There is a sincere sentiment reflected within the Quiet Man. No individual actor commands the stage; they really are bonded to the combined performance . The healing nature is very evident for those who have suffered at the hands of inclement events. I thank goodness for the original and cumulative experience I continue to still love.
Has anyone ever noticed Andrew V McLaglen a film director who has quite a few films of his own , is there a connection there ? the name and what does the V stand for?
Andrew Victor McLaglen, eldest son of Victor McLaglen. Victor claimed Andrew took Victor's academy award to college, used it as a paperweight, and eventually lost it.
@@ISIO-George i had the book Roger moores MY WORD IS my BOND and there a photograph of them together and Roger spoke about great affection for him , he is a very tall man he looks very very like him
Here's what confuses me.In 1978, I saw a beautiful IB 16mm print of this, then a few years later I watched it on TV, and it was an Eastman color copy, with the color all pink and magenta. This was the standard TV version for years, until one year in the late 80s, a very good video transfer of a Technicolor print was circulated to stations. But that version DISAPPEARED, and subsequent airings were of a blurry transfer that at least looked to be from Technicolor. But it was BLURRY! What happened?
The color is better in the restoration, but it still seems grainy compared with other Technicolor movies. It may be that being produced by Republic, a studio known for it's thriftiness, they used a cheaper, low grade film stock. Comparing Technicolor with other color films of the day was like comparing Kodachrome with Anscocolor or even Ektachrome. Compare this movie with "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" also starring John Wayne, which was slightly older, but the visuals are almost grainless.

Most of the restoration is good, but I prefer blue skies rather more than grey. I expected some cloning would have been done too, ie: ua-cam.com/video/g_QT_1MksXQ/v-deo.html Also the fly around her ear when on bike and there are still some audio mistakes. I expected the word National would be have been restored to National Freedom during the toast as in was in the original footage.

Love this movie. Miss these
Can't tell a real difference. Sometimes the left side of the screen looks better and others the right side.
fantastic movie
My favourite movie.
This such a great movie, what else can you say?
The restored version has too much yellow in it. The greens are supposed to be emerald, which the original release has.
Fantastique film acteurs inoubliables 💜💜💜
It's at least a two tissue box crier romance just love it
I like the color on the left more. The sunset looks better.
Looks great
Daß sind die Besten u. Brilliandesten Filme wie Schauspieler , Hollywoods.
This can't be right? The original/left has darker blacks and much much richer color.

Which one is which? The one on the left has better contrast and color. The one on the right seems a bit dull & washed out in comparison.
it looks better, but is that the best they could do for such a beloved classic?
Better, but not great. Hard to believe that's the best they can do.
My god I wish they could make films like this again instead of the garbage they throw at us

There is a Blu Ray version now which has a better resolution and stability. It's a lovely old film which deserves a full restoration.
