In today's fingerpicking guitar lesson we learn how to play "You Got to Walk That Lonesome Valley" by Mississippi John Hurt. This is an old spiritual with a beautiful guitar part and arrangement from the delta blues legend. Hurt uses some interesting techniques and arranges the chords in a unique way.

Great lesson! this song was more difficult than I thought, I assumed I could get it easily because I already learned spike driver blues, but I was wrong. I almost had to unlearn that one to get this, took me a few days to get this down. Still can’t sing and play it though. Very good lesson and I’m impressed with your playing and singing. That muted bass note on the fifth string still trips me up a little.
