I wish there were some modern version of these machines. Would be great as a Terminal

The closest I have come across it the Pocket CHIP there are also some Raspberry PI like the beep berry. I am thinking about doing some videos on these small machines.

Planet Computer's Gemini PDA is the spiritual successor as it even uses Psion's keyboard and folding mechanism. Then, there's the GPD Pocket / GPD MicroPC. The aforementioned Pocket CHIP. And finally, the Beepy formerly known as Beepberry.

I had not heard of Gemini PDA, unfortunately they are currently out of stock but I would really like to get my hands on one of these to try out.

Honda 232 connector dealt with power and data enabling use of PCMCIA cards for networking/modems and duplicating a parallel port for printing.

Had a few of them back in 98/99. A "few" because the cable connecting the screen to the rest of the unit was notorius for breaking.

I can see how that would happen with these units. The design is cool but too many moving parts. The way the keyboard moves out looks good but overly complex.

I had the Psion Revo back in the day which was this smaller brother. Loved it!, I coud even develop software for it on the device, remember I did a paint program among others :) edit: Even used internet on it with my phone connected thru the serial ir interface lol. those where the days.

I remember serial IR trying to transfer files across it because it was new and wireless, forgetting and putting something in front or moving one of the devices and loosing the signal. Those were the days! Running the internet across 2.1G an entire 5Kb/s if you were lucky but the web pages only needed 5Kb/s as they were mostly text with maybe 1 or 2 low res images. Imagine trying to use the internet today on 5Kb/s.
