    Richie is my favorite "new" guitarist. He's a monster player, and has breathed new life into the mighty Priest.

      Totally agree! I found Judas Priest when I bought Screaming for Vengence! I was 13 and they have been my favorite band since. Ritchie is a incredible player. He has a Schenker vibe that I love. Very humble and class act just like the rest of Priest! MetalGods4ever!

    I decided not to go to a Priest show in Bogota in 2013 because I was upset about KK leaving the band at the time. I thought ''no way is Faulkner replacing KK''. I've regret it ever since! This guy is a top class guitarist in his own right.

    I love how Hendrix is STILL being revered, and continues to inspire younger guitarists to this day. He was my initial guitar "god" and still is, I'm happy his praises continue to be sung.

    Honestly hes fast becoming my favourite guitarist, I love how he uses speed...it's not just for the sake of it! I'm kinda sick 'just shred' guitarists , speed just to sound fast and crazy but no 'voice' Richie gets the perfect balance I think, in my opinion! And such a nice guy it seems!

      Never a truer statement. I used to play with Ritchie in an Alice Cooper tribute and I could tell then he would fly high. He just had the lot as a guitarist and a character. Total rocker.

    Richie's ace...he can really rip but importantly and as he says 'gaps' matter not widdly widdly.... Judas Priest with RF and Sneap Producing/playing are re-energised and renewed to the extent that its a really exciting chapter in their evolution; Sneap has had some undeserved flack - the guy needs to be cut some slack and allowed to make his mark and find his feet as we all would - fuck me, landing that gig then playing live with the greatest metal band on earth - we'd all need time to settle in FFS.....Sneap can riff like a MF plus he's massively important to metal.....I love all the cap-doffing to Schenker made in this great video ....Schenker is my No 1 player.....thanks to Sweetwater for another great interview!

    AT 16:00 Wah pedal discussion, I noticed his foot style too ( well, it was in the frame, how could I miss it? )
    Zakk uses Wah pedal too so here it is.

  • @jhs5150
    @jhs5150 6 років тому

    Schenker doesn't use the wah anymore, except on the older songs. He hasn't in at last 10 years but still gets those magical tones with just the guitar and his fingers. Ritchie's great and gave 'Priest an influx of energy. Great showman too, he really works the crowd. Good Interview.

    I love british accent.

    • @theant9821
      @theant9821 3 роки тому

      Which one? There are hundreds of them, north America has about 4 accents, the UK has about 4 accents every town.
      America doesn't have much history before railways, when accents were developed isolated from all other accents, but Europe has thousands of years of it.
      Hence why Brits all understand each other but Americans only understand Americans, they are used to listening to far more accent variations than we are in America.

    Analysing how to make music , speculating about which cord is going with which one, trying to make musik technical with a manual many seam to speculate in...is the biggest mistake of all time...THATS why Riche and guitarist music makers like him are totally right ;) its about making you're own, finding the things technical musicians will never achieve ..... thats a fact ;)
