Sulphur Nymph, Old School Style, Holsinger's Fly Shop

- This week's video is an old school, no bead, just like your pappy used to use, Sulphur nymph. If you are a regular on this channel you would know that I am a euro nymph guy, and my tying style reflects that with the flies I share on here. I recently had an order for some sulphurs and Isonychia dry flies along with some weighted sulphur nymphs. After tying these for the customer, I shared a picture on Instagram and got a lot of interest in them. So, after a few requests I made a video of them. These nymphs will work great under whichever way you like to nymph fish.
Please go to www.holsingers... for any of the materials needed to tie this fly or other. Also, thanks for watching and if you haven't already, please subscribe to our channel to be updated with our new videos. Thanks for you continued support of the Holsinger's Fly Shop. -Shawn

“I’m ready to get the ice out of here”
Me too. But unfortunately it’s only the middle of February. Hang in there, we got a little while to go.
Yeah it will be here soon enough. I'm about to give in to my wife and move to a warmer climate
Great Fly Shawn. It was a pleasure meeting You at This Years Edison Show. If You remember My Buddy and I bought some BIG Stonefly Nymphs off of You. Hitting The South Branch of The Raritan here in Jersey. I hear The Sulphurs are starting. I'll sit down and Tie a few today.
Yes the sulphurs are on around my place now. Check out my newest video. It’s another sulphur variation and I’ve been fishing it pretty hard this week and catching fish with clients on it.
You have to love an old classic. Thanks for posting.
Yeah I’m getting a great response from this pattern. I’ll be sure to do more in the near future
Good job, Shawn.
Thanks for watching James
Thanks for the video. Great tips for tying in the legs. I agree with the practice, practice, practice.
Yeah it's not that hard the way I showed them, but it was much easier having done so many. Thanks for watching
Love your videos! Really helpful
Thanks for the nice comment!!! Glad I can help.
Sweet Shawn Another good old pattern for the freestoners Thanks
Thanks Lincoln I won't tell anyone if you want to throw a bead on it.
Great video, it’s good to see you kicking it old school.
Thanks 👍
Very nice Shawn. That's the way I was brought up tying nymphs.
Thanks Frank. That's the way I was taught to tie them too. I'll be honest when I was taught to tie them I never really fished them. I struggled nymph fishing until I learned to Euro-nymph. So, I tied them but didn't fish them much.
@@HolsingersFlyShop same here. I don't really nymph fish more fries and classic streamers but I love creating them.
Gorgeous looking fly Shawn
You make it look so easy
Definitely going to try this one out Thanks for the video
Thanks a lot Dave. Glad you liked it and good luck with it.
Thanks Shawn Great job as always
You bet, thanks for watching
Great tie! And yes u made the legs step look easy I struggle with that. New at tying thanks for another great video
Thank you very much. The key to the legs is practice, practice, practice. Thanks for watching
That'll out-fish a bead head nymph for wild browns in this part of PA. The fish here have become very bead shy.
Do you tie these in smaller sizes?
For sure. I tie a lot of the flies in the videos on the larger size for video quality
Thank you.
