere remote waiting for a return load. After a few months with the ' normal' people I moved back in for another 15 months. I can recommend it.
great to see you making more content Sandy, i know your flat out like the rest of us but i hope your 4 series will start to make some appearances long with a couple of other super cool V8's in the near future. it's fantastic there is know such an inspirational group of people on YT flying the flag for the industry 🤟
Cool video sandy you keep her serious clean im sure its not always possible espically with timber or flat bed work but always nice to spend a bit of time haveing pride sitting in every time to a clean cab.
Going back a few years (maybe more than a few) I remember a few trampers that slept in there cabs and had ropes / chains & dwangs still in the passenger foot well changed days.
Im a canadian truck driver and its super interesting to see all. The differences but many similarities between countries. When I started driving I had only a 52inch bunk so pretty similar in size to your cab and would spend 2 to 3 weeks out on the road. Now my cab is probably twice that size with only 3 to 5 night a week away from home. I also makes me laugh the differences in size and length of trucks and trailers, I can't imagine my 80ft truck and float trailer fitting on those roads, I barely fit on some if the roads In our older towns and cities.
Great way of explaining the nights away Sandy , i have 5 nights out s week & this is in a 7,1/2 T iveco , lucky for me it is a high cab twin sleeper , have a great onward trip 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
@@stuartcraigon2003 I only do uk now , however I did 35 yr doing uk , European & Middle East in a 7,1/2 T many yr in a day cab b4 sleepers came along , last truck I had on Europeans was a DAF LF45 Euro cab twin sleeper , no microwave or fridge freezer for me , mine is a kettle & a fridge on the passenger seat , would not change it for the world
Hi Sandy, love the vid. Just wondering whats the purpose of the diary at the start of the video, would you recommend all truckers to write down mileage, defects etc?
living in a truck is not a problem once u sort out the routine.i use to park nr leisure centres for a shower swim and sauna these days u have tv and microwaves etc and much better trucks
Drivers that don't like the idea of sleeping in the truck are probably mankie bar stewards and treat the truck like crap so they don't want to sleep in the dirty cab! 😂
I wouldn't agree.i spent 18years driveing day cabs to sleeping cabs never liked sleeping out liked to get home and cook my own dinner and come excercise but always maintained a spotless clean cab for if I had to sleep out and also a clean cab felt cosier and warmer
Cab ratting isn’t for everyone, did it for over 25 years in general haulage then international. The services are shit for drivers over , much better in Europe!

Seems like a good idea when you're young and daft. The thrill wears off quick
Oh but he’s got a scania mate that’s all that matters plus his £12 per hour for doing it🤦♂️
For the awful money you get paid I imagine it wears off fasssssst
@@recall2880 it’s a terrible job with terrible money. Unless you get a decent job. I’m on 50k 4 days a week 4 days off. Decent. Home every day.
Mate you ever think of making video about getting your operator licence and all that is involved in that? Could be very interesting video! Cheers
I couldn't tell on the video, but you do know that if you slide both seats forward you can pull the bed out a few more inches making it wider ?
