Yeah even younger me would have understood the idea of how a structure like that wouldn't work if you happened to approach it from another angle. Plus at the time Minecraft's worldgen was still very much in its infancy with structures being extremely minimal so it would have been odd for the temple to exist when literal cubes in the ground (dungeons) were large additions. Fun fact: The payout was determined by how long you waited between opening the door and entering. You could even notice this in the original video.
If you think about it this is sort of fitting, all the vines added in like its been overgrown, the contraption has been rusted, sure it remembers the basis like the gold to open the door, thats a basic function, but anything past that is too complicated for the times now.
Honestly this feels like a new map all together. Like the temple of notch 10 years later. The story goes 10 years after several have went missing the temple of notch was abandoned. Rusted and overgrown one person travels back to see a falling apart notch temple to find the treasure he was hiding. Sounds like a banger movie pitch
I used to try to replicate this type of build back then. I was so amazed at how people made other things move in minecraft without directly altering it. now I can't even do a simple redstone sequence bc it's too hard lol
I think this version of the map with the temple all run down sort of shows us the power of time and how Minecraft has slowly fallen out of the spotlight throughout the years.
Hum hello, consistently getting millions of views everyday on UA-cam, continuing to push more and more sales, newer updates bringing old returning players back as well as the game being made more available in different countries *certainly* is not bringing it "out of the spotlight" as in, name one game that's been going on for over a decade that's still supported with this large a community.
Also no the temple is run down because it's over a fricking decade old, it's a literal change because of time not a meta-commentary on the popularity of its medium
When I was 11 I thought this was a real thing so I sought to find this on my world 🗺 but was disappointed when I found out it was a map I literally cried.
Well, there was that, sure, but it turns out the man's even got a controversy section on Wikipedia actually talking about some of what happened. I was unfortunately right in my rememberings. He's not great :(
However, Minecraft is great! And most of what we love about it wasn't even his doing! I am glad the game grew beyond its questionable creator and continues to have a greatly creative community to this day.
I remember when im still 10 i used to play minecraft on my cousin's phone since i cant afford minecraft at that time. Feels want to go back to my childhood again, miss that day

2022 has just come 10 years has passed i know its a long time but 10 years can you bielive it it feel like 2 or 3 years i was a 5th grade kid back then and now a 2nd year student it is not about how long it is its about how you spent your time.During that years, i only keep my boring routine: go to school and then go home no friends, never going out even new year eve or any holidays, when the streets are full of couples, i still be there sit tie in my room study and hang out more, get new relation ship find your passion i hope its not video game but if you can make money from it, go for it. Sorry for my bad english and yeah, learning english is never a bad choice remind if 10 more years passed, let see what i gonna turn to be its not too important to be rich, the thing is you can get the joy of life
I remember this!!
Amazing
Still concerned abou the moss blocks tho 🤣
Ehen I first saw this I was like: "wow what a cool build" not "wow that's a natural structure" like EVERYONE ELSE
of course not
Yeah even younger me would have understood the idea of how a structure like that wouldn't work if you happened to approach it from another angle.
Me too
Finally after all of these years... the funny crying minecraft face...
Do you know what it is
@@claygamer3657 Yeah
When you realized that you can't find this structure is the best Minecraft childhood feeling ever :')
Damn all those crazy ass theories from back then 😂😂
If you think about it this is sort of fitting, all the vines added in like its been overgrown, the contraption has been rusted, sure it remembers the basis like the gold to open the door, thats a basic function, but anything past that is too complicated for the times now.
Watch the Narol Minecraft video with a white avatar, you won't regret it 😁😁😁
When it's so old that even the in-game fictional circuitry is fried.
the fact that this is only accessed in the bedrock version is that it visit the temple in java with recent update is amazing
I remember watching this video as a kid before owning minecraft and i was blown away
I really like the ruined, overgrown look!

I like the idea that nature has taken over the Temple of Notch
Love the details of the withered structures and moss-filled environments of the map.

This and the Aether was the starter pack of young Minecrafters thinking these were possible to visit in game without downloads
Ahh yes. After 10 years, Notch has his faced covered in snot.
Ah the good old days of when Notch still owned Minecraft and was allowed to celebrate its bday

When I was 11 I thought this was a real thing so I sought to find this on my world 🗺 but was disappointed when I found out it was a map
I literally cried.
When I first decided to play Minecraft, on mobile, I instantly found the structure after doing stuff in the mountain
at 0:30 it looks like he shed a tear after seeing someone
it's been a while since someone seen him he is just happy someone did.
Think about it, but some subscribers were not even born then... 😂👍
true
Man that makes me feel old. And I'm only 25!
cant wait to see a notch temple recreation with 1.18 terrain lets go bois
He may be removed from the game but his legacy will never be forgotten and we'll always remember where and when minecraft was born
What, Notch? Wasn't his association dropped because he's a major bigot?
@@bighatenergy he sold the game to Microsoft and he also stopped working with the game because it got too big for him or something
@@bighatenergy facts there right there
Oh I remember staring at this for hours admiring the redstone back then
It’s been 10 years you start to forget the things you should remember
10 years later and you’re still an amazing builder ✨
Nostalgia😢
the amount of people in this comments section that have never heard of the temple of notch is very telling
the way the redstone doesn't work as it used to really makes it old nd run down

I remember when im still 10 i used to play minecraft on my cousin's phone since i cant afford minecraft at that time. Feels want to go back to my childhood again, miss that day
Oh man, I still remember the temple of notch, nostalgia is hitting hard
"Legends say in the beginning the one who created us and this universe and everything we know created this temple but one day he left and never came back now its abandoned and left to rot"
This is a one of a symbols of real Minecraft nostalgia for us, for this time... I'm remembered my days with Xbox 360 Minecraft...
And THIS STRUCTURE is like a spirit of Notch in it, who still cares about Minecraft... But God he's CRYING LIKE AFTER SO MANY YEARS...
I remember when UA-camrs would do lucky blocks on this map. Fun times.
I remember watching this video on my iPad in my mother's womb. Oh how time flies
I just realized I’m old and played this game for 10 years…
Still worth every second of it ;)
They need to add nostalgic community stuff in mc:story mode like a travel back in time thing
Yall guys remember when there werent that many wood plank types, and when there was only one type of door, got damn.....
Remember when food wasn’t stackable
Back in my days we didnt have horses and all these fancy blocks, you had your fists, your xbox 360 friends, and all the time in the world.
Dont forget guys. This was made before command blocks were a thing
I…I remember this. I remember this build as a 3 year old child. OMG THIS IS SO NOSTALGIC. ITS LITERALLY MY CURRENT OLDEST MEMORY. OMG
Oh what a beautiful memory this was. Thank you for bringing it back
After all these years I finally meet you again
OG Minecraft players know this map. I used to play on this map when I was 8 years old and was straight up *confused*.
I’m surprised the door even works after so many updates
I forgot this exist..
Im feeling nostalgic right now
Truly a masterpiece
