Ustad Zakir Hussain (born 9 March 1951) is an Indian tabla player, composer, percussionist, music producer and film actor. He is the eldest son of tabla player Alla Rakha. He is widely considered as one of the greatest tabla players of all time.

I first saw Ustad Zakir ji way back in 1972 ,it was at the Sydney Town hall here in Australia and was accompanying Ali Akbah Khan .that was a night I shall never forget as i had the pleasure of meeting the the great artist he was even then as a young man of 21 years Im a retired percussionist from the jazz field and i had just begun to take Tabla lessons ,and its just wonderful to see him here on UA-cam
