Love that Gibson ES-330 either a '63-65 model! And love me some Ernest Tubb! Just finished the GREAT documentary, 'Country Music." Directed by Ken Burns! Learned a lot...! I strongly recommend it! PBS 16 hours on 8 2 hours episodes!
Two great guitars, the Gibson ES-330 and E.T.’s famous Epiphone. Many long time C&W fans have expressed big disappointment with Ken Burns’ PBS series “Country Music”. The general opinion seems to be, a few parts excepted, it should have come with a plunger. It was oriented toward the. ‘crossover’ personalities rather than ‘hard country’ folks who got really short shrift. For example Johnny Cash got extensive time while Webb Pierce got barely a brief mention. For a while it was the DeFord Bailey show with political overtones. It was probably what should have been expected when the alleged story of country music was left in the unlikely hands of a leftist from New York to produce it and the deep pockets donor targeting PBS to air it.

@@jpb1231000 There are actually quite a few better histories & documentaries but you have to search for them under individual names like ‘The Buck Owens Story’ or ‘Story of Lefty Frizzell’ for example. You’ll learn a lot also if you take the time to read the comments with the individual posts. Regards
