  • Filmed in the Free-Flight/Radio Trim area of the ModelAir event at the excellent Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden, Bedfordshire on Saturday & Sunday, the 14th & 15th of May.
As usual, a very enjoyable event with a fantastic array of models (and people!), of which this video shows only a few.

I was also flying my Q-Tee and Schoolmaster. If you look up ''Q-Tee'' on Outerzone there is a picture from Saturday morning of both models with ''product placement'' of the Outerzone T-Shirt !

Thanks for the extra info, I didn't seem to get either of those on film. The "Q-Tee" is just what it says on the tin. Might be one to add to my list. What's the motor/ESC/prop set-up on it? Was it flying on a timer? Cheers :-)

Yes it's a Kavan Bloody Mary ARTF. Mine! It also can be seen at 9:00. It's about 12 years old and I took it along to fly when it was gusty as it has earned its keep many times over. Flies on a Speed 400 with gearbox. I mostly scratchbuild. At 1:58 is my Fizz. You can just make out the name if you stop frame. In case you're scratching your heads about that one too, it's a new build of a model I designed and built in 1973 with a Cox glow. It's on the lines on Ken Willard's models.

The Q-Tee was built from the top quality HangarCats short kit hangarcats.com/ My model is 3-channel RC. You can get the details here www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1921935
Keep the tail end light. Hope this motivates!!
PS - I was maybe one of the longest travelled to the Mayfly. We drove from Germany just for the event! Will be there again May13/14th 2017.

Good to know, thanks! That's quite a journey, a bit longer than mine... just 10 miles away! Very lucky to have it on my door step :-)

In the 70's I lived in Bedford and commuted to Vauxhall every day. Both my kids were born in Bedford. Attended all the model events at Old Warden (remember Kite Day?). Transferred to Opel, which is what got me to Germany. The long weekend to Old Warden and back is pure nostalgia and well worth all the driving. Not just for the model flying, but raiding Sainsbury's for pork pies, Cornish pasties, English sausages, English bacon.........
